Everyone at countryside has been very helpful and caring. Dr. Sherman's compassion for my animals has been wonderful. He has gone above and beyond for them. When my cat was hospitalized with liver problems he kept me updated throughout the day on how she was doing. I was taught how to prevent this from happening again. Today she is running around like a kitten thanks to Dr. Sherman.

Viruses are highly contagious in cats, even if your cat is up to date with its vaccines

Countryside Veterinary Hospital lacks proper controls as we found out the hard way;
Our cat has previously been treated at Countryside for an Upper Respiratory problem and his records would show that his immune system was weak

My husband and I took our 8 month old Abyssinian cat to Countryside to be treated for a bee sting on May 18, 2012 ; we were told over the telephone that bee stings are treated with Benadryl; out of caution we decided to let a Vet give the treatment; the reception staff took our Aby to the back room, when we arrived and said that a Dr. Sherman would take care of him; 20 minutes later Dr. Sherman comes out and says that he has given our Aby an IV with Benadryl and Cortisone; we were surprised, since Cortisone can lower the immune system??s natural defenses and a bee sting was not that serious; then he said that the cat should stay there for another 20 minutes, to make sure all is OK; we came back and picked him up; now we were told that our Aby had taken a liking for a cloth ball toy and that he was playing with it in the back room, so they were giving the ball to him in his carry case, they also said that the ball belonged to the house cats that reside in the hospital !!! ; as we left the hospital, we tossed the toy into a garbage bin outside and were shocked that the staff would have given our cat the cloth ball that other cats had played with and who knows how many other cat patients has touched or bitten on.

Unfortunately, it was too late for our Aby, within 48 hours of the visit to Countryside, he became very ill, displaying symptoms of a severe upper respiratory infection; we do not know what strain of a virus he picked up from the cloth ball, while his immune system was suppressed by the unnecessary cortisone injection given to him by the careless Dr. Sherman (see note 1 below) ; Our Aby is fighting for his life, as we speak

Note1: Episodes of viral shedding are often associated with stress or cortisone administration.

I have been taking my dogs to Countryside Veterinary for 6 years now and their staff is professional and kind. My dogs also go to their "Groom Room". I am especially impressed with Dr. Deb Hofler. She is a compassionate Vet. with excellent "pet side" manner. Sue in the Groom Room loves my Oz-z and Emma as her own.

The staff at Countryside Veterinary Hospital went above and beyond when taking care of my dog. She was very sick and it was obvious how much they cared. They spent extra time with me and my girl. Luckily, she is now doing much better!!

I have been taking my pets to this clinic/hospital for the past ten years. You will find that your pet will be in very caring and loving hands. Every third Saturday of every month, they have a discounted shot clinic. If you have a pet emergency, you can always count on this hospital to get you in right away. Both Veterinarians on staff are very knowledgeable. You can always be certain that your questions will be answered fully.
