Ratings_icons Ambassador Animal Hospital Inc is horrible!!!!!!

Rupal M.

We just had the worst experience in the world with Dr. Roy and his entire staff. They lost all of my dog's past records and proceeded to continuously ask us why we are there after we had already called and explained that we needed to have him put to sleep (he was 20 years old and very ill). Once arriving we had to explain to all the staff separately why we were there, the doctor did not offer any compassion regarding telling us when he had passed on and instead just walked out of the room leaving us to call after him to ask if he was gone. I will never ever go back to this place and urge anyone else to strongly search for another vet because this place is run down and poorly run.

Robert h.

On Dec 1 2008 I took y lab eagen too see doctor roy! eagen wasn't him self. Doc Roy told me there wasn't much i could do. I just didn't want to beleave that i was going to lose my boy. I took him too another vet and told me that same thing. Doc roy told me up front what any charges would be, if i wanted to do more test done. I did have a few test done at another vet It was hopeless. Doc Roy and the staff were very kind to me and my partner. We our getting another lab and WILL TAKE HIM TO DOC ROY.

Ratings_icons Best service animal Hospital in Silver Spring

Charlie A.

Our family have lived in Silver Spring for long time. We grew up in Silver Spring. Our pets were always taken to ambassador for their vaccination, grooming, treatments, sterilization services for last 30 years. Found Ambassador Animal Hospital service is best in Silver Spring. We have been to other animal clinics and were disappointed . Currently we have 3 dogs and 2 cats . They all go to Ambassador Animal Hospital for their regular annual visits/Boarding. Our family strongly recomend to you all New resident of silver Spring, ,Ambassador Animal hospital for your pets health care. Visit and check that out. Make your judgement. You will not be dissapointed.

Ratings_icons Boarding and care

Dog P.

We've been going to Dr. Roy and his staff for all our dog related care for over 1 year. Overall, we are happy with the care provided our two dogs. Boarding: Plenty of space, clean cages, helpful staff/dog walkers (ask for extra walks as only 1 per day is included in the boarding price - cost per day is VERY reasonable considering the area and the fact that the dogs are bathed before release!) Care: The front desk staff has experienced high turnover and can therefore get behind and be somewhat difficult to deal with. An antiquated computer/billing system doesn't help. A little patience goes a long way here. Our dog required 5-7 stitches in his front paw. The care was great, and cheap. Follow-up visits for wound cleaning/bandage ck/change were included in the overall price. Bottom line - Yes, Dr. Roy can be temperamental, but he's good and does care about his "patients". Front desk staff needs work, but is coming along. I actually got a computer generated notice that my dog was due for his shots. Try this vet if you are in the East SS area - bring a calm demeanor and some patience and your experience will most likely be positive.

Ratings_icons Caring Vets

Anonymous

It was just a few days back incident when my dog got operated. I am new in Silver Spring and wanted to show my dog in an emergency. The Vet, don't remember the name, was so good, polite and gave good attention to our emergency case. His positive attitude build my confidence and I was happy to know for having such a caring vet near my house. While the doctor was operating our dog, I took a round of the hospital to see what more and better services I could avail in future. The Hospital looks like a recently build hospital, I was very happy to see their Boarding facility and care taken for hygiene conditions.

Operation was successful, with in an hour my dog was ready to walk.

I think it was a wonderful experience.

Ratings_icons The vet is rude and unkind

Anonymous

My dog was losing his hair over the summer. Ambasador Vet was within walking distance from my house so I figured why not? I made an appointment and walked my dog to the vet. I waited for over 30 min to see the vet. When I did see him the vet was turse with me and said he did not know what the problem was, nor could he help. Even though he did not know what the problem was the vet tried to sell me special shampoo, steroids, convince me that my dog also had an ear infection. The vet also said that since he did not now what was wrong with my dog he would have to keep my dog over the next three days for observation. I said no because I did not trust him. The vet said fine if you do not care for your dog you can always go somewhere else. I did. It turned out that my dog has seasonal allergies that can be cleared up for a quater of the cost that Ambassador was trying to sell me, and none of the guilt.

Ratings_icons A Fine Full Service Vet

Anonymous

We have been using Ambassador for years. We have always been treated courtesy and respectfully and our cats have been treated with love and fine attention.

My wait time has always been minimal - unless they were treating a real emergency and required most hands on deck. My cats have been treated with care and I am sent reminders when it is time for shots.

They also have a boarding and grooming service if that is needed.

And when the end comes and pets "go on" - they handle the situation with dignity.

I recommend this animal hospital without hesitation.

Ratings_icons Didn't feel like they cared about me or my cat

Anonymous

I went here for my first vet's appointment with my first cat - I waited a long time for my appt and then only saw the vet for 5 minutes. He led me to worry about my cat's eyes (she had a bit of fuzziness on one eye) but would not give me a possible prognosis or treatment - he said he'd have to call the vet she had at the shelter. I asked him if her medical records (which he had in his hand), gave him any ideas about what might be wrong, but he refused to answer. He also did not ask me if I had any questions or concerns, even after I told him she was my first kitten. I had to stop him from walking out the door to ask him clip my kitten's nails and then he just clipped one to show me how and then left. I called her old vet because he worried me, and they told me the fuzziness was just a scar from an ulcer she had when she was rescued - it didn't affect her vision. He called the next day and told me I should take her to a specialist because she might go blind. I felt like he was trying to scam me because I was a first-time owner and naive. I followed her old vet's advice instead of his (just watch the eye and take her to the vet if it gets red or looks different) and she is a perfectly healthy kitty. Overall, it was just a bad experience and I felt taken advantage of by someone who tried to scare me rather than be attentive and really care for my pet. I'm never taking her back there.
