Cool hotel

by ryo89harvard11

when i first arrived to the hotel, i didnt think that it would be all that good, judging from the outside.
but i was wrong...
the rooms were spacious and clean, with a touch of luxury. the people there were really nice as well.
it's a typical city hilton. it's a small hotel, but has everything that hilton could offer.

Nice Hotel, Be careful of charges

by scoop470

Went there on business and found it to be very nice hotel with good views and prime location. Just be sure you double check all charges when using debit/credit cards for payment. They told me I would be charged $100 deposit for incidentals and I did not realize until after I checked out that they had actually charged $300. This was not an isolated event as the same thing happened to a co-worker who was on the trip with me. They also charged my card for mini bar purchases even after I refused the key, and for parking even though I did not drive. These charges were eventually reversed but the hassle of it all would make me hesitant if considering to stay there again.

Pros: Nice clean hotel

Cons: Shady billing practices

awful management: avoid

by professor75

Be very wary of this hotel. I stayed there for a business conference. I was booked for two nights for the conference. After the first night, the cleaning staff came into my room and made the very bizarre decision that I must have intended to check out because there wasn't very much left in the room. In fact, all of my toiletries, my overnight bag (I live near Boston so I didn't have that much), my books, and some clothes were left in the room. So they checked me out a day early. I came back to learn that I had to recheck back into the hotel. More importantly, they could not locate almost any of the items they had taken out of the room and still can't (they found only some library books which must have been removed from the bag they were in because they couldn't find the bag). While they did try to make up for the extreme inconvenience by comping me dinner and breakfast in the hotel, the management, especially the general manager, has been condescending, unapologetic, and rude in its handling of the situation. The items left were fairly small but still I would be very wary of a hotel that has the policy of taking items out of guests room who are supposed to be checked in the coming night and wary of hotel managed by someone as poor as this manager. The staff under him was much more apologetic and sympathetic of my situation. The poor management is also reflected, for instance, in the fact BOTH of the phones in my room did not work and it wasn't until I complained about the former situation that a technician was sent up to fix them (almost a full day after my initial complaint when I first arrived). While the rooms are spacious, it seems to me that my situation wasn't an isolated problem but reflects the general mismanagement of this hotel. BE WARY!

Best location for business turning into pleasure

by hotfudge

Loved this place. Been here once before for business, and came back with the family on a recent weekend. Rooms are quite large, our room overlooked gorgeous views of Boston's skyline - not a typical city hotel viewpoint. Loved it. And the kids loved the room - huge. High ceilings, very comfortable beds, and we easily fit the cot in it - tons of room. We loved it because of the great location and the service - car service was prompt, kids kept room service busy and all were totally gracious. We spent a lot of time in the city - bits and pieces of Freedom Trail, and then to Faneuil Hall/QUincy Market, and then to the harbor cruises. All right there. Just turned into a Hilton recently - we'll be back!

Pros: great location, reasonable price, excellent service

Cons: that we had to leave!
