I waited a week to write this review because I wanted to make sure everything went fine with my Lasic surgery. I've got to say my vision is now better than it ever was with contacts or glasses. It absolutely amazing what these people can do! The doctors are amazing and exceptionally nice. From the consultation to the surgery to the return visits I never waited more than 5 minutes in the lobby. I wouldn't trust my eyes to anyone else!

I got my LASIK done yesterday and I'm so thrilled with my new eyes! It's still a tiny bit fuzzy (like wearing dirty contacts) but improving everyday, and I can see 20/15 already. I can wake up in the morning be able to see the clock without fumbling around for glasses. And I don't have to worry about contacts that irritate my eyes. I was scared to do it at first but looking back it was soo fast, easy and painless just like they told me it would be that I can't believe I was scared to do it. I only wish I'd done it sooner! For anyone out there who's looking into LASIK at all, get it done at Pacific Vision Institute and you won't regret it. It will change your life.

Let me start by saying that I'm the most anal-retentive person in the world. I dig into everything to the deepest level. Four years ago I started looking into laser vision correction for myself. I was pretty thorough to say the least. I studied all the technology involved. I ordered and read surgeon's and technician's manuals for ALL the lasers out there. I studied FDA data and all the publications on the subject of LASIK. I checked all the studies comparing all the laser technologies. Lastly, I downloaded and studied all the publications that were done by the local LASIK surgeons (I was quite surprised that only one of them was well published). Finally, I setup exams at 4 different LASIK facilities in the Bay Area. From that point on it became very easy. I walked right out of the first two facilities after about 10 minutes. In the first office the counselor had absolutely no clue what she was talking about. She proceeded to tell me how bad Intralase was and how I should have my eyes cut with the microkeratome. OK, Next! In the second place the staff member showed me a "research paper" outlining the benefits of the laser platform they were using (never mind that the author happens to be a paid consultant working for this particular laser company.). Next! In the third office I got as far as the surgeon. I did not like him at all. He proceeded to badmouth every other center out there, and I could not shake off the feeling that I should run away as quickly as I can.

My last appointment was Pacific Vision. I pretty much decided that if that did not workout I was not going to have LASIK. I went in with higher expectations than the other places, because I found a lot of very useful and informative articles that were published by their main surgeon, Dr. Faktorovich. It became apparent that this place was going to be different the moment I walked in. First off, it was obvious that a lot of thought went into building this office. The second thing that impressed me was that the lady that talked to me told me right off that they were not cheap and also deferred most of my technical questions to the engineer they have on staff. Now, this guy knew his business. I had a lot of questions that required pretty deep understanding of the technology. He knew it all and provided excellent explanations. These people have a wealth of knowledge and technology. I was most impressed with Dr. Faktorovich. She was very down-to-earth and friendly, yet it was obvious that this is a pro of the highest caliber. She is also very conservative and I was impressed that she wouldn't operate on anyone who was short of a perfect candidate. I felt 100% confident that I will have a great result.

It's been about two years now since my LASIK and I can honestly say it was one of the best things I ever did for myself. I see great. I am compelled to write this review because I feel that Pacific Vision is a place that's head and shoulders above not just the lasik places, but many medical practices.
