I brought my sick puppy here and had an absolutely terrible experience. Dr. Yamate was rude and was more concerned about running up charges than my puppy's health. She mistakenly diagnosed the problem and thought my pup needed more pain meds so she doubled up on her pain medication. Turns out my dog was reacting to the pain meds and doubling up the meds made her so sick, I feared she was dying (she wouldn't eat, drink, potty or move and could barely breathe). I brought her back and fortunately saw another vet. Dr. Murdy was nice and figured out the problem. She took her off that pain medication and my puppy got better as soon as it cleared her system.

Misdiagnosis aside, their office clerical staff is another reason to avoid this place at all costs. Again, it's the almighty dollar that drives this business. I called and asked them to correct the diagnosis on our paperwork (from being under medicated to being allergic to the medication). They refused to do it. I went up the ladder and ultimately spoke to the administrator. I explained that I needed the correct diagnosis so I could submit it through my insurance company. He refused to do it because he was more concerned about a malpractice claim than he was with doing the right thing. He asked me send a letter and he would review it and get back to me. I wrote a very detailed letter explaining what happened and he never called me back. He was rude, officious and dishonest to boot (an absolutely horrid man).

If you care about your pet, if you want competent medical care from people who love animals, if you want to be treated politely, do NOT go to Orange County Emergency Pet Clinic.

This is a great place if there is ever an emergency with your pet and your Vet is closed. Think of it as an ER for animals! I took my Cocker Spaniel there after she fell into a hole and broke her leg. They were so friendly and calmed my worries.
