I took two watches to this shop, one to be cleaned, the other to have a pin install on the stainless band (Both very simple repairs) . When I got them back, I tried to set the time on the one that had the pin replaced, I noticed the stem was broke, I took it back and was told that I pulled too hard on the stem?

I've had this watch for less than a year? although it didn't sound right to me, I accepted this, although I declined to have them fix it because (which was going to cost me $150.00) I was going to send the watch back (it's still under warranty) order the original part, to which I responded why not take it to the store where I bought it from, they would have the part, I was then told that she had the parts in stock? And that Feldman would charge me twice as much (Didn't she just tell me she would have to send it out, or order the part?) to fix it and she really made a case for me to leave it with her, I asked her what were the chances of both stems braking at the same time. she had no answer.

I can't say for sure if both watches were broken there, but that was my experience at Gold Star. YOU CAN DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSION. I try to patronize local shops in my neighborhood, but I will not be returning to this shop EVER. BOTH STEMS BREAKING AT THE SAME TIME, REALLY?

Since I couldn't wear the one watch, I put on the other one, and when I went to set the time, low and behold the stem was broke, and, when I took it back to the Gold Star (You guessed it, $150.00 to fix it) first she said she would have to send it out or

.

A wonderful, small jewelry store run by a sister and brother (the store was started by their father). I had a Tiffany watch that all other jewelers, including Tiffany's, said was unfixable. The brother who is in his fifties and has been repairing jewelry since he was 14 fixed it in two days! I have also brought in designs that they created at a reasonable price. A great little store and you can walk to LACMA!
