Thanks to the knowledge, caring, insight and deep compassion of Dr. Allen, I am now on an amazing journey of a life of joy and freedom from trauma. One could not be in better hands than Dr. Allen. I wholeheartedly disagree with the opinions expressed by the reviewer who was upset that Dr. Allen did not waive the fee for a missed appointment, to the point of suggesting that she was only in business for money. That provision is standard policy for appointment-oriented businesses, not a personal attack, as it seems the reviewer took it. In fact, I would say that the reviewer missed a perfect opportunity to explore with Dr. Allen why the fee issue was so offensive that it was deemed worthy of all the negative energy it took to seek revenge against Dr. Allen in a public forum. Just a thought...

I really don't think the reviewers who criticized Dr. Allen about money are fair. I'm not sure how you mean she's money-hungy. Her fees are already set by insurance companies. Occasionally she takes self-paying people, but she discounts for needy people on a sliding scale. I also happen to know that she does some pro bono (free) counseling for hardship cases. However, if you miss an appointment, she does charge you out of pocket as the insurance company does not pay for missed sessions. Many people don't like this and get angry, but if you think about it, almost all professionals have the same policy as they get paid for a very few hours in the day, are self-employed and count on their income to keep their businesses running. In fact, all psychologists have the same policy. Also, when a psychologist says they cannot take anymore people, they often mean they are almost full but can squeeze in a few more self-paying people because these are the people that offset the low fees that the insurance pays them and makes it possible for discounted fees for those who need them. Therefore, they may really be full but making a little room for self-paying clients. It would be better for you to understand the process, rather than to take it personally and angrily smear Dr. Allen for this. She''s good at what she does and very caring with her clients, so your remarks may be keeping people from seeing her that really need some help.

I think you maybe wanting too much too soon. She handles her own payments so only she can make sure she gets paid so I can understand her wanting to sort out money before going further in the process (especially in these times)..It doesn't mean she doesn't care about you.. I read the 2 reviews before seeing her but I still gave her a chance, the first appointment was about the paper work and payment stuff - but everything after that has been all about me and what I need to work on.. She is a very caring person and I can say I'm happy to have found her (finally). I have never felt I could talk to anyone about anything but it is very very easy to talk to her. And I can tell you she wasn't being dishonest about people waiting to see her cause I was one of them - I think maybe you should give people a chance before you let what you read influence your choice. (I started seeing her mid Oct - I go every week - money hasn't been talked about since the first time I saw her)

I recommend Dr. Allen she has been such a blessing and a relief
