I don't recommend this business to anyone, they towed my car when I had the permit. When I pointed it out, they said they still have to tow it and asked for $60 to drop it there. The towers were a bunch of ignorant bigons and were totally tripping on a power trip. You could smell the years of beer and cheeze-its on their breaths, totally unprofessional impatient, rude bunch of people.

I recently had my "customized" car towed by Jim's Garage. The truck driver was friendly, but completely unprofessional and continued to pry into my personal life. The dispatcher questioned my choice of the use of a flat-bed tow truck. Even after explaining why it was necessary with my lower car, she and truck driver questioned my decision. Keep in mind I watched the driver load my car onto the truck and IT STILL DRUG THE GROUND. BUT all in all my car did make it to the car shop and I left nothing to allow the temptation of stealing, so the purpose of my car being transporting safely was met.

These people are FAR FROM HONEST!! My first car was towed by them for no reason. I called Jim's and they said they had my car and that I had to have a slip of paper from the person who had it towed. They said they could not tell me who had it towed. They just said I had to bring that piece of paper in and pay the fees. I called around and went around everywhere I could think of... The police station, the sheriff's office, and the apartment complex office. They all said that they did not have it towed. By the time I found all of that out, less than a week later, I called Jim's back (mind you I had called everyday up until then, as well) and they told me to just forget the paper. Bring the title and $675 to get it out! (It went up daily) By that time, there was NO WAY I had that money. I had only paid $700 for the car! Their track record of this sort of thing is said ,by many people I know, to be Less Than Honest. Sure if you need a midnight tow, they'll be there within a couple of hours! I think the only reason they are still in business is because they get the majority of their business from impounds by the Lafayette Police and from selling parts/auctioning cars that were probably stolen in the first place! Another thing: I had just moved and had 90% of my belongings in my car! Including a brand new microwave, dish set, all of my clothes, cds, etc. Take my first- hand advice: Don't encourage their crooked business! Call someone else!!!

I have used Jim's Garage for 3 years and have not only been satisfied, but delighted with my experiences there. The staff is competent and professional. Inside the garage there is a wall filled with positive reviews from customers. Many times I have walked out of OTHER repair shops with an empty pocketbook and felt like I had been robbed. I went to Jim's Garage with a non-functioning radiator and thought I was in for a large repair bill. The staff immediately found the problem and got me back on the road! It turned out the problem was minor and the bill was under $50. The type of service I have received at Jim's Garage is unheard of in the auto shop business. This shop is truly "a diamond in the rough".Special thanks to Jodie and Tim for your excellent workmanship and for the peace of mind I feel when I leave your shop!

Last Sunday afternoon, my Mother and I were driving from Lafayette to Brookston when the car Mom just bought died. It was a very dangerous place, as there was no pull off and it was on a curve. AAA called Jim's Garage and they were there within minutes! The tow driver was a woman and she was very able and knew her business. Within 5 minutes, she had the car pulled out of harm's way. She politely asked where we wanted to go, and we told her Monon, to Newbold's Garage. When we got there, she asked what happened and we told her it just died! She opened the hood and found a loose battery cable. She got out her set of tools and tightened it and the car started right up!! She could have just dropped the car off and been done, but she went above her calling. This saved us a repair bill and a day of waiting to see what the problem was, as this happened on a Sunday. Hats off to Jim's for the great service. I would recommend them to anyone, including my Mother!!!

Once my friend's car was dead, so we called triple A and waited for the tow truck to come. But it was slow, it almost took about more than 1.5 hours to get to our friend's house. But the driver was good at putting the van to the truck, and drive it to the repair shop. So only bad point is they are kind of slow to get to the place.

I have used Jim's Garage on two different occasions; the first time by choice, and the second time only because nobody else was available. While there was no harm to my vehicle, on both occasions the guys that were sent to tow were creepy, to say it nicely. They smoked while hooking up the car, cursed, and stared for too long. After the first incident, I tried to avoid using them again. When once desperate, I decided maybe the first time was just a flook and tried them again only to be disaapointed by the same type of character. Use this compnay only if necessary.
PROS: Many tow trucks in fleet
CONS: Made me feel uncomfortable.
