Wearing glasses isn?t a fashion death sentence, at least not if you shop at See. This frame haven purveys designer-esque house brand eyewear for bespectacled men and women who crave a trendy look for less. An acronym for Selective Eyewear Elements, the shop has a sister store over the bridge in Back Bay, but the items stocked at the Harvard Square location are almost entirely different. Most frames are acetate, but there are also a few metal options from which to choose. All are imported from Austria and made in extremely small quantities, so it?s highly unlikely that you?ll see a style you purchased perched on the nose of another hip-and-with-it passerby.The Inside Scoop
- Save Money - After making your first purchase, expect to receive major coupons in the mail. If you're shopping for two pairs of specs, pull them from the sale section where it is often buy one, get one half off.
- Look Good - The staff at See isn't afraid to tell you what they think. The crew wants you to be comfortable, but be prepared for the honest truth in order to find a set of frames that properly fit.
- Know Before You Go - Even though See is hip enough to make you forget that glasses are technically a medical device, make sure you have the staff check to see if your insurance is accepted.
