Good Bands, Bad bar

The Middle East usually has a lot of good local acts come in on the weekends. It is not a bad place to watch a band but it is a horrible place to drink. The bar is so ridiculously overpriced (even for Boston) it makes you want to find a new hobby. My friend and I went to go see our friend's band and ordered a pitcher of bud light and two shots of Jameson. The bill was $32. Need I say more?

Not only is the music bumpin' at the upstairs or downstairs, but the food is slammin'. I have tried some really spicy dishes and some cool, soothing yougurt based snacks here. Check this place out on certain nights for a special belly dancing performance!

This place is the best place to see a group play in cambridge. Bar area is ok. I saw de la sol and antibalas downstairs. The location in central square.

The Middle East Restaurant is a nice place to go out and eat it is like the name says a place that has a lot of foods from the middle east which i like and i think they do a good job with also they are very reasonabley priced and I think you get a lot for your money. They also have a nightclub in the same place as the restaurant that has all kinds of cool shows which i think is awesome you can make a whole night out of it and go out to supper and then party and see an awesome show. I would definatley reccomend the middle east especially if you like that type of food and live shows. It is a fun thing to do and I woudl reccomend it.

No real complaints...

There really can't be any complaints about the Middle East. Somehow, they manage to bring in the best shows, accomodate most of the people that want to see it, and have pretty decent prices. And this isn't even the price for tickets; this includes prices for alcohol and food in the cafe. Sometimes the venues can get cramped and the cafe pretty loud, but honestly, thats the appeal.
