Great experience

by Wendy W. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 7,337

We had our daughter's birthday party here. It was a miserable hot day in June but the kids had a great time. Everything was very relaxed. We had a couple of issues but they were taken care of immediately and politely. We are going back and can't wait to try renting the horses or going for trail rides without all of the kids.

Great horseback experience

by Karim _. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 12,147

We went to Dead Broke Farm on a cold, cloudy December weekend so I was not expecting a great experience due to the weather, but I wanted to do something special and refreshing unique. Fortunately the weather did not take away from the fun we had. The Farm is located on 60 acres of back-country trails in Raleigh, NC. When we arrived, we were amazed with the number of beautiful horses covering a myriad hue of colors and sizes. We were later informed there were a total of 59 horses on the Farm. We were greeted promptly by 4 ranch hands who were very polite and friendly. After filling out the required paperwork we got our first lesson by Tia (who would later guide us on our adventure) on how to mount, guide and dismount the horse.

After we mounted the horses, we were off for our trek through the wilderness of Dead Broke Farm. Our guide Tia was friendly and patient with us. Our horses at first were very compliant and easy to ride. It seemed like it would a laid back ride through the country. However, it turned out to be anything but that. Our horses galloped up hills, displayed their unique personalities and challenged us in ways we had not anticipated. It was very exciting and fun.

We took a 1 hour ride which was totally worth every penny. It is an adventure we will not forget and will definitely go back again and ride at the farm and try some different horses to gauge their personalities. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to ride horses in the Triangle, NC.
