Was referred to this salon by a friend. This was my first trip to a salon and my expectations were neutral so when I stepped in I wouldnt have gone in there biased.I wanted hi-lights but actually ended up getting full color on the top half of my head and the hi-lights on the bottom half.. What i had in mind and what I actually got were two different things completely.
The top color i asked for (wanted hi-lights in general) was so overpowering that on the way home i went to Sallys and bought some semi permanent color to tone it down a bit....(Applied the color and thanked God that my hair didnt fall out from all that processing).. Kinda sad that my other color I wanted on the top is nowhere to be seen. I didnt mind the top color, but just not THAT MUCH, and i surely didnt want my top half of my head that color, so i am not sure why that happened. Being that all i wanted was hi-lights to begin with.

Why didnt I just mention it to the hairstylist you are probably asking? Well for one, she booked 2 clients with me in the chair back to back, so i know she wouldnt have had time to fix it then and there. And two, i just wanted to get the heck out of there. There are some people you click with, and some you dont. I also felt like it was pulling teeth for the few words we did exchange during the three hour process, so being there while she fixed the color would have been more torture. And lastly, i didnt have the time to stay and have it fixed, then, or any other time this week. So i would have been stuck with this disaster hair for another week until i could come back and get it fixed.

Not to mention, i totally felt insulted near the end when she was flat ironing my hair and she says that I reminded her of this other lady that complained about her hair (she gave the lady an updated style of the style she wanted, instead of exactly what she asked for).. but her saying this gotta caught me off guard because for one i didnt even mention anything about not liking my hair at that moment (for the reasons listed above), and secondly, we hadnt even talked that much during the whole process, so how could i remind her of someone, when she didnt even know me.

It was a two step process for my coloring.Lightening and then coloring... During the lightening process after she washed out the bleach she mentioned that it didnt get light enough for her.. I have dark black hair and i was expecting my hair to be platinum blonde or close to it after the lifting, but it was a light brown i believe.. and yet she proceeded with the color...

Coloring was next and after the rinse i sat in the chair before going under the dryer and she was saying how she could barely see one of the colors she put in(this was because she didnt lift the color out of my hair enough, before going to step 2)... But NO CLIENT wants to hear that you cant see one of the colors that they asked for... The few people that have seen my hair said they saw glimpses of it, so ima have them take a pic for me so i can see it up close myself.

Anyway, just horrible, and unfortunately I will not be returning. Now I did get to see one lady turn out two girls during my time there and their hair was slamming, so this place just may be great, but it was not great for me... I have people that are dying to see my hair tomorrow and im actually embarrassed by this... I bet i could have done this same thing at home, got the results I wanted for 80% less than what i paid for this. An expensive lesson to learn, but i learned it. When going to the salon, make sure that YOU AND YOUR STYLIST are on the same page and that they know exactly what you want and how to do it, and if anything goes differently you speak up at that time.

I would not suggest or recommend anyone getting their hair colored here at all. Want a regular style, shampoo or something, sure, but color? PLEASE DONT!! Im sad that this first salon experience was so horrifying that I will never go to another salon ever again.

Style Dujour Salon & Lash Boutique did a very good job on my lashes. I've had too many instances when I've gone it to get them filled, only to have them fall out within a day or so. The set I received at Style last a full two weeks.
