Best Groomers...Worth Going the Distance

Our two small dogs (min. poodle and peke-a-poo) were banished from another groomer because they were "difficult." We did not want to medicate them unless there was no choice. We asked if we could stay with the dogs to witness the problems, but we were refused.
My husband called this place and asked if he could stay through a couple of grooming sessions to see if he could help modify the little brats' behavior (the dogs know he means business, when he speaks to them). He stayed with them the first time, and the groomer said he could continue to come any time he wanted, but she felt she could handle the dogs herself.
Each time we had them groomed, she gave us a little "report card" on their behavior. Not only did they become model citizens through her kindness and patience, their cuts were also exactly what I wanted, much more consistent and reliable than the other place had been.
The cost was slightly more than the other place, but the atmosphere was much warmer, calmer and less scary even to me, never mind the dogs! And the little guys never looked better. Paradise Pet Lodge is worth every penny. We never used their boarding services, but friends have raved about them.
PROS: Good cuts, kindness to pets and people
CONS: Not cheap, but worth every penny

I have used both the grooming services as well as the boarding services at Paradise. Both offer terrific staff, you can tell they are all crazy about animals.
The grooming staff even takes my difficult dog, who has been known to bite. Most places wouldn't attempt him........
The boarding facility allows you to bring items from home, special dishes, toys & blankets. My dog still hated going to "sleepover camp", but I felt like he was getting great treatment while I was gone.
Do have updated vet records prior to scheduling boarding.
PROS: great parking
CONS: grooming not always finished when specified

This is the pet lodge of choice when leaving town. They walk and play with the pets and let them run around and get some exercise. If you have more than one of the same pet (two dogs, for example), they can board together in the same room. If your pet is extremely spoiled at home, you can ask for an actual 'room' with a bed and t.v. for your furry friend. Pricing would be higher, of course. Make sure your pet is caught up on all shots before bringing to the lodge.

Great place for your pets!

While I haven't taken my labrador to PPL for quite some time now because a friend is willing to take her when I travel, I used PPL quite a number of times when she was 6 months - 3 years old. Not only are the facilities wonderful (indoor-outdoor), but one can get extra attention for their pets such as nature walks, private theme rooms (should you feel guilty going to Hawaii or Mexico and not taking him or her), and training sessions. Once, after 6 days there and just a few training sessions, she came back to me able to HEEL, which I'd not been able to get her to do. I highly recommend the facility and the caring and expert trainer there. Take a look at their web pages for further information.
Pros: Service, facility, amenities
Cons: None

Caregivers Exemplar
by gard1938
First time placed in a boarding situation; my dane, Tinkerbelle, did wonderful. Clean, no health problems and emotionally top notch, also I think she gained weight. I was concerned, as TinkerBelle is a rescue Dane, and has issues with fears--but, she did great and the wonderful caregivers are the reason.
Pros: caring atmosphere, price range acceptabl, Best care
