Lynn delivered my first baby and provided our family with horrible service. She was rude to my husband and I, and began to argue with him while I was pushing. She did not read our birth plan and was unfamiliar with our wishes. As as a result, she called in the family practice team to visit our newborn instead of the pediatric team. The family practice team, less familiar with newborn care, placed my baby in the NICU and administered tests for hours, when simple nasal suction was all that was required. Lynn claimed to have administered a local anesthetic prior to stitching a second degree tear, but had to have me held down by nurses to administer stitches because I felt every one. Lynn lied to me about completing the paperwork that I required for my FMLA leave, putting my employment status in jeopardy. The bottom line is that our personality did not mesh well with hers, and we felt that she was not able to provide us professional service as a result. Whether she purposefully provided poor service or not, we cannot judge, but I would never allow her to touch me again. While I had a very positive experience with the other midwives at UIHC, we sought out the midwives at the Group in Davenport for our second baby. We delivered there with a fabulous experience and it was well worth every mile we had to drive. And I didn't feel a single one of the stitches the second time

My wife and I met with Lynne for our initial consultation in early 2010. We were not impressed with her. I was mostly ignored throughout the visit. My questions were answered to my wife with little eye contact with me. During the visit, we were informed that even fresh squeezed organic orange juice is not good for you.

I asked why we should choose UIHC for delivery versus a midwife at home and instead of selling us on why the hospital would be the best Lynne choose to slam the ??competition??. My wife ended up giving birth at our house and was a great experience!

I had several apointments with Lynn throughout my prenatal care. She is very supportive of natural birth and is interested in actually discussing risks and benefits with her clients. She is supportive of VBAC.

I had my first appointment with Lynn this week. She was very down to business, but personable. She wasn't the warm, nurturing type of midwife, but obviously very knowledgeable about birth and pregnancy.
