Brilliance Academy is now a Montessori program, and is the best value I have found in the area for childcare. Dont get me wrong, its not in the newest building and it doesnt have a lot of frills, but what matters, compassionate and talented staff, Brillaince has in abundance.

Every teacher there truly cares and does a fantastic job with the children Ive seen little turnover.. My 3 year old son has excelled since starting at Brilliance and everyone from family to friends is impressed with how much he has matured and learned so much.

The staff throws seasonal parties for the kids that they spend a lot of time and money preparing. They even had a petting zoo for their fall party!! They truly put the children first and give them a wonderful, thoughtout and thourough education and experience.
Mrs Anju is wonderful with my son and has such s kind & loving attitude towards her students. Mrs Rosie the director is wonderful with the children and very attentive when a parent needs something or has any type of question or concern.

We mistakenly choose this daycare for the bargain price and hoped for the best. Brilliance Academy did not provide adequate care to our 2 year child. Me and my Wife started my two year daughter in Brilliance Academy Aug 27, 2012. On September 14, 2012 we went to pick my daughter up at 5:15pm and she was alone and upset kneeling on her knees in a empty room away from her class. The teacher was clearly unaware of were she was and apologized to me and my wife at the time and stated she had the kids in line at one point in order to take out the trash my daughter must have ran out of the line and into the room. The assistant director at the desk refused to let us speak to the always absent director/Co-Owner. After being persistent with our request we were told that the director changed her phone number and has not updated the assistant director as to her number.. Our response to the obvious lie was we won't leave until we at least get to report this over the phone to the director. There response was to contact the Addison police to ask us to leave. I had no other choice but to immediately seek out care elsewhere for the safety of my daughter. We withdrew my daughter the following Monday September 17, 2012. Be aware the always absent director or does not give out her contact information and calls with a blocked number. As of today Brilliance Academy has been cited 264 times in the last 2 years by Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. This business lost there corporation status in December of 2010. Currently they are operating as DBA. MAYBERRY, KELLY, and Terry Hendricks are the owners. Terry Hendricks is a current real-estate agent with Remax. They have the same address in Desoto on many public documents. Upon Dallas county public record search reveals there is recent federal tax lien over 20K. If I can be of assistance any way or if others have been victims please email me at anthonyabernethy@gmail.com.

Long story short, there are serious safety concerns. If you go to the website of Department of Family Protective Services you can read all about their 255 violations. Here is a small sample During the course of the investigation it was determined a two year old child did leave the facility and was unsupervised for approximately 20 minutes. The teacher responsible for the child did not know the child was missing. Based on the information received during the inspection it was determined two three year old children were also unsupervised on the day of the incident. One child was sent to the restroom alone and a second child was sent to the office to get the assistant director. Once these children left the classroom the teacher could not properly supervise these children. Based on the information received during the inspection it was determined, on several different occasions, caregivers have left the room and left children with a ten year old child. These children were not being properly supervised when the caregivers left the room. On one occasion the toddler children were left alone with a ten year old child. These children were not being properly supervised. I strongly encourage any and every parent to thoroughly research not only this center, but any center that you would place your child in. It is my believe that the positive reviews posted for this center are fake. You can find information at https://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Child_Care/ppFacilityDetails.asp?ptype=DC&fid=433311

Business Response:

BPA does have a great amount of deficiencies. All of the deficiencies were corrected on site or corrected through a follow up visit. The Teacher who was supervising the 2 yr old and the 3 yr old kids is no longer with us. There was never a 10 yr old supervising the kids. The 10 yr old was a student a BPA and was in the room with the kids with another Teacher. From the report you will see that most of our deficiencies came within a certain time period and certain people ( staff) are no longer with us for those reasons. We don't need to write fake reviews for any reason, most of our enrollments come from referrals. But you are more than welcome to come in and speak to us about your concerns. Thank you

I enrolled my daughter Marlo into the 3 yr old program a few months ago. We were referred by a co worker who has a son enrolled. I was nervous at first because this is her 3rd school and I'm a very picky mom. But since we've been there Ms.Kelly is absolutely the sweetest lady I've ever met. The staff are also nice and helpful. Ms.Anju is a great Teacher and I would refer this school to all of my Friends. Plus my kid is reading !!!! Thanks Brilliance

My kid was enrolled at Brilliance from 2008-2010. There were great changes since then. The Director has really changed the school around and implemented so many things. Not only is the structure great but the staff are always there to answer all of my questions. Brilliance isn't just a preschool its a place where your kids can grow. The director has other preschools and yes she is busy but she grew Brilliance a way like other places couldn't.I actually referred so many quality parents to Brilliance.

Business Response:

Ms. Kayshala the day you were in the classroom our assistant was in there with you (The Teacher was out). Of course kids will be excited to see a parent in the room ( You were helping with the concert practice ). But Thanks for your review and we have made changes since then.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my deepest appreciation to Brilliance Academy and Mrs. Brand and to share our story. I previously fostered two wonderful boys and later adopted them. When I received them into my home, the oldest (William) was 3 years old and the youngest (Andrew) was 8 months old.

My three-year-old son was already severely behind academically due to his unfortunate upbringing. Due to dealing with a Government ran system, my hands were tied to place him into any special program to help him gain his lost early and vital education. I had to place him in a public school system. It took me three years of fighting with the system to get William the much needed I.E.P and special accommodations to get him on track. By the time my youngest, Andrew, was three, I had legally adopted both him and his brother Billy.

With the adoption, my hands were freed to enroll my children in the school I felt would best serve their needs. Although it was too late for Billy to get the quality start as he so rightly deserved, I was able to enroll Andrew into quality early education through Brilliance Academy. With the loving patience of his teacher Mrs. Brand and the high standards of individual care an attention that Brilliance Academy provides, I watched Andrew blossom. It was almost bitter sweet as I watched my youngest supersede most of his older brother??s milestones due to the poor start he received in the public education sector. Although William is making great gains now, I am thankful that his younger sibling did not have to deal with the same struggles and frustrations as his brother did.

Thank you sincerely from all of our hearts,
The Waters Family.

Let me say, I was extremely particular putting my child in ??any? childcare center. As a stay-at-home mom, I just wanted my kid to go to preschool part-time --- to get adjusted to a school setting. But I was outraged (and scared) with an incident at another Carrollton daycare my sister had my nephew at.

To date, I can say that I am very satisfied with our time at Brilliance. Low Teach/Child ratios. High focus on education. And parent involvement is expected by the school. The curriculum emphasis is put on getting elementary school-ready. The staff and faculty show a considerable level of professionalism and qualifications.

Ms. Kelly is best thing that ever happened to Brilliance. She is so dedicated to the school, the students and making sure that everything is right. She truly cares!

I am overly impressed with their Kindergarten program. In the Kindergarten program my little one is learning simple mathematics; adding, subtraction, greater and less than. Things that kids in 2nd grade usually learn. Although, she will not be there for 1st grade, I a confident she??ll be in advanced classes next year. I categorize Brilliance as one of the top preschools in the Addison, Carrollton, and Farmers Branch area.

I only had my child at Brilliance Preschool & Academy for the summer time. I only have partial custody for the summer months. I was just looking to put her in Summer Camp or child care while she was with me. Well, Brilliance really exceeded my expectations for a summer camp at a Pre-School.

I noticed a lot of teacher devotion for other children who needed the special attention. Very friendly staff?. The school really believes and promotes parent involvement. This is one of the best preschools in Dallas, TX in my opinion.

If I could, I would have kept her there for the 2009-2010 school year. Relocating to the Dallas, I was really impressed with the level of detail in a Pre-School environment.
