The bread and garlic dip and the chopped salad is all you need for a great meal. The Italian dishes are ok but those things are really what I like there. Portions are large so you will have leftovers.

Alejo is the main Italian restaurant we go to in the neighborhood if we want to celebrate a birthday and have mood in Italian food. Garlic olive dip with their homemade bread really opens up the appetite and their pizza and pasta are very cheese and tasty.

A great place for a low key Italian lunch or dinner, with emphasis on garlic. The bread and dipping sause is a great start, and the pasta is cooked just right. I usually opt for the chopped salad, as well.

Garlic and more garlic, but its really good. This is a simple restaurant, no table clothes, nothing fancy. The food, though, is excellent, and the service is good as well. The chopped salad is great. Walking distance from LMU, this is the nicest Italian restaurant around.

Substandard food, with the exception of their delicious pizza. The Marina Del Rey location never answer their phone, so if take-out is what you want, have fun walking-in and waiting waiting waiting.

Tucked away in a strip mall, next to a 7-11, is this little gem of an Italian restaurant. Seating is family style, with one long table running down the middle of the dining area and a few other tables surrounding it. Food is served quickly, but the wait to get in can be lengthy. You're also allowed to bring your own wine without a corkage fee. Food is heavy on the garlic!

The atmoshphere is a little lacking (it can get quite noisy) but this is a favorite cheap-date spot of mine. Split a pizza and try their to-die-for soups!

Ever since Alejo's has changed cooks and staff ... the whole experienced has changed. It has gone downhill. We ordered food tonight and the spaghetti was overcooked and the spinach fettucinni alfredo.
My suggestion to the owner, hire back your old wait staff and cook and pay them the wage they deserve... considering the prices went up.

We love this place, great food (salmon tortellini, shrimp el diablo and ravioli are our favorties), a friendly atmosphere. Its a true "neighborhood" favorite.
