I've been seeing Dr. O'Neill for several years and if you want the best, this is the guy. Personable, professional, and proficient are the words that best describe him. His team is very caring and they remembered my name every time I come in even if there are new staff around. He does his best to give me the best treatment and there has been minimal discomfort no matter what takes place. I broke a tooth and was in a pretty foul mood, but left there with great confidence that I'd be presentable. He more than met my expectations because my teeth look like they belong to a model. He couldn't make the rest of me look like a model, but he sure made me feel like one when I smile. He made a temporary tooth for me to wear while the lab created my permanent tooth. The temporary was fabulous and no one would have guessed it wasn't my own. Ask for Dr. O'Neill. He's the one I trust with my smile every day. I'm glad I did.

Before I go into my experience I want to tell you that I have since been to a different dentist for a second opinion. The experience I had at Cornerstar was startling because they were trying to tell me my mouth was jacked up and I needed thousands of dollars worth of root canals and crowns. My new dentist let me know that my gums are healthy. My teeth do not need root canals so I don't need crowns. I do need fillings and I found out I brush too hard, but root canals are not needed for me. My teeth look and feel fine other than the fillings I need. So don't try to tell me I'm blaming this place because I don't care for my teeth and I'm in denial. That's not what this is. I wouldn't bother posting such a negative review if I hadn't received the second opinion. After doing that I discovered how downright awful Cornerstar really is and I feel others who are looking for HONEST dentists need to know what to expect from them.

The dentist who did my check-up and cleaning was rude and extremely rough. I don't use ""extremely"" lightly when I say this. It felt like she was shredding my gums apart. It was the most painful cleaning I have ever had in my life. She commented to me how much my gums were bleeding and how messed up my gums and teeth are. She would not get me anything to spit in either. The dental assistant (who was actually nice by the way) gave me something to spit into after the cleaning was over and seemed to be apologetic about the way the dentist was acting. The dentist mentioned nothing of preventative care or anything else about my teeth other than root canals and crowns. I believe she told me I needed 3 or 4 of them. I apologize, but I do not remember this woman dentists name and it doesn't appear they have her listed on their website anymore so perhaps she has left or been fired. I just know she wouldn't stop talking about very personal stuff about her husband, she loved Twilight, and something about her being christian. I learned more about her life than I did about what was going on with my teeth (and my throbbing, hurt gums after the cleaning.) She did some other stuff that was unprofessional like leaving stuff in my mouth (true story) and leaving floss between my teeth while leaving the room mumbling something about my teeth being too tight for her to finish flossing them. I mean, I could have flossed them myself. And I did because she didn't end up coming back for like 10 minutes. The whole experience was just painful and weird. (Edit: I'm pretty sure her name was Jennifer Parker.)

Either way it wasn't just her that put me off. The dental group itself wants your money. I have since switched to the better, honest dentist I wrote about earlier.

Basically, this Cornerstar place lied to me and were willing to do unnecessary procedures on my teeth in order to bulk up their wallets. That's kind of scary, people! My advice is to run away and find a real dentist who is honest and good at what they do. If you carry Delta Dental like me and you are near this area you probably see a bunch of Cornerstar listings. Ignore them. I ended up going to a practice a minute down the road next to the medical plaza with the ER and the helipad. His name is Sere S. Myers. He's honest with you and won't try to sell you on stuff you don't need. I recommend him because he's awesome and only a minute or two more down the road, but if not him then please go anywhere except for Cornerstar Dental. They come across as scam artists to me and from the looks of it several other people who have reviewed them feel similar as well.

This is the most incompetent, unprofessional and unethical orthodontia office! Do not go here! After 1 1/2 years of treatment, we received a notice in the mail saying that they made a mistake with our insurance and it the $1500 insurance payment was now due from us directly - or have our daughter's braces removed. We had made every monthly payment for our share during the 1 1/2 years. We had two orthodontists during this time - one quit during the first year and we were switched to the new one.
During the 1 1/2 years we had approximately only 10 appointments. Due to limited staffing which they mislead us about in the beginning, appointments are hard to schedule and usually 6-8 weeks apart. The office cancelled two appointments on us and actually scheduled one for 8am when they open at 8:30 that morning.
The office staff and front desk employees are just nasty. They treated us horribly even though their office manager admitted the mistakes on their part over and over. She apologizes and apologizes but nothing gets better and they keep taking your payments.
Today was our last day there. We were picking up the retainer and only the dentist was available to meet with my daughter. We were told to come in for a quick, 10 minute fitting. We scheduled this on her lunch break from school. We arrived 10 minutes early for the appointment, waited over 20 to be seen by the dentist. I stepped across the parking lot to buy her lunch since she'd be late getting back to school due to this delay and the dentist made a completely inappropriate comment to my 14 year old daughter!!!
I called the office to speak with the dentist directly and he did apologize for his ""slip of the tongue"" but really is this the kind of health professional you'd recommend? I cannot stress enough that there are plenty of other professional, organized, competent and patient friendly dental and ortho offices in our area. This office is clearly not one of them.

I usually don't write reviews, however, after reading comments from the others regarding this office, I felt important to get another point of view. \r
\r
I too went to another provider every 6 months with a great check up every time. However, I learned I need a crown on a tooth that my old dentist never mentioned. Surprised by the xray that they can pull up on a computer right in front of you, I was a little upset that my old office never told me about it. In fact, this dentist saved me from having to get a more expensive procedure down the road. I felt that the staff was genuine, personable and was only interested in making sure that I was aware of things going on in my mouth. Never felt pressure to get it done, they simply let me know and told me they would be available whenever I wanted to address it. \r
\r
Unfortunately, when people don't want to embrace the fact that maybe their mouths aren't in perfect condition, they do the blame game on the ones ""breaking the news."" And really, how many dental offices are willing to work with you and your finances anyway? I was shocked that I even could pay over time. My last office NEVER did that. Always wanted it ALL....NOW. \r
\r
I would definitely recommend this office because I walked out with a great smile and a great sense that they will be taking care of me and my family in the future. \r

Yeah, like the other review, I just went in for something simple, and was told I needed two crowns. Huh. Despite having a perfect check-up 6-8 months ago from my home-town dentist, I am in need of 2 crowns? Right.

The office and staff itself is nice enough, but I can't help feeling that the whole experience is to impress you with their technology and then spring a big bill on you. Oh, they'll even help you set up a payment plan for that big bill, too! :P

I did have a free cleaning done, but even this felt empty: it was done very roughly, and it did not feel comprehensive at all. Skipping from tooth to tooth, doing one side and not the other, etc..

I will NOT be going back here, and I HOPE my next dental appointment with a new dentist will feel more satisfying.

They'll suck you in with cheap/free X-rays and cleanings, but they really make their money by claiming you need pricey crowns, bridges, etc. I tried them for the first time recently and though my teeth were just fine at my last dental visit six months ago, I suddenly need thousands of dollars of work. Interesting.

And the cleaning was the quickest and most superficial that I've ever had--the scraping was a laugh. Seems like they're more interested in having my teeth decay so that they can charge to fix them rather than doing good preventative care.

The office just felt like a weird cult. None of the interactions felt genuine and they were clearly just out to get as much money from me as possible.

The staff here is very friendly, and explained my options for necessary work very well. I never felt pressured to opt for more expensive procedures. The email appointment confirmation is very handy as well. I will return to this location on a regular basis.
