Run like the wind

by dowd

I had a pipe burst 12-2008 and frozen pipes. To replace 3 foot section of pipe and thaw 2 other short pipes it was $800 for 3 hours labor and parts for a plumber and his apprentice. I had no idea that rocket scientist rates applied for plumbing. After a year I realized that they never finished the job and then after making at least 5 phone calls it is still not fixed. Too big a company to get their stuff together. I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Pros: none

Cons: ridiculous prices, poor service

A big ripoff

by Pdxhome

For one hour's work to replace a faucet, they charged $320! When we called up to complain, the owner at first claimed the faucet was included in the price, and when he realized it wasn't (we had bought it separately), told us that was a standard rate regardless of time and "cheap for the service". Our fault for not checking the details, but I'm surprised they've stayed in business with these kind of rates. By the way, they won't quote you a price before coming out, and give you the impression that a basic job would cost $150 including the travel fee. It doesn't. Oh, and they also suggest all kinds of other things that you "need" to do in your house, making it sound like you're going to have huge problems if you don't do these. Definitely would NOT use or recommend.

Pros: Professional in actual work

Cons: Inaccurate price, high price, tries selling services

Very professional, good service.

by DBleyle

Casey's had done several projects for us and they have always been very professional. They come when they say they will and the work is first rate. Now they have electricians and drain cleaners as well. I recommend them.

Pros: Knowledgeable staff, reliable.

Cons: A bit expensive, but worth it.

Great Service

by Gbeck

I have been using Casey's Plumbing since May 2006. Most of the jobs have been fairly routine replacement of valves, faucets, etc., but some work has been more extensive. The pricing structure may seem high to some, but it is the same whether it takes an hour or all day. Plus it is guaranteed. I never worry that the job was done improperly. As a Diamond Club member there are also additional benefits. The workers are professional and will explain anything you ask of them.

Pros: Highly Depenable

Awesome Company!

by skellyaussie

I have worked with Casey's for a long time. I originally found them on Angie's List and have been completely satisfied.

Casey's replumbed my entire house. They kept me informed all the way through the process and did quality work. Not only do they guarantee their work, they make sure they do it right the first time.

They do quality, professional work. I'm even a Diamond Card carrier becasue I trust them to treat me fairly and honestly.

Just today, my faucet had a leak. They came in, fixed it, and left all for NO charge.

They rock.

Pros: Reliable, thorough, honest, and professional

Cons: None

do not use

by starmint

We had a small faucet leak. We were charged far too much. $150 just to walk in the door. Being new in the area, we just picked blind.
Big mistake. Yes, the problem was corrected in a few minutes, but we paid much, too much. Then, they left signs everywhere -- in all the bathrooms and on the water heater. Do not use!!

Pros: nothing

Cons: way too expensive and leaves signs everywhere

DON'T BELEIVE ALL POSTINGS YOU READ.

by willowwood55

I found Casey's Plumbing on Angie's List and was very impressed with what it said about this company and had them out to replace my water heater. It did cost more than I thought it would but that's probably because it came with fantastic warranties and an air tank for expansion.

I Later I needed my pipes replaced and the owner himself came out to give me the bid. I found the owner and his employees to be surprisingly professional. Their work was great and the way they protected my floors and furniture really impressed me.

So after reading the negative reports here, I asked Mr. Casey if he was aware of them. What he told me is why I'm alerting others to do their home work before hiring a contractor and don?t believe everything you read on the internet. Google City Search reports aren't verified for accuracy and anyone, even jealous competitors, can write any thing they want. Whereas, Angie?s List provides an opportunity for response by the business so the consumer can be insured of a balanced and fair report. And message boards that don?t allow the company to respond in kind are especially suspect. Angie?s List verify complaints and allow the contractor to post a response next to the complaint.

So, bottom line; when using any service company that comes into your home, ask for references, ask if the workers have been back ground checked and most of all, use verifiable sources like Angie's List.

Pros: Honest, professional and great to work with.

Marked my house like a dog

by disasterguy

Caseys plumbing came to my house "inspected" all the plumbing upstairs and down. As they went throughout my house the employee put stickers on anything plumbing related. When she was finished she explained to me my leak was not a leak(even though my ceiling was dripping) and charged me over $100 for a site visit. These guys are awful!!! Don't use them unless you want to be frustrated and burn money.

Pros: Aren't any

Cons: I now have to use acetone to get all the stickers off!!

AWFUL, don't call!

by mguice96

Awful customer service, rude, argumentative and snippy person answering the phone. They won't give you an estimate for a standard procedure without charging $150 to come out first and its non-refundable. Only part of that even applies should you choose to use their services! Come on gas isn't THAT high yet!

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID

by jkfhomegroup

DON'T USE - AGREE WITH OTHER 3 REVIEWS SHOWING - DON'T KNOW HOW THEY ARE REFLECTING 4 STARS - EVIDENTLY THE EMPLOYEES ARE WRITING REVIEWS TOO

OVER PRICED - SLICK SALESMEN IN PARTICULAR THE OWNER - TECHS SEEM FRIENDLY

I HAD AN OLD RELIABLE PLUMBER AND THIS CLOWN BOUGHT THE PHONE NUMBER AND I ACCIDENTLY CALLED THEM AND WORSE USED THEM

WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A $300 AT MOST TURNED INTO OVER $700 - EXTRA CHARGE HERE / EXTRA CHARGE THERE - THE OWNER ALSO TOLD ME HE WOULD CHECK ALL THE VALEVES ETC IN THE HOUSE - HE LEFT HIS STICKER EVERYWHERE - INSIDE THE TOILET TANK AS AN EXAMPLE - ALSO CHANGED THE AERATORS ON SOME SINKS WHICH HAVEN'T BEEN THE SAME SINCE - IN FACT IT SEEMS EVERYTHING HE TOUCHED (EXCEPT THE $700 ITEM) HAS BROKEN SINCE, I THINK THEY WERE MAKING THINGS GO WRONG IN A FEW WEEKS TO GET ANOTHER SERVICE CALL.

Pros: SHOWED UP WHEN PROMISED

Cons: TOTAL RIP OFF

Worst Plumbing Company in PDX

by zenviolet

Do not use this plumbing company. Research your plumbers first...go on Citysearch, ask your friend, it will pay off. Don't make the same mistake I did in my desperateness, I called the first plumber I found in the book. While the technicians were friendly, they did not indicate any pricing to us during their visit. Like the other reviewer said, they were friendly like used car salesmen, they are friendly because they are trying to convince you that your situation is dire and that you need to buy into what they are selling. In a nutshell our visit entailed having 2 drains snaked, a part of our p-trap drain replaced and a special product they use called Bioclean - poured down all of our drains. The entire time, the technician made it sound as if they could do this really quick, and you need to have this done and that it won't cost much. They also charged us $99 chemical fee because we poured Draino down our pipes to try to clear them - claiming that they had to rinse out the pipes because of this? Anyway, they were at our house for 1-1/2 hrs - and our total bill came to $621.45. I called to dispute the bill and the technician tried to explain and justify everything and would not let me get a word in edgewise. Lesson learned, always do research first, never sign the invoice in "acceptance of work performed" at the end of any service if you have a problem with the breakdown of costs, and don't ever call Casey's Plumbing.

For various reasons my husband and I did not find Casey's Plumbing helpful in obtaining a bid for our plumbing project. Please feel free to make your own decision.

Pros: Came when they said they would

Cons: Poor customer service
