I was so excited to try Chifa. I've been a fan of Jose Garces and his restaurants for a while. My husband and I wanted to take my parents out for a night on the town. We were seated prompted, in the corner which had lack luster decor.

I was excited to finally try Chifa for brunch but was quickly let down. While the restaurant only had three tables seated there was a couple before us waiting. We waited and waited and waited. The server walked by us twice and never looked

This restaurant is a "Small Plate-Family Style-Asian Latin Fusion" restaurant. My husband and I went there for lunch and we were generally impressed with the decor and the food. Some of the appetizers (the Ecuadorian Cheviche) were a little over salted and under lemoned.

The Asian/Latin fusion takes some getting used to for the uninitiated. Definitely do the group sampler. The pork buns are a signature dish, but I like the fish dishes best.

Chifa has been open for almost a year. I went there a few weeks back and it was amazing. Some of the ceviche is incredible and the family style tapas is always a great time. A bit pricey though, so be prepared to spend.
