I have been a customer since the salon opened, Tonya has been my stylist. I have always been pleased with her service and ethics that the salon represents.
This salon will go the extra mile to accomodate my schedule regardless. They always greet me by name with a smile. I'm very happy with Modern Enhancements and wouldnt dare think of going anywhere else.

I have been a client at Modern Enhancement for about 2 years and I can't imagine ever going anywhere else. Their front desk staff is so wonderful. They're always so pleasant and efficient when I call to make an appointment. Abby, their new Manager is such a great addition. I just love her! She remembered to ask me about a trip I had gone on, just sweet as can be. I would recommend anyone try them out, you will be hooked! Customer service is so hard to come by anymore and to go into a place where they not only remember your name, but they remember your husband and kids names is so wonderful! I went to this spa today and got Eyelash Extensions! I had already trusted them with my hair extensions because they did such a great job with them, so I decided to trust them with my eyes as well. This is the best thing I have done for myself in a very long time! I was comfortable the whole time and my lashes look amazing! Just in time for the holidays, I have glamorous lashes without mascara!

I've had my hair extensions done by another salon for over a year, since they were my salon i used for cuts, color etc. My friend had her extensions done by Tonya at modern enhancements and i was so envious,her hair felt better then mine and the bonds were smaller. So i called and made an Appt. I just recently had my old bonds removed that the other salon did and Tonya replaced them in less then 2 hours. I have been a user of extensions for a very long time and I've NEVER had them done so fast and placed so well. The colors match perfect. If you want quality work go see her. You will love her work and the salon is so inviting!

Went in after droping my son off at storybook safari since its in the same shopping center. I had a pedicure, the area was so clean and they had like 5 different kinds of pedicures to pick from. I got the Hawaiian, she used hot rocks and they served me fresh pineapple slices. That's a first, but i guess it goes with the whole theme. At any rate- try them out, its alot better then the dirty nail place up the street.

I love this place! From the moment you walk in, everyone there is so friendly and warm. It is the most beautiful salon/spa in the area! I felt relaxed and comfortable from start to finish. What a pleasant experience! Sarah did my eye lash extensions with precision and care. I am crazy about them! Definitely hooked! I have been going to this salon since they opened the doors, I get my color, pedicures, facials and eyebrow waxes there. I was told last week about the citysearch voting taking place. If your reading this post i want you to know this salon is AMAZING. There is so much attention to detail! The skills, decor and just the way they make you feel when you walk in the door is fabulous. They always make me my favorite- green tea with fresh mint and honey. Everyone always greets me and makes me feel so special- i have been to some salons and the other stylists never even smile. I dont know how they do it but they are always cheerful! I love this place! Thank you all for being so wonderful.

I just had my xtensions done on Friday! OMG- I luv 'em so much. I was kinda worried Tanya wouldnt be able to match my color since its highlighted. BUT WOW! She did! I think she put like 4 different colors in my head and 4 hot pink ones at the bottem. If you want great xtensions go see her, tell her Kara sent you cause i told her i was going to send her everyone i knew! I also had the Minx nails done at the same time, they are so cool!

I have been going to Modern Enhancements since the day they opened. The ladies that work there make you feel so welcome and are always friendly and helpful with all my questions. I love the extentions that Tonya put in for me.. have never had one bit of trouble with them!! The salon itself is gorgeous and it offers everything I need to feel great in one place. Amy is my stylist and she is incrediable!! I get nothing but complements since she started doing my color!! Oh and the massage room is awesome!! Love it all ... I can't wait for my next appointment !!!!!

My daughter and I both have used Tonya's hair extension expertise for over 5 years now. There is absolutely no one in the area that has been providing hair extension services for as long as Tonya. No one can provide the quality of service or the product selection like Tonya. When you walk into her studio, you are immediately greeted by her well-trained, friendly staff. Tonya makes sure from the time you walk in until the time you leave that your experience there is special. You feel so pampered! I would not go anywhere else and would recommend her services to anyone.

I have been going to Modern Enhancement exclusively since moving to Raleigh almost 2 years ago.
I have been getting extensions for years, in cities like NY and LA, and Tonya does them better, faster, and with a higher level of quality than anywhere I've ever been. NO One can believe that that the hair is not my own; it is so natural looking...and the self esteem boost I gain from it is priceless!
I also get my color and Brazilian straightening done by Amy at the salon, who is incredibly talented and who intiutively knows exactly what i want and how to work with my somewhat difficut hair in a way that no other stylist ever has.
The salon itself is visually stunning, the girls are beautiful inside and out and truly care about their clients, and it is an absolute pleasure to be there every time. I dont know what i would do without them...I honestly am a client for life!

I have been going to Modern Enhancement for many years and would never go anywhere else! Tonya takes great pride in her salon from the modern decor, array of spa services, exceptional stylists and choices of hair extensions. I get so many compliments on my hair extensions, hair color and the products my stylist picked out for me. If you want proof of how the services can improve your looks, just make a visit to the salon .... everyone that works there is attractive, getting their hair done, facials, nails and even eyelash extensions! I have already told Santa, just get me a Modern Enhancement Gift Certificate!! Thats all I want!

I've been to this salon about 5 xs already, i got a coupon in the coupon mag for hair extensions. The first time i thought wow they are way toooo nice, almost seems fake. But i have been there several more times and they're always super nice, i guess you just dont get this much anymore so its shocking when you do. Tanya does a great job with my extensions, i love my hair! I'm there to stay.

My wife gave me a Gift Certificate here for my birthday. I've never been to spa but now, I know I'll be going back. As soon as I called they made me feel very comfortable. I told them I felt a little weird going into a girly spa and they offered to let me come in through the back if it would make me feel more comfortable. I got a 1 hour massage with Kelly and it was incredible. Then I had a GQ facial with Sarah. I was so relaxed when I left. It was the best 2 hours I've had in a long time! I never felt uncomfortable and know I will definetly go back! I've never written a review for anything, but I believe you should give credit where credit is due, and these girls definetly deserve it!

I have finally found the perfect salon! I just got a Brazilian treatment with Amy and it's amazing! The entire experience was just what you want when you go to a salon. Everyone was so friendly and inviting, made you feel right at home. Amy was extremely knowledgeable and I could tell I wasn't just "another appointment" she really wanted to make sure everything was perfect! I really can't recommend Modern Enhancement enough. I'm just sad I didn't find it sooner!

I went to this beautiful Spa to have Eyelash Extensions applied and couldn't be happier with the way they look! They feel so natural, but my lashes are thicker and longer, and I don't have to wear mascara! Sarah asked me what kind of look I wanted and gave me exactly what I described. She explained how to maintain the lashes to keep them on as long as possible, to save me time and money! When I go back for a touch-up I'm going to get a facial or peel at the same time, and I'm thinking about hair extensions! I love this salon! Highly recommend it!

Tonya has been doing my hair for almost 2 years, she told me today during my appointment about the nominations for citysearch. I feel so bad i never took the time to write something before today but i never even knew this site excisted. When i first came to her i had just finished all my treatments for breast cancer, and i wanted a consult to see what my options were, mind you my self esteam was way down. Opon meeting with her i instantly felt at ease, she just has this way about her that makes you feel like you are so special. (i always call her a hand holder, with jokes! lol) She gave me back the hair i had before i lost it. I remember crying cause i couldnt believe it looked so natural. To this day i still use extensions, not as many but enough for just thickness. I love mine! Oh and the salon is so pretty too!

I am new to the area and have been looking for someone who has experience to apply eye lash extensions. I tried others in Raleigh and have been disappointed with their work. I moved from LA, where I used to get Novalash extensions from a girl I adored. I was starting to think I may have to fly back there for them! Thank goodness I found Sarah at Modern Enhancement! She has several years of experience and it shows! She has converted me to Xtreme Lashes, and I love them!! Her attention to detail and genuine warmth leaves you with a great feeling and you know she really cares about making your lashes perfect for you!! I am ecstatic I finally found the best place in Raleigh for eye lash extensions (and more!), and that I won't have to catch a plane to get a touch up!!!

I found this salon by using Citysearch and reading the reviews, so I thought I would post on it to let others know what I experienced. I was looking for a hair extension place, I did a search for ?Raleigh extensions? and this salon was like the 4th or 5th there were some others above them. I went to one of the other places that said they did extensions, they were ok but I didn?t feel 100% and I wanted at list 3 consults, because I have read that you should really do your homework when you?re looking for hair extensions. Modern enhancement was my second consult and Tanya the extension girl consulted with me. After my 20 minutes with her, knowledge and kindness about my hair loss condition I didn?t even want to go to my other consult. She did my extensions like 4 days later. I love them, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! She used a few different colors and like 2 different methods to give me the most natural look. Tanya has changed my life and I am forever thankful. If you want good service go there!!! They are all so nice.

I cannot say enough about The Modern Enhancements salon, service, or staff! From the moment that you enter through the front door, you are made to feel welcomed by the curtious and professional staff, and look forward to the pampering that truly makes 'ME' unique. (not to mention that the ambiance of the salon draws you in and makes you feel relaxed and 'taken away'...) I found this tucked away secret by eating next door at Lemongrass Thai. The salon had there door open and i heard, water falling and Jazz music. Oh and this wonderful smell of gardenias was flowing out the door. I told my friend lets go in and take a peek! WOW what a beautiful salon, The front door staff was so nice they even took use for a tour. They said the owner does all the decorating. I have since went back and had my hair cut and styled, The girl did a great job. i have a facial next week. I cant wait. Ill keep you posted.

I love going to Modern Enhancement. Everytime I go, the staff is So friendly and they always have new services and specials going on. I just got eyelash extensions put on for the first time, and they look fabulous. I also received a massage and of course got my extensions touched up, and as always I left feeling and looking great! I just wanted to say thanks for always doing a great job and keeping me looking great!!!

I am so excited with my new look. I just received some extensions by Tonya that look FABULOUS, omg they look great! I have driven pretty much all over North Carolina looking for someone who does extensions well, and I finally found her :) On top of that, the stylist Nadally (spelling?) who did my cut was amazing. It looks great!

I have had some very bad experiences in the past when getting my hair cut. I've had stylist hack away 4 inches when I just wanted a trim, choppy layers, and uneven cuts. NOT HERE!! My stylist was so sweet and I told her I only wanted a 1/2 inch off, and that is what she did! I was so happy that for once someone actually listened to what I said. I also like the fact that they offer hair extensions, because I have always wanted to have longer hair, and now I am very tempted to tr them out!! I highly recommend this salon!!!

I had Hair Extensions by Modern Enhancement Salon and they look amazing! It was better then I could even imagine! The staff is so nice and helpful and the salon was so clean and relaxing. The hair was a perfect match, I AM SO HAPPY! Thank You So Much. The only bad thing would be that the plaza is very busy at lunch time so it was hard for me to find a parking spot. I can deal with that in order to have great hair! If you want a new look from people you can trust call the salon!

I loved this salon from the moment I stepped through the door. Not only is this the trendiest and cutest salon I've been to, the staff is also so welcoming. The customer service was unbelievable and I also loved that they carry Bumble and Bumble, which is hard to find. I had the La-Brasilinia Straightener done and I'm sooo happy with my hair. It hasn't been this silky and smooth ever! I will definitely be back to this salon for all my hair needs!

I had the best time ever after getting my hair highlighted and cut at Modern Enhancement. The staff all made me feel so welcome, and I got a snack and drink while I was waiting for my stylist. The best part was how my stylist listened to everything I said and then created it! She did exactly what I told her, and my hair turned out great. I am so happy that I tried this salon...I am SO happy wioth my hair I love it! Oh and I got this great Bumble and Bumble shampoo, and for the first time ever, I actually like the product I brought home with me :)

I had been struggling with thinning hair, I wished I could have the hair I used to have in High School but it would never grow for me.....I have been so jealous of other people with thick, long gorgeous hair. One day I was sitting with my friend and we were talking about how I wear a baseball hat all the time because I am so un happy with my hair. She confessed that she had Hair Extensions. I DIDN'T BELIEVE HER! I made her show me because all this time I never knew...Hair looked so natural, so beautiful. She told me about Tonya so I called to schedule my consultation appointment. The day I went there was a woman who had just gotten her Hair Extensions and they looked Fabulous, she was SOOOO HAPPY. She was talking about how it was so worth it to her to drive 4 hours to get to the Salon from Asheville in order to have beautiful hair. As I waited for my turn I looked at the before and after pictures from Tonya?s clients over the many years that she has been doing Hair Replacement...THE PICTURES ARE MIND BLOWING, you would never know that these people had anything done, everyone looked so natural. The day I had my Extensions placed I felt like a NEW WOMAN!!! It took Tonya only two hours to put all of my New Extensions in. To see your whole look transform in just two hours is almost unexplainable. Everyone in my life told me how amazing I looked, and how you could never even tell I had Extensions, the match was PERFECT! I got my extensions yesterday and they are absolutly FABULOUS!! When I walked into her salon I immediatly knew that it was going to be an awesome expierience. Tonya is gorgeous and she does her own extensions....my first clue besides the decor in the salon that she was the real deal. I was nervous about spending money on my hair but let me tell you...she has the best prices for the BEST hair and she takes her time to make it look the way you want.
I wanted to get my hair done before I went home for the holidays and I called her the week before I left. At most places, this wouldn't have been possible, but she took the time to over-night my hair and squeeze me into her schedule. I had a great time hanging out with her and she is a great conversationalist (its important when you are hanging out for an hour or so!)
She is quick and effecient and KNOWS HER STUFF!!! She is multi-faceted and VERY educated...she knew EXACTLY what colors to use without even seeing me first!
There is a BOGUS review above mine. I read all of them on this site before I went in for my appointment and now that I have gotten my hair extensions and spent time with Tonya I am absolutly positive this lady is a PSYCHO. There is no way Tonya would ever let someone leave her salon unhappy, and she is the best in the business!
I have already made another appointment to see her. Even when I move to Los Angeles I'll still be coming back!

I am a senior at Elon University and when I came home yesterday with my hair done (It was previously a very short blonde bob, way above my shoulders) people that have known me for four years barely noticed me and were BLOWN AWAY. I can't tell you how many people that have told me I look totally hot....so be prepared for an entourage!

I am so glad I have found Tonya and Modern Enhancement. I have lived all over the United States (LA, Atlanta, New York) and recently moved to Raleigh. I have had extensions in all the cities where I previously lived and some in other Raleigh salons before I found Modern Enhancement and Tonya is by far the best.
Her salon is very clean and discreet. I will never go to another hair extension salon no matter where I am living or working at the time.

If you're going to spend 800-1000 to get your hair done, I wouldn't recommend going to a home salon, especially if you aren't 100% sure you're getting the hair you're paying for. .. for example some brands carry better hair then others. I had my extensions done by tonya 2 times and she had the nerve to suggust that I color the glue she used to match the dark color of the hair she added. What a shabby establishment. Also, the woman she suggested to cut my hair ruined it and she didn't respond to my request to add hair fast enough (it was coming up on memorial day weekend) I was walking around with a new head of extensions and the left side of my hair was short and the right side was long... It shed, it feel out. The application was good in regard to quickness... but I would suggest researching the best quality hair extensions widely used by celebrities... and get them done in Cary... the service is wonderful and the women who own the salon are AWESOME!! You're going to pay a little more but the hair quality is great and the lunch they buy you is even better.... talk about star treatment without feeling you're in a snarky place!!

The main concern I had was cross hairs, mismatched color, mismatched hair type (I have fine hair she used thick hair -that more so matched hers)... Really, if you're that serious about extensiuons and you don't want to damage your own hair in the process... spend the extra money.... you will be so happy you did...
You'll look like a queen instead of trailertrash trying to look "hollywood"

I lived in Charlotte for many years before moving to the Raleigh area. I had been getting extensions done in Charlotte for over two years now. Upon moving here, I was very worried about getting extensions done by another salon. I did extensive research on the many salons and extension professionals in the area. I chose Modern Enhancement and I am very happy I did! The web site was very easy to maneuver through and the information was very informative. The best part was Tonya's very personal attention to my needs. She took the time to make sure I had the correct hair, hair color, and technique. I believe if I were to move back to Charlotte, I would drive to Raleigh just to get my extensions done. Thank you Tonya! S

I recently had the "So Cap" extensions done at an area salon. I was so disappointed. I have had my hair cut and colored at this salon for years, they are awesome at color and cuts, etc. They just started doing extensions, they talked me into them. I did love the thickness -- but the color and texture was all wrong. I have highlighted blonde hair with a slight wave. After 2 hours into receiving extensions she told me I was the 4 th client she had done. I thought great, thanks for charging me an experienced price! I paid $2200.00. It took her 7 hours to apply my extensions. I called Modern Enhancement for advice, I spoke with Tonya she gave me the best advice as to what to do. I loved her professionalism in the hair extension world. She was so knowledgeable about extensions. She told me her view and prices and then gave me 3 other salon numbers to contact in the Raleigh area to get price quotes, no pressure at all, she was so confident. At that point I knew I wanted her to do my hair. She was booked up for the next 3 weeks, but I finally got in. She did my hair, and it looks beautiful, my husband loves it too. I paid half the cost and it took her 2 hours to apply. Perfect color match, texture and cut. Connie cut my extensions, she too is wonderful. It's been 5 weeks now and I've had no problems at all. I'm so glad I took the "so cap" out and applied the hairdreams hair method. Tonya is a true artist. I'm so fortunate to have found her. I love my new hair!

I recently relocated from the Greater Atlanta area. I had had hair extensions before. I researched the Raleigh area professionals that did hair extension and found Modern Enhancements. Tonya was fantastic and help me decide on the best program for me. Tonya is is one of few highly trained porfessional in African American hair. As a result we selected the hair that best worked for me and the process was painless and very rewarding. My hair looks great and Tonya was amazing. I will be a long term customer and would recommend ME to all my friends.
