The Olive Tree Mediterranean Cafe in Hilliard, OH hosts a variety of fresh and authentic Mediterranean menu items, some unique to the Columbus area. Guests love our homemade hummus, machmusa (eggplant slow-cooked with tomatoes and onion), tzatziki and spicy feta served with warm pita bread. Pita sandwiches, made fresh to order, include the popular gyro, falafel, kafta kabob and chicken gyro. For dinner, choose from lamb kabob, chicken lemonato or spicy gyro served with savory rice and lentil soup or Greek salad; or our chicken shawarma over hummus. Vegetarians love our mujadara (a blend of lentils and rice topped with grilled tomatoes and onions) or the vegetarian platter (grapes leaves, falafel, hummus and tabouli). Prices are affordable and the atmosphere is relaxing. Dine in for lunch or dinner or call ahead for carry out.

good food vs. sanitary standards

The food is really great and fresh! The customer service by the owner is wonderful! It became my top restaurant for the west side of town upon my first visit. I looked so forward to going back again.
My next visit was met with some concern. As we waited to sit down (large group), some of the baskets they use to put the pita bread in, fell to the floor. Instead of taking them to the kitchen, they were stacked and placed back with the rest on the counter. When I mentioned it to an employee, she was displeased with me.
I love their food. I want them to stay in business, so I spoke up. She begrudgedly took the baskets back to the kitchen.
As a result, I lost my appetite and my interest in this restaurant. Sanitation is just as important to me as great food. If you love great food and don't mind the sanitation concern, go!

My new favorite restaurant!

Finally had dinner at the Olive Tree and can't wait to go back. We enjoyed everything from the fresh made food to the warm atmosphere. The owners were so friendly and the staff so accommodating. Loved the variety and flavor of the appetizers (great eggplant dip) and the Lebanese wine with our delicious dinners (chicken shish kabob, beef shawarma). Going back soon to try some of the other things on the menu.

The Olive Tree was fantastic! It had a great selection of entrees for vegetarians. The spicy feta and the wine selection alone were worth going back for.

Delicious hommus and greek salad!

Very tasty food, excellent Greek salad dressing and the hommus is the best we've had anywhere. Especially love the Olive-Treo, a sampling of three dips and pita. Great value and friendly owners, nice for dining in or carryout.

Great food and wine!

The food is amazing here! Had delicious hummus as an appetizer, then a chicken gyro that was mouthwatering-best I've had in Columbus. Nice selection of wines as well, there's something for everyone. Planning on taking my husband there ASAP-I'm craving a gyro!

this a great family place. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere friendly and inviting with great service. Excellent mediterranean food that our family is working through the menu. I am a veggie and they have great choices for me. My husband says they have the best gyros he has ever had.

Outstanding Authentic Middle Eastern Food

Take a large group of people like we did and order family style so can try a different dishes-because the flavors are indeed varied!
We followed our waitress's recommendation trying a number of new dishes including multiple appetizers and main courses. We found the dishes we were already familiar with to be delicious and were pleasantly surprised as we tried new dishes that will be on our favorites list next visit.

Amazing food!

Best mediterranean I have had in columbus, there was so much flavor in my chicken! On top of the food being so good the owner was so nice. My friends and I will be back and this time I'm taking how two chocolate baklavas!
