.

Let us start with the fact that my project which began on June 26th 2010 when Roger received his first $1000 deposit for measuring my kitchen, was to be finished by Thanksgiving of 2010. The time the last check was written was November 13 2010 (in advance) and covered 100% of what WAS to be done. Today is mid-May and I still have unfinished bathrooms and unfinished kitchen. I have entrusted my design to Roger. Kind and polite man gave me an impression of being a credible individual. Being a single mother with a small child I was glad to find a person whom I thought was going to cater to my needs which were design of kitchen and two bathrooms including the purchase of all necessary appliances. I learned my lesson the hard way: This person is not to be trusted with anything. Be sure not to rely on Roger. You should purchase everything yourself, and you should always check the costs, especially if you are not sure where the items are purchased. Roger has never provided me with any original invoices. All I got was piss-poor quality Excel spreadsheets. This person masked all of his suppliers from me. It was not until later that I by accident have learned that Roger charged double or triple the actual costs. Here are some examples: My exact drinking water faucet, filter and its delivery from the original manufacturer was $248, Roger charged me $583. For two boxes of tile for the bathroom the local Newton store would charge me $275. Roger charged $800. My exact model of InsinkErator at a chain hardware store costs $169. Roger charged $369. Also have paid $881 for 15 LED lights and two power supplies for the kitchen cabinets . The local store??s price for these was $400. Only 5 of the lights were actually installed. Roger took the other lights and said he would need them for other jobs. I have repeatedly asked for refund for these lights since February and my e-mails and phone calls regarding this matter were ignored. As part of the design back splash glass behind the cook top was to be installed. Local store would charge about $1000 for this. Roger charged $3131.00. Also, Roger never said how much he was actually charging for his services. I could never find where the tile, counter top, or kitchen pieces were ordered from , until I read the labels on what has arrived. Roger also took great care to ensure that the deliveries arrived without any invoices. In fact my boyfriend saw glass shower door delivery man with delivery list that explicitly stated on it to make sure customer does not see the invoice. When I added all the checks I wrote to Roger?? they totaled $68000 for the small (11?? x 15??) kitchen , bathroom (5?? x 4??) and tiny full bathroom (6??x 4??). This is the sum that was paid in November 2010. Roger, according to the contract, promised me that he would take responsibility for the design of kitchen and would do everything in his power to finish the project according to his highest standards . Every time I would ask him to e-mail me the balance sheet for the job that would reflect paid and unpaid totals I would always receive separate pieces of information, such as a piece of invoice for parts of kitchen mixed with parts of bathroom and another piece for the bathroom. I had insisted on getting the totals several times. I have received the last balance sheet via e-mail on October 6th 2010 which reflected the total of $38000. Since then my repeated requests for balance sheets have fallen on deaf ears. A search engine shows there are 6 reviews on Yelp. Where are they? When the first bad review from another customer of his appeared on Yelp appeared sometime at the end of February of 2011, Roger was here the next day apologizing for project timelines and promising to finish the job. Prior to this review the project was simply abandoned. I was unable to reach him either by e-mail or by phone, and therefore was forced to take on his responsibilities and order missing shelves and mirrors for the bathrooms , missing handles and knobs for the kitchen cabinets along with missing trim kit for the microwave. The absence of the trim kit had left me staring at the hole in my kitchen until I was able to order it myself. Note that the correct trim kit did not actually exist because Roger took it upon himself to select the microwave that did not have a trim kit to go with it. Moreover, the brand new microwave that Roger selected for me and ordered on February 2 2011 was manufactured in January 2007. To add the insult to the injury the bottom corner cabinet in the kitchen does not open for it hits the handle from the adjacent cabinet. Also, according to Roger, the missing crown molding , new bar cabinet and under the sink cabinets have been en route for 3 months . The bar cabinet due to miscommunication with Roger ended up being too short to fit my needs.
