I took my youngest daughter here. The wait staff were pleasant, and made my daughter and me feel welcome. Our waitress brought two loaves of bread and a variety of spreads in a basket. Though plain, the bread was good, but it would have been nice if we were given plates rather than having to eat the bread off of napkins.

My daughter had chicken fingers and French fries, standard kids fair. I ordered one of their specials for the night, the ribeye. It included a soup or salad and choice of side. I went for the cream of broccoli soup and baked potato. The soup though rich, was mellow in flavor, maybe even bland, but from my initial impressions it seemed much of their clientele are elderly, and their food might be designed to fit those tastes. The star of the meal was the ribeye. Salty, but not too salty, juicy, and meaty-I've paid more for less tender and flavorful cuts.

Not exceptional but good, especially considering the reasonable bill at the end of the meal, I'd be willing to try the food here again.

I must say I am underwhelmed with the quality of food and service at most of the restaurants in the Troy area. Mediocrity seems to be an acceptable standard. This place is no exception. I have worked in the food industry and lived in various parts of St. Louis County where I enjoyed an abundant variety of food and competition between establishments created high standards. The food is OK here, and I have never gotten a ??bad? meal, but on many occasions the service has been substandard. I expect my server to come back and check on my needs, fill drinks and not be so disruptive ??chatting? as to prevent me from carrying on a conversation with a dinner guest. The waitresses are generally friendly, but seem to lack experience and the turnover appears to be fairly high. When a hostess asks if everything is alright and then does not want to address any issues, it is frustrating. I had high hopes for this restaurant to opened up after the previous tenants went out of business. My wife and I eat a great number of our meals out and I long for a better experience.

We love Zadocks! We choose this restaurant almost every time we go out to eat. The staff is very friendly from the hostesses to the owners. My two boys (ages 2 and 4) are huge fans.
They have a wide range of food choices and will make breakfast items at all hours as well. My boys love to go there and get French toast at dinner time. I am a huge fan of their fettucine with chicken breast. It is a very large portion that I can never finish, but it is extremely well priced (under $10). Their meals come with salad or soup and rolls.
We've been visiting them since they opened and have never had a poor experience with our service or our food. I have always found them to be quick and our food to be cooked just right. I have ordered steak and burgers and they are always cooked like I asked.
There is a bar with smoking, but it is on the other side of the entrance. I am very sensitive to smoke and have never had any smell of smoke in the dining area.
The boys always finish off their meal with a scoop of ice cream. My husband and I rarely have room for dessert, but they always have a selection of pies and cakes to choose from. Their cakes and pies are always fresh.
The owner or manager always seems to be walking around and takes great interest in the customers.
They have a couple large tables and tables are not cramped so they can easily set up tables for large groups.
Overall, Zadocks is a great restaurant. It's comfortable, friendly, and very well priced.
