Ratings_icons Will NOT go back

I will not be taking my dog back. Its disappointing because it seems like they have potential, but with customer service was really bad. I took my dog for basic grooming because his regular groomer is not available. I asked the lady how long it would take and she advised me that about 2-21/2 hours. After 21/2 hours, I called to find out if my dog is ready and she told me that they still need 45 minutes or so. After 1 hour waiting, we expected that my dog would be ready so we went to the shop to find out he needed another 30 minutes. He had been bathed, but not groomed at all. They claimed to be behind due to a difficult dog. Shouldn't they have called us to advise they were running behind. Why do we have to chase after them to find out when our dog is ready?

To make matters worse, when we again went back after 30 minutes, he STILL wasn't ready. Some work had been done on him, but the groomer and the shopkeeper were having a chat while our dog was still in a cage. They both ran back and did a quick finish on him and finally, nearly 5 hours later, we got our dog back. He looks good, but it is clear they rushed the job. And then the charge was nearly $10 more than they had originally told me!

I am irritated with the situation. To make matters worse, I had advised them our dog is a puppy mill rescue who spent the first 5 years of his life in a cage, and that we really try to minimize the time he is in a cage during grooming. Both times we came in, we saw him in the cage, pacing back and forth clearly very distressed.

As a said, a phone call advising they were running back would have been an easy way to handle the situation. We could have decided whether to keep him there and, if so, when he was going to be ready.

And even worse, this place operates a doggie daycare. Why then, was our dog in a cage for so long. Upon learning of the delay, again, a smart move would have been to call us up and ask if he could be put in a more open space.

They operators seemed insensitive to the dogs and the owners. With so much competition out there, customer service rules the day. They failed on that essential task, and I will not be back.

Cons: insensitive to the dogs and the owners

I had another bad experience w/this place, the only reason why I gave them another chance becuase they had a so called special. First of all, I told them to give my dogs a poodle cut! I was so shock when I seen them, they shaved them all the way down, a very lazy cut!!! Then they had the nerve to charge me regular price when they called me and left a voicemail stating that they had a special for 25% off! Plus everytime I go there theirs a new groomer! Im sorry to say but I will never go over there! Im done with this fake *** pet spa!....Oh almost forgot when i got home w/them, my dogs were really sensative and was acting very strange.hmmmmm!!

Ratings_icons Not too good!

I have been there a few times to buy animal toys. Once I had a terrible experience with the Vet. She was terrible with my cat that was very sick. She used extremely painful techniques.

I saw a dog being groomed. The person doing the job dropped the dog right on the floor!

Every night when I walk by I notice the sweetest little dog is left all alone in the store at night. No air, no company. What happened to a loving home?

I can't imagine why anyone would bring their pets to a place that is cruel to Animals!

Pros: cute pets in the window

Cons: Not very nice people

Ratings_icons Excellent Service

angiet1200

This was my first time using kiki's and I was very pleased. My puppy is very particular and does not take to make people but she loved it there. The price is worth it because your pet is getting one on one service. No other pets around just them so its a calm relaxing environment. The groomer also took her time and did everything manually she did not use a caged driers like some other places. My puppy came out looking great and she was extra soft for weeks.

Pros: clear glass in store so a nervous pet owner can see everything that going on.

Cons: the wait might me a few hours

Ratings_icons DONT GO!

I thought this was going to be a nice place from what I saw in the reviews, but I got screwed! I had them watch my pets and they WAY over charged me! The owner told me the reason my bill was so hi is because he realized my house was a little out of the way. I should have been smart enough to not give him my credit card! He never ecen sent me a bill or invoice. Shady business!

Pros: I think they actually came to take care of my pets, but not sure

Cons: Bill had discrepancies

Ratings_icons Great grooming...nice people

I've been using Kiki's for the past few years and have never been disappointed. I've heard of dogs being traumatized when they leave the groomers but my Suzie is always happy to go there and seems quite happy when I pick her up. I've never had to wait more than a few hours to get Suzie back which is a much different experience from my previous groomer where I used to have to leave Suzie all day. I definitely recommend Kiki's!!!!!

Pros: great grooming, don't have to wait too long

Cons: sometimes difficult to get an appointment

I've been using a groomer in Park Slope that I wasn't happy with. I just tried them over this past weekend and loved it - my dog Mookie looks great and I love the little gift box they gave me. I'll def go back.

Pros: quick service, nice people, could see my dog being groomed

Ratings_icons love them - can't say enough good things

socadoggy

I've been using Kiki's for years and I love them. I've tried several different groomers and I'll admit that my dog is a handful but their groomers are the only ones who seem able to handle him and even have him leaving happy in the process. You can definitely tell when your dog likes his groomer and I know my dog loves that place. I also like that there is a big open window so you can see what's going on - and it doesn't smell doggy in there.

Pros: great groomers, good customer service, cute place that smells good
