There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe the brilliant and extraordinary Dr. Kristi Funk and her entire staff. I originally consulted with Dr. Funk when it was discovered that I carried the BRCA2 mutation.

Dr Kristi Funk and the staff at the Pink Lotus Breast Center are a godsend. When I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer a few years ago Dr. Funk was my surgeon. She was amazing - compassionate, super-competent, kind and informative.

I booked an appointment here for this morning at 8:15. I hadn't been here before but my radiologist had recently moved to this practice and I wanted the continuity. I was told to show up at 8 am, which I did. The woman at the front desk was on a personal phone call and barely glanced up at me. I told her I was there for an 8:15 appointment and needed to fill out the new patient paperwork. She nodded at me and I took a seat. 10 minutes later, after giggling on the phone the whole time, she got up and left and was replaced by another woman who didn't acknowledge me at all. I told her who I was and asked her if she had paperwork for me to fill out. She looked through a stack of files on her desk and couldn't find one for me. I tried to confirm that I had an appointment at 8:15 and she said she didn't know because her computer wasn't started yet. Seriously? It was now 8:12. I asked her if this was a real business. She looked confused. I told her I'd been there almost 15 minutes and was basically being ignored. She told me she had only met me 30 seconds ago so how could she have ignored me. If a business opens at 8 shouldn't the computer at the front desk be turned on and shouldn't the receptionist be prepared to greet people and sign them in. I said I had a lousy feeling about the place and walked out. Now I need to find a new place to get a mammogram. Only go here if you have all day to spend waiting for service.

I have very large breast and I am always feeling them for changes and lumps. One day after coming out the shower I noticed what I though was an indentation. Since I tend to have a very overactive imagination I started goggling everything about ""dimple"" and indentation. Bad move.... I was scared but researched breast specialist and stumbled on PLBC. What a wonderful place.....from the moment you dial and get a live person the tone is set...so nice, helpful, warm. then you walk into this non medicinal setting. Beautiful blonde wood with pink flower arrangements. Staff members in pink and black scrubs. filling out your with paperwork with a pink pen. The you are taken into the room and you don't put on a scratchy paper gown you're given an actual robe . Then in walks the beautiful, radiant, warm, intelligent Dr. Kristi Funk and all the pieces just fall into place. She put me at ease right away just by her being who she is.She checked my breast thoroughly told me I had overstrecthed ligament from have very large breast and to come back in 7 months when I turn 40. I have my mamo booked for Jan 5.2012. because I know if I should ever have to deal with any scare or the actual disease I would want her to be my wing woman. Dr. Funk and the staff of PLBC are doing a great thing. They have created a warm loving feminine enviornment to address the health of a woman's breast. You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't patronize PLBC.

PLBC is a gift and Dr. Kristi Funk is a blessing. I was diagnosed three years ago during a routine exam. My gynecologist, Dr. Ayanna Walden, found an odd shaped lump and immediately decided ""Let's just be safe, I am going to send you to my good friend for and exam"" I was 34, too young, no way this is cancer. So I headed over to meet Dr. Funk late on a Friday afternoon. I was the last appointment of the day. I was nervous. But the minute Dr. Funk walked into the room I knew I was in good hands. She was kind, bright, happy and informative. She was also not going to leaving anything on the table. After an ultrasound, she did a biopsy. I think about it now and am so thankful for the decisions both she and Ayanna made that day. They saved my life. I returned on Monday to find out the results were positive for cancer. Shock went through me like lightening. I couldn't talk, just cried. Kristi was upset as well but reassuring. She said this was going to be a long road but there was hope, always hope. I couldn't talk, but had to call my parents. When my mom picked up the phone I couldn't make a sound. I handed the phone to Kristi. I don't know why, it seemed unfair that she should have to tell my parents, but she did. It was such a kind and loving gesture. I had only know her for about an hour and in that that moment there was no question about who I was going to partner with in this fight. \n\nSince that day there have been many tests and follow up appointments a flawless lumpectomy. Kristi is a talented, skilled surgeon. And even more astounding, She moved mountains to open PLBC while pregnant with triplets! But that is Krisit, always hopful, positive, frank and caring, determined and ahead of the curve. \n\nPLBC is an amazing facility with a great staff. I truly believe that PLCB and Kristi will make a tremendous impact in the fight against breast cancer.

When my wife told me she had breast cancer I was floored-didnt know what to say. Trying to be a supportive husband I knew wanted her to have the best doctor possible but was feeling overwhelmed by the whole process. In the next couple of weeks we interviewed two surgeons and one oncologist but were unable to get answers or information that made sense.\nAfter speaking to a friend, the name Dr Kristi Funk came up. We looked at her web site and we were both impressed with her credentials and that she was a surgeon who specialized in the breast. \nWithin 48 hours we were in her office for a consultation. From the moment Dr Funk entered the room she made us feel comfortable and answered all of our questions and concerns. She left us, along with her approach to breast conservation, knowing that she was the doctor we were looking for. \nMy wife was able to have a lumpectomy in October and her prognosis is bright. We are enjoying life again. Thank you Dr Funk, and your wonderful staff for guiding us through this very difficult time. \n

Kristi Funk was my surgeon when I was treated for breast cancer in 2008. Her exceptional surgical skills are matched by her intelligence and compassion. She has always provided me with the information I need to make the decisions that are best for me, and she and her staff have always been responsive, supportive, professional, and kind. It gives me great peace of mind to have a physician I can trust so completely.

I truly cannot say enough about Dr. Kristi Funk and her phenomenal staff at the PLBC. Dr. Funk is insightful, personable, direct, gentle, kind, and concerned. I have had the unfortunate experience in the past of working with other doctors/centers who left me with more questions and concerns than I arrived with...this has never been the case with Dr. Funk. In fact, from the first visit, I knew that I was receiving the best care possible. Her staff is not only very skilled and professional but also incredibly thoughtful and kind. I am thrilled to recommend Dr. Funk and the PLBC. From the moment you enter the door, you receive the highest level of care delivered with a heart.

Earlier this year, I learned I needed to have surgery done within a week's time. I feel so very, very fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Kristi Funk. She is absolutely terrific - made me feel at ease right away with her knowledge, expertise and caring personality, She explained every step in detail (even drew pictures to illustrate what I have!) and was available to answer all of my questions and concerns pre and post-op. Plus the front office staff, surgical nurses and the insurance/billing folks at PLBC are all so helpful, positive and treat you as part of their extended family. Now that their digital mammogram center is up and running, I look forward to having my next mammogram there.\n\nIn all, I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by a circle of incredibly talented, compassionate and wonderful women doctors and staff who will help me navigate the years to come.\n\n

When I was told, in 2008, I needed to consult with a breast surgeon I asked everyone I knew for a recommendation. Kristi Funk's name came up more than once. She was grouped in with top surgeons from UCLA, St. John's and Cedars. When making my appointment I was greeted by a staff member with a sweet southern drawl and the reassurances that everything will be taken care of. Upon meeting Dr. Funk, with her professional, caring manner I knew I had made the right choice. Her enthusiasm and knowledge came through in conversation. She has never talked ""at"" me, but ""with"" me, taking the time to explain all procedures and findings. She is excited by all new developments and advancements that she can bring to her patients to make their lives easier in tough times. Kristi enjoys what she does and is gifted in all aspects of her practice. The Pink Lotus is a haven for women with breast issues. We are all uncomfortable, to varying degrees, by this part of our health regimen but knowing that when we step through the doors we are among the sisterhood we breathe easier. Driving an hour and a half into the city for my appointment is not exactly convenient but knowing that when I reach my destination I will be greeted by name, taken in at my appointment time and given the time and respect (and a nice fluffy spa-like robe) is more than worth it. While I am not a cancer patient, she gives my ""lumpy issues"" complete care and attention. Before Dr. Funk and Pink Lotus, I was shifted from one doctor to another. She has now told me I am ""under [her] care"" exclusively which makes me feel wonderful. I now make my appointments solely with Pink Lotus.

I first met Dr. Kristi Funk for a biopsy on a lump in my breast in 2007. I was 41 years old at the time, a little young for breast cancer, so I expected it to be nothing at all. But unfortunately, it was cancer. I'll never forget the moment Dr. Funk gave me the diagnosis. She hugged me as I cried trying to process what was happening. She reassured me that we would get the lump out of there right away. Dr. Funk takes pride in her surgical skills, and rightfully so. She moved tissue around in the breast after removing the tumor to make my breast look as good as it possibly could. There is no deformity whatsoever, just a slightly smaller breast than I had before, due to the tumor and surrounding tissue being removed. I think that's a reasonable trade-off for becoming cancer free! Dr. Funk treats me like a friend, not just a patient. She somehow puts me at ease about any fears or concerns I have about anything. She even reworked one of my cancer scars that had healed sort of strangely and made it look better. That's above and beyond what I would ever expect from a doctor! \n\nAny doctor who has asked me who did my lumpectomy has always had great things to say about Dr. Funk. So, not only is she respected by her patients, but by her peers in the medical field. My confidence in her only gets stronger over time.\n\nThe Pink Lotus Breast Center is a fantastic place with an incredibly sweet and friendly staff. It's almost as if Dr. Funk has walked in the shoes of a cancer patient, because she creates an environment of comfort, free of worry or fear. I followed Dr. Funk to the Pink Lotus Breast Center from her previous location because I feel that I am in the best hands possible, and wouldn't even consider changing doctors. \n\nIf you have a lump and need a biopsy, or a lumpectomy, go to the Pink Lotus Breast Center FIRST. You won't want to go anywhere else!

If you've been diagnosed with breast cancer, Dr. Kristi Funk is the surgeon to go to. It really doesn't matter where you live, you won't find a better doctor anywhere. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2009. It was a shock and as everyone who faced this diagnosis, I wasn't sure what to think. I imagined myself disfigured and bald and wasn't sure I wanted to do anything at all. I met with three surgeons when I was trying to decide on the course of action. I actually didn't even meet with one of them...I walked out of that office after 15 minutes in the waiting room. Another surgeon was a world-famous doctor and i was very impressed with his credentials but it was Kristi who won my heart. I spent three weeks deciding who to go with, calling their offices with questions and concerns. Dr. Funk was extremely patient with me, ALWAYS called me back and never made me feel like I was a nuisance. In the end, I'm SO grateful that I chose her! My surgery, I had a lumpectomy, went extremely well and the most amazing thing...I walked out of OR with a band-aid! No draining tubes, no bandages, no bruises! When I took off the band-aid a week later, I couldn't even see the scar! I still cannot believe how Kristi was able to do what she did. I've seen many scars on breast cancer survivors and I'm proud to say that you can't tell I've had anything done. Besides being a great surgeon, Kristi is an amazing human being: compassionate, caring, sweet and understanding. She doesn't just operate, she becomes a part of your life. I email her when I have questions for my girlfriends' concerns and she always responds. I truly prefer her over any of the other doctors I'm dealing with. She seems to know more about beating breast cancer than any oncologist I've consulted with. Thank you, Kristi!

Dr Krisit Funk is the BEST, most caring, accessible and amazing surgeon. When I first met her, she walked through the door and said, ""Hi, I'm Kristi!"". And I felt like she was my friend before my doctor. And she immediately diffused any tension I was having. Pink Lotus is the most comprehensive, friendly and wonderful center in Los Angeles if not America. It's everything, I want in a place and it offers an array of important services which are often overlooked by other doctors. The center and Dr Funk are unparalleled in their professionalism and care and I am so blessed to have found her.

It's everything, I want in a place and it offers an array of important services which are often overlooked by other doctors. The center and Dr Funk are unparalleled in their professionalism and care and I am so blessed to have found her.

Dr. Kristi Funk is an angel sent from above. When I found out I had cancer I was in shock and didnt know where to turn or what the outcome was going to be. To be honest, I was just plain scared but from the moment I met Kristi I knew she was the right surgeon for the me. I had met with two other top rated surgeons in Los Angeles and they failed in comparison to Dr. Funk. Kristi really took incredible care of me, explained everything to me every step of the way even if \nit took hoursIt didnt matter! She was there to make sure that I was comfortable with what was going to happen, that all my questions had been answered and that I really understood what the process was going to be. Im so happy that she was on my side. I really feel like she is my friend. I look forward to seeing her every six months for my check ups. She is one smart, classy, brilliant, beautiful ray of light! \n

I interviewed three different surgeons when I found out I had breast cancer and needed surgery. Dr. Kristi Funk stood out among the candidates for several reasons. Her warmth, the fact that she engaged me in conversation to understand what my fears and desires were, and her patience in explaining my options in straightforward language. I just wanted the cancer gone and said ""I don't care how my breasts look afterward."" But Kristi said that SHE cared, and she would do her best to remove the cancer, while making me look as good as possible. She did both with flying colors. My surgery was a lumpectomy and you can barely see the scar. I am 4 years clear of the cancer, and although Kristi cares for many patients, I still feel like I get personal treatment when I see her for my checkups. When I first interviewed Kristi I asked her why she chose to become a breast surgeon. She told me it was an area where she felt she could make a real difference in peoples' lives, while also having a life of her own, outside her work. It was a wonderfully honest answer. I highly recommend Dr. Funk and her team at the Pink Lotus Breast Center. They understand what you're facing, and they take excellent care of you.

No words can truly express how grateful I am to Dr. Kristi Funk. First, and foremost, she is a talented and superb surgeon. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August, 2006. In addition to her surgical skills, Kristi is extremely caring and empathetic. She helped me choose an amazing oncologist. I had so many fears and questions. She instilled me with confidence so that I was able to go through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation with the knowledge that I was in the very best hands. \n It is now actually a joy for me to go to the Pink Lotus Breast Center because I so look forward to seeing Kristi. The center, itself, is very comfortable. The staff is welcoming and caring. I think it's great that digital mammography and all other diagnostic tests will be available onsite there.\n I highly recommend Dr. Kristi Funk and the Pink Lotus Breast Center. \n

No one wants to go through any type of cancer experience, but when faced with the diagnosis, having such an excellent and amazing doctor as Dr. Kristi Funk lead your team is a gift. She is an outstanding surgeon and a wonderful compassionate human being. She was the 2nd surgeon I met with and I knew after that appointment that she was the person I wanted to help me get through this experience. She took so much time with me to explain everything that was going on, making sure I wasn't confused about any part of the treatment plan. She recommended other wonderful doctors that made up my team and I felt that I was receiving the best care available. The Pink Lotus Breast Center is also a calming place - the staff is so warm, friendly and attentive. I have always felt so taken care of whether it was regarding surgery, follow-up's, insurance questions, fears I had - anything that surfaced was well handled with professionalism, care and courtesy. And the center itself is beautiful and welcoming with warm lighting, lovely art on the walls, and big fluffy robes, instead of paper gowns - details matter here - at every level. I feel blessed to have found someone that I was able to put my trust in and I will continue to do so. I can't recommend Dr. Funk and the center highly enough!

If anyone ever has to fight breast cancer, you need to make sure that you have Dr. Kristi Funk in your corner of the ring. I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2007 at the age of 33. Today, I am healthy- and dare I say even healthier than I was before the cancer. Dr. Funk has been with me every step of the way. Her knowledge and expertise are priceless and saved my life. She helped me find the rest of my superb medical team and came up with a healing plan for me. She spent as much time as I needed with her to discus important medical decisions together. Her strength and enthusiasm make her a one-of-a-kind Doctor that I was so blessed to have found. The Pink Lotus Breast Center is the best possible place you can be if you are ever in this situation. So many of the Dr.s offices I have to go to are sterile and just so medical. Pink Lotus is a welcoming breath a fresh air- almost spa like. From the moment you arrive Jami, the receptionist, will make you feel so special and safe. The normal paper robe gowns are replaced with plush robes. Above all, you will be under the best care possible. Do the research and all roads will lead you to Dr. Funk.

Dr. Kristi Funk was my breast surgeon a few years ago. Her surgery is a work of art. Even the technician who did my followup mammogram could not tell that I had surgery. Kristi returned calls personally (& cheerfully) to address my questions post-op, a rarity. \r\n\r\nMost impressively, she has respected my positions on DCIS even when they may differ with hers and is monitoring me accordingly. She has an open mind with respect to non-mainstream approaches and progressive research, the mark of an intelligent & caring doctor. \r\n\r\nHer Pink Lotus clinic is state of the art. She is as much a perfectionist in the details of the clinic and its staff as she is with her surgeries. An appointment is actually a pleasure!

Dr Funk is the most competent and caring doctor. She has a rare combination of strong knowledge, dedication to her profession and patients and she is incredibly nice and warm. Truly she is fantastic. I have a condition which needs frequent monitoring and she has been so thorough with physical exams and reassuring at once. I don't know what I would do without her: I'd probably spend a lot of time worrying and being anxious about my condition. \nOther than being an amazing doctor, Dr Funk has founded the Pink Lotus Breast Center which is run by women and which was designed specifically for women. The PLBC was created to make women welcome and comfortable with such delicate problems as those related to breast health. The center is outstanding. The space and the machines are new, clean and well kept. Whenever I go for a visit or an exam, the personnel of the PLBC makes me feel welcome, the receptionist knows me by my name and there are only one or two people waiting. I do feel like a person being cared for, as opposed to ""an anonymous patient."" Truly this makes a world of a difference with respect to other places where I've been for a checkup or a mammogram.\nI would definitely recommend Dr Funk and the Pink Lotus Breast center to all women. I'd even encourage other women to switch to Dr Funk as their breast doctor. Since Dr Funk is also specialized in prevention, I trust her better than other doctors. Do not come to the PLBC just if you have a condition but also if you want to prevent any future illness.\n

I can't tell you what a difference Dr. Funk made in my life. Not only is she a talented and gifted surgeon but she also has the most amazing bedside manner I have EVER experienced. She is everything you would want in a doctor/surgeon who is going to guide you through the delicate first stages of the life-changing experience of being diagnosed with cancer. Words that come to mind when I think of Dr. Funk: warmth, kindness, patience, availability, directness, hopefulness, reassurance, respect, dependability, trust. Once I did research on, and then met, Dr. Funk I knew I was in the best hands possible -- both from a technical standpoint (she is an amazing surgeon) and from an emotional/psychological one (she is a real care giver in the truest sense of the term.) I cannot overstate how great Dr. Funk is, nor recommend her enough.

I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2003, and interviewed about 4 surgeons. I met Dr. Kristi Funk, who was at the Cedars Breast Ctr at the time, and she immediately did an ultrasound, and showed me my tumor. I asked a million questions, and learned an enormous volume of info. right there and then from Kristi. Her manner is completely candid, direct, and lovely. She gave me many options, explained the reality of my cancer in laymen terms, which enabled me to get my head around this diagnosis, and eased my complete panic. I immediately knew she was the Dr. for me. The morning before she performed my surgery, I was filled with anxiety, and the moment I saw Dr. Funk, ALL of my fear disappeared, I knew she would take care of me. I actually had a dream about Lake Como during my surgery, woke up feeling fresh, and lucky. Dr. Kristi Funk did a beautiful surgery, left me intact, and confident. I think the other thing that I appreciate about being her patient, is that she is very pro-active about prevention, and has suggested new \ntesting options, preventative vitamins and ways to amp up my health. I cannot say enough about Dr. Funk.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September of 2007 -- I interviewed several surgeons, but I was completely thrillled to be referred to Dr. Funk (she was at Cedars Breast Center then). I went with her for my surgery and it was the best decision I've ever made in my life. While my team of doctors were great (it is critical that you create a team that advocates for you) Dr. Funk works at a level I have rarely encountered before.\r\nMy first interaction with ""Kristy"" was after feeling beaten down and ""not heard"" by doctors especially when I wanted to have alternative therapies integrated as part of my ""comprehensive team and program"". Dr. Funk not only embraced it but she also supported my need for fitness and nutrition and that I could always work out (she was in sneakers as we chatted:)...Kristy has a bed side manner that is human and hopeful. The first few weeks were scary and Kristy called me versus sending me files and documents-Kristy will also be direct with you but what is most critical is Kristy will advocate with and for you-This is critical. When I was going through treatment Kristy knew I was a ""hillary2008 fanatic"" and took the time to invite me to a VIP event. \r\nPost surgery Kristy created ""Pink Lotus Center"" and I am beyond thrilled-Comprehensive center and the women in this center are stellar. I am not an easy-going person (Type A:) and these women indulge me with such patience and grace; I am humbled by their dedicated work ethic, compassion and human spirit that is desp. needed especially during this time of change in healthcare.\r\n\r\nAs a public health care professional Kristy is also an advocate for women's health issues and actively involved. I will be working with her on some projects which again is a prime example of her committment towards women's health issues.\r\n\r\nMy surgery for those of you concered about vanity...was unbelievable...Kristy has an ""eye"" as a surgeon and one can barely see the incision; it is truly remarkable.\r\n\r\nI am Kristy's number one advocate as her patient and cannot say enough about her and the Pink Lotus Center. \r\n\r\nMy best to you-kj\r\n\r\n\r\n

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September of 2007 -- I interviewed several surgeons, but I was completely wowed by Dr. Funk (she was at Cedars then). I went with her for my surgery and it was the best decision I've ever made in my life. While my team of doctors was great (yes, you get a whole team with B.C.; surgeon, radiologist and oncologist), Dr. Funk works at a level I have rarely encountered before. While my other friends who have had breast cancer (and it's a sad commentary on life today that I have several friends who have also had B.C.) had various problems post-surgery, I sailed through it and I attribute that to Dr. Funk's skill and her pursuit of the newest and most patient-friendly technologies. Not only is she a great doctor, she is the kindest, most caring surgeon you can possibly imagine. Often, the problem with going with ""the best"" is that you, as a patient, become just one of the mass of people being herded through the office of the in-demand doctor. That does NOT happen with Dr. Funk. She spends as much time as you need, she focuses on your concerns, and she remembers EVERYTHING about your case, no matter how much time has passed.\n\nSo the only problem with my situation, was that I saw Dr. Funk for my post-surgery follow-throughs, but I had to get my imaging done elsewhere. And that elsewhere was one of those herd-you-through-who-were-you-again-and-what-was-your-history? places. So imagine my delight when Dr. Funk opened Pink Lotus. Now, I would be able to get EVERYTHING taken care of within one facility. Believe me, if you are a breast cancer survivor, you absolutely want this. The more facilities and doctors you're dealing with, the more the possibility that something is going to be overlooked or fall through the cracks. I am so excited about the imaging launch this summer.\n\nI just cannot recommend Dr. Funk and Pink Lotus enough (just in case you were uncertain about my opinion here...ha ha).

Ladies, I can sum up Dr. Funk and PLBC for you in one word: extraordinary! The very moment I experienced Dr. Funk's vivacious personality and saw that beautiful smile, my anxiety departed. In a time of potential crisis, its difficult to digest the clinical aspects of the situation. Yet they are important. Dr. Funk took the time to walk me through the diagnosis, making certain I fully understood what was happening. At that moment, there couldnt have been anything more important to me. Knowing Dr. Funk is at the helm and that PLBC is a one-stop center for women with breast disease is a dream. Nowhere else do I have access to so many resources. I can devote the hours I would have spent searching for care providers to focusing on my health! Thank you, and your mission-driven team, Dr. Funk!

Pros: Fully integrative center! Run by women who care!

Cons: What? No drawbacks here!

The Pink Lotus Breast Center is fantastic. From the very first visit I was greeted with care, compassion, and friendliness from the entire staff. When meeting Dr. Kristi Funk, I immediately knew I had met the doctor for me. She was so caring and reassuring. I came to the PLBC with the diagnosis of breast cancer. I was terrified. The examining rooms were set with soothing music & comfy robes. Dr. Funk was very thorough with her exam. I loved the fact that everything was at her facility. I was able to have an ultrasound and biopsy right there and then. I did not have to wait to make another appt. and go elsewhere. When I left my first visit, I was feeling very relieved and certain that I was going to get through the next year in good hands and that I was going to survive. This was all because of Dr. Funk and the PLBC! I have and will continue to send my family, friends and even strangers I have just met to the PLBC.

Pros: Relaxing atmosphere

If you have cancer, it's going to affect you physically, mentally, and emotionally. You want the best overall care and this place is -- hands down -- the very best. Their facility and equipment are the most advanced and cutting edge, yet the people there from the front desk to the medical staff are traditional, warm-hearted, thoughtful, and they have an attention to detail that is so rare in people. Their services don't just end with the exams. Their personnel and medical staff are there to greet you at all times with a smile and advise you on any questions you may have, no matter how little or large, they may be. Dr. Kristi Funk not only put me on a schedule of treatments and appointments, but she advised me on what to eat, what exercises to do, what programs would be beneficial, and where I could go to find a friend to lean on who had been through the same thing. Her care extends way beyond what the paperwork logs. Cancer is something that came and went, but Kristi will be a part of my life forever. Her positive and direct approach are an obvious trickle down to her staff and their good nature is infectious. I will never be able to fully express how meaningful they have been to me, but Kristi and the people there have touched my heart and made impressions on my family and friends that will never be forgotten.

I had a Mammogram every year since 1991, back then my primary care physician would give me a referral for a Mammogram to be done at a local imaging center. Never ever did anyone tell me that Breast Centers existed. I believe that if I had been going to a Breast Center since 1991, that my Cancer would have been detected in an early stage rather than stage three advanced, fifteen years later. It was estimated that it had been growing for 7-8 years!\r\nIn 2006, because my Insurance had changed and I was able to choose my doctors, the first thing I did was find myself a Gynecologist who referred me to Dr. Kristi Funk when I noticed some nipple discharge on my right breast. Even though there was no discharge present at the time of my appointment with Kristi, there was no lump or deformation, and I had just had a Mammogram two weeks prior, which came back normal, Kristi still took it very seriously. I was feeling a little embarrassed because I didnt want to come off as a hypochondriac since there were no symptoms anymore.\r\n The beauty of a Breast Center is everything can be done right there and then. Kristi immediately did an Ultrasound, no referral needed, and she immediately noticed a duct slightly dilated, she said it wasnt too unusual or serious looking; Even with no symptoms Kristi was aggressive enough to suggest a needle biopsy, to put my mind at ease so I wouldn't leave her office worrying about a dilated duct. Kristi did a needle biopsy right there and then, no referral needed, Kristi called me the next day, not a receptionist, to come in for a core biopsy, which she did right there, on the spot, no referral needed. Kristi knew it was cancer. I was diagnosed with stage 3 advanced cancer three days before my 47 birthday. \r\nI know God led me to Kristi and the Breast center. Just imagine where I would be today had I not gone to see Kristi.\r\n I had cancer growing for 7-8 years, I had a five -centimeter mass, undetected all those years and yet Kristi found it in one office visit because shes experienced, knowledgeable, and aggressive enough to fight this disease. She took those extra steps right there and then in her examining room, I didnt even have to get up from the examining table once, it was all done right there.\r\n All my doctor's, Oncologist, re-constructive Plastic surgeons, Radiation Oncologist, Gynecologist, Gastroenterologist, all know Kristi and she is highly respected by her peers. I have seen Kristi interviewed on Fox News regarding Breast Cancer, Ive seen her several time on the television show The Doctors talking about Breast Care.\r\n I have had three surgeries with Kristi and what stands out in my mind is Kristi holding my hand in the surgery room talking sweetly and calmly to me until I fell asleep. Shes one of my Angels on Earth and you would be blessed to have her as your doctor. October of 2010 will be four-year cancer survivor.\r\nKaren\r\n

I write this review with the greatest appreciation and the upmost respect for the Pink Lotus Breast Center and Dr. Kristi Funk. After being told that I had breast cancer, I quickly scheduled appointments with a few different surgeons. Dr. Funk was my first meetings and my only meeting! From the minute I walked through the doors of the Pink Lotus Center I knew it special. No windows to slide open with some cold receptionist asking for license and insurance. The office is warm and open and really mirrored my experience with the entire staff. Dr. Funk talks to you like a best friend would, honest and completely open. Her knowledge in the field is stunning and her ability to teach scared women dealing with new and uncharted territory was a real gift and allowed me to feel very safe. As I told Dr. Funk, she is the most fantastic women I never wanted to meet! Dr. Funk explained everything that was going to happen in a way that made me believe I was going to get through this with her and her team holding my hand every step of the way and they did! I feel blessed to have Dr. Funk and the Pink Lotus Breast Center in my life.

I was blindsided when I was dx with breast cancer. My doctor referred me to Dr. Krist and when I first met her I was a mental mess, full of fear. Her calm, direct, professional, yet oh so caring, manner gave me comfort and I knew I was in good hands. While I admit her youth took me back a bit when I first met her, I soon realized she's just one of those gifted souls. I feel VERY grateful to have her on my team. In a time when my world seemed turned upside down and uncertainty filled the air, it was a relief to know I was cared for by Kristi. I'm now 4 years cancer free and I'm still reaping the benefits of her skill as a surgeon. I can't say enough how incredible she is. Anyone who is diagnosed owes it to themselves to see her. Pink Lotus is an awesome wellness place too so women can get their annual mammograms there as well as.

Pros: Dr. Kristi Funk, highly skilled minimal invasive surgeon

Cons: no cons I can think of

I wrote this on the blog I never publish the day I met Kristi Funk: The good news - I met a really beautiful, unique woman today who I could actually see myself being friends with. We have some odd things in common. And her name -- Kristi Funk ? Definitely the coolest name Ive ever heard. The bad news is that shes the surgeon performing the breast biopsy she said I needed. \nI was lucky. Two lumpectomies later, the clusters loitering in my breast were revealed as benign calcifications. \nBut when falling down the rabbit hole that accompanies the prospect of the c-word (the six-letter one) it was comforting to be met by a highly trained, modern day wisewoman offering a warm smile and a soft place to land. \nDr. Kristi and The Pink Lotus Breast Center is just a different kind of medical experience than Ive ever had. It starts with Kristis incredibly warm staff. Her receptionist, her nurses my own mother wasnt as nice to me. I thought that at any minute any of them could offer me a coloring book and a hot chocolate. And her exam robes. I think theyre spun from clouds and magic. I actually asked about buying it. Kristi and her staff followed up on me with great care, before and after my procedure. Im healing now, but I can already tell that physically Im getting more and more back to normal every day. \nI cant recommend Dr. Kristi Funk highly enough. Her wisdom and confidence. Her skill. Her humor. Her accomplishments. Shes the total package. I wish shed be my family doctor.\n

Dr. Krisit Funk and Pink Lotus are amazing\n\nWhen I was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2008, i was very scared. My OB Dr. Peter Weiss told me that he was going to get me to see the best doctor that would save me. Well that Doctor was Dr. Kristi Funk. From the Moment I met Dr, Funk I knew I was in good hands. She has a special twinkle in her eye when she talks to you, and when I heard what she was saying I was not scared anymore and knew everything was going to be ok. Dr. Funk was there with me from beginning of treatments until the end of my treatments.\nI have recommended Pink Lotus to many people. And I know that Dr, Funk is there to save all of us, \nIf you are ever diagnosed with Breast Cancer, Pink Lotus Breast Center is the place to go..and you will be glad you did...\ntraci

Upon receiving the news that I had breast cancer I was shocked and scared. My initial impulse was to get rid of it NOW! Luckily I was referred to Dr. Kristi Funk and the Pink Lotus Breast Center. \n\nFrom my very first phone call I knew I was in the right place. Every person I talked to was friendly, efficient and caring. When I walked in the door for my initial consultation, I was greeted by name and made to feel at ease.\n\nDr. Funk explained in simple terms what I was facing and my surgery was scheduled for a few days later. \n\nThe surgical staff was friendly and professional. I had minimal pain for one day and was back at the gym a week after the surgery. After one week I can barely see the incision and my breast looks exactly the same.\n\nIn addition to being a confident, well-qualified and skilled surgeon, Dr. Funk is a warm and caring individual. During our meeting she made me feel that she had nothing else to do that day but talk to me and answer all of my questions, giving me a reassuring hug as I left.\n\nI couldnt be happier with the care I received from the Pink Lotus Breast Center and I am happy to recommend Dr. Funk and her staff. \n

I am admittedly anxious and have ADD, and that makes me hate going to the doctor. I created an account on Citysearch just to leave this review for the Pink Lotus Breast Center; simply because my experience was that good and I hope that other women will review this post and benefit from it somehow. I don't wish breast cancer on anyone, but if you have it, you owe it to yourself to look into this place. God Bless!

""You have cancer!"" Not words anyone ever wants to hear. But hearing this phrase come from Dr. Kristi Funk softened the blow. Her mission, and that of everyone in her office, is not only one of professionalism and excellence, but one of hope and confidence. Her new center is visionary; a word that evokes the future. In my case, knowing that I would have a future was my goal. While I did have cancer Pink Lotus Breast Center is not just about the disease, it's about prevention, information, diagnosis, wellness and all aspects of breast health issues. You feel at home in this environment. No attention to detail is left undone, from the most frivolous comfort of a warm spa robe for examinations all the way to life saving procedures and protocols explained in layman terminology. State of the art equipment and skilled team members help assure patients that every procedure and test will be done with as much accuracy as is possible. Being in Beverly Hills, Dr. Funk has treated celebrities. But celebrity or commoner, the sense of family prevails for EVERYONE. Dr. Funk rocks!

Cons: None that I can see!

I looked up this center before my first appointment, what a great website. Since it was good enough for Sheryl Crow, I didn't feel I had much to worry about. My expectations are pretty lofty but the care I received exceeded my expectations. I'm not surprised celebrities chose this facility over the hospital-based alternatives. I give it 5 stars.

I have been to many doctors, clinics and hospitals. I first went to the Pink Lotus Breast Center after I felt a growth and my OB assured me that this was the best place to go in Los Angeles. I have never been treated this nicely in a medical center, ever! The staff, the facility, and my doctor were off the charts awesome, and I would recommend this breast center to anyone without hesitation!
