They failed to find a huge tumor in my cat's abdomen, which ultimately cost him his life.
They told a relative that her kitten's symptoms were behavioral and then he died three weeks later.
The very high turnover of vets and staff at this place should have alerted me to stay away!

Very reasonable in terms of pricing; don't push unnecessary services at all. Felt very comfortable with the vet, and will always take my kitties here!

Pros: Great vet

Cons: inconvenient parking

The first time I took my chicken to these people they were very expensive. I told them that he just needed some antibiotics. I calculated 50 for the 1st time visit, 25 for the antibiotics. They charged me $210 or so. Half of this was for him being in an oxygen tank. I don't know what this looks like but it sounds like it would only scare the chicken. He was breathing regular air before and after the visit... I don't see the need. They were understanding and only took half the money. Next time I was unemployed and begged and pleaded. They only charged me for medication which was very nice. I was VERY grateful. But unfortunately the chicken died. This time I go in w/ a mean chicken that's not so much a pet... and I have to fight to get the secretary's attention... then I tell them that he has heart and lung problems. I just wanted them to hear him breathe and give some antibiotics. I also tell them I don't even have 50 dollars for a visit and they say "oh you don't have to pay". I told them I only have about 30 bucks total for antibiotics and they said "you don't have to pay though..." so I said "wow thanks!!!" and was about to come home to write my own good review about them here...

The doctor calls me saying the problems in the heart... not just the lungs... I told her I knew and she was surprised. The doctor tells me several times in a very firm tone "There IS NO medication for birds with arithmea". Just vitamins...

I go back to pick him up and pay for his antibiotics... they give me a $130 bill. I said I only have 30 for antibiotics and I am still unemployed. She tried to take my 30 and I said I only have 20 with me. She told me to pay the 20 and come back with the balance. So they took the few bucks I had for antibiotics and gave me nothing but a bill for $110. I don't have money for my pets food right now and I had to ask a friend for discounted antibiotics.

If the nurse didn't have her head up her behind this wouldn't happen.

They need to listen and analyze what the customer has to say especially if they plan on digging deep in their empty pockets...

Pros: One time they listened to my concerns and helped me.

Cons: One time they didn't listen to my concerns and jacked me.

The Bird and Cat Clinic is more than just a clinic. They are truly angels and I have witnessed the care and nuturing that goes on there.
During my cats stay of about a month and a half, I visited on a daily basis and had the opportunity to see behind the scenes, the true love and patience for every animal
they tended to.
As you walk in the door, you will be greeted by a duck, two chickens, severals cats and a roost of birds. They will tell you, "Everything will be okay, just look at us".
Please treat yourself to the opportunity, like I had, and visit one of those bright lights in the night sky, that always watch over us. The Santa Barbara Cat and Bird Clininc..

Not happy with this pet doctor. Over charged us and sent our sick bird home to die. Never returned phone calls as promised. Did not respect our wishes for pet care. Was verbally abusive on the phone and then hung up on us! Avoid this clinic for the sake of your pet.

Dr. Christine Sellers and staff create a wonderful office to bring your pet. For cat lovers, she is a kindred spirit who has been known to compliment cats generously about their looks (which is a great ego boost for the owners!) and she definitely takes the time needed to address whatever is at hand.

It is rare to find a vet's office that specializes in exotic birds, and at this clinic all feathered friends are welcome. I really enjoy taking my animals here and I anticipate more great care from this facility in the future.
