My sweet angel of a dog was hit by a car the night before thanksgiving I rushed him to bvh as it was the closest unfortunatly his injuries were so bad I had to make the choice to take him out of his pain and have him put down (this was the hardest decision of my life as he wasnt just a dog to me he was my baby and my friend) they were so compassionate and sat with me untill I could function the next day they let my son come in and say good bye, they cleaned him up covered him with a blanket and even made us a little ceramic foot print the compassion from them was amazing and I would recomend them to anybody.

My first memory of going to BVH was in 1956 with my father, when I was four years old. Our cat George had been severely beaten with a shovel by a neighbor who didn't like cats. What I remember was how compassionately and skillfully they cared for George as my father and I looked on. These people loved my cat as much as I did! My parents continued to seek veterinary care for a menagerie of animals at BVH until their deaths. I, in the meantime, went to college, married, had four children and collected quite an array of pets myself, all who were and still are expertly cared for at BVH. The third generation of my family (my adult children), who accompanied us to many vet visits now take their family pets to BVH. The fourth generation of my family, my grandchildren, tag along with their parents to BVH as I did over 50 years ago. I have no doubt, if they stay in Bakersfield as adults, they too will be taking their pets to BVH for quality and compassionate care. Thank-you, doctors and staff at BVH for "generations" of expert, compassionate veterinary care! Through the generations it just gets better and better, especially now with 24/7 veterinary service.

I used to go to school to be a vet. I know what I'm doing when it comes to animals. I have bred many animals in my time. My dog was having many issues when she had her last litter and needed a cesarean section. I called ahead to make sure they could accommodate her. When I took her there, the staff did not act as though they cared. The doctors and staff basically told me I didn't know what I was talking about. Two days later and still no puppies they finally gave her the surgery I knew she needed. We lost three puppies and almost lost her. We spent over $2000 trying to resolve this problem after first being quoted $800. When I went to discuss the bill and the issues I was told I didn't know what I was talking about and they refused to speak to me because I was not listed as the owner in the chart. (They insisted we use my boyfriend's sisters chart, they have the same last name, to save paper. Since my boyfriend and I are not married, I do not share that lat name.) My boyfriend and I are not married (although we live together and share ownership of our animals) therefore I could not be the legal owner. Apparently you can have a child with someone you are not married to, but you cannot share custody of a dog. I was highly dissatisfied with their attitudes and quality of service provided. My dog almost died. I will never forget how they treated us. I will never go there again and will never recommend anyone that cares for their animals seeking care at this facility. The trusted vet that used to run this facility has retired and apparently has left it the hands of unfit people.

I have been taking my dogs and cats to Dr. Keese for about a year now. He was recommended by one of my friends. I am very pleased with him as a veterinarian...he is very kind to me and my animals. When I ever have questions he is very helpful and easy to understand...not to mention "easy on the eyes." The facility is a bit dated and small....but I hear they are building a new hospital out by Sam's Club to open this spring. I recommend Dr. Keese and Bakersfield Vet to everyone!

I have taken my dog in here before when my regular vet was not open and I have to say i was happy with the service they provided. They were very nice and the vet was very good at taking care of my animal. I would consider going back here again.
