It seemed like they were so laid back and easy going but then were horrible as soon as we signed on the dotted line. Instead of just accepting that rent was being paid on time and in full, they got involved in drama that occurred between tenants and took sides unnecessarily. They were constantly rude, so if you're a student, don't worry they'll act like you're below them. They also gave out a tenants information off an application to a third party, which resulted in an intense situation that never would have happened otherwise.

It took them three months to remove an infestation of squirrels from one of their properties. THREE MONTHS, and then acted like it was the tenants fault they got in through the holes in the brick. They also neglected to inspect their property so they were unaware that the chimney was missing a flue which resulted in freezing cold temperatures in the house. When it was reported that something was wrong, it was the tenants fault for not discovering what the problem stemmed from sooner. Does anyone know how to check for a flue? Also, their older properties are severely not kept up with. There was one property with a crack that started out up at the ceiling and within a couple of weeks was down to the floor, this was reported and justified as the house "settling". (The house was built over 50 years ago, and settling usually occurs within 6-9 months of a house being built). Also this same property was upped in rent because of how good it was taken care of.

They reported that the property was turned over to them in better condition then when they gave it to us, and yet 2/3's of the security deposit is magically given to people who violated the lease, and honestly no one would be surprised if the last 1/3 never shows up either. The lease in which they pick and choose when they want to follow it, if it's more work for them, they won't adhere to it. (For instance, one person violated the lease but shutting the electricity off after the walk through, but the person that abandoned the property early, shut the utilities off and wrecked the place gets out of it without a word because their mess was cleaned up.) But if it's more money for them, don't worry, all of a sudden they're sticklers for the lease.

The properties look cool from the outside and you think it's charm, but when you realize they won't fix a fan falling off the ceiling or replace a screen because it's "cosmetic" and that no matter what you do or say they'll hate you anyway, you'll realize you should have kept looking.
