Best experience ever, I can not believe anyone who would write something negative about daly's, the owner is hands on, and selfless. He will bend over back to make sure you get a CDL as long as you try hard and are respectful. Thank you

Daly's Is a great School. I had a great time and met some great people. I was a little worried about getting into this industry. Mike at Daly's really told me what to expect, not what I wanted to hear. I was prepared for the job

I went to Dalys Truck School over Christmas. I visited 3 other schools before I settled on Dalys Truck School. Katlaw, Georgia Driving Academy, and Americas Driving Force. Americas is the cheapest school but only about 400 less then

Hard to get a CDL at Daly's\r
I recently attended Daly's and it took me 2 months to get my CDL license. I got my permit, but the yard training had too many students per truck to get adequate seat time. Instructors did not care if I

I went to Daly's in September 2008. From day one, I became close to the female staff. I was the only female student in the school at the time and still felt comfortable.

At first, I felt things weren't too organized as far as how things went out on the pad and when it came time to go for our test I spoke with Mr. Daly and let him know that even though the instructor's felt I could pass I didn't and he allowed me to continue practicing until I felt comfortable to go to Gainesville.

I was not easy to teach at first and couldn't really grasp backing. Even though I had been on a truck for a few year OTR I had never driven one. I was a clean slate and went from learning how to shift to everything else. Lol Dee and Sherry can give you the story of my first day on the truck lol! As soon as I was taught to put it in gear and the truck moved I got scared and screamed ??turn it off? as I let go of the wheel and removed both legs from the pedal area lol? that was great?. We laughed alottttttttt, I cried inside a lot, and at times we bumped heads but they never gave up on me even when I wanted to.

I passed my pre-trip and maneuvers first shot but I didn't pass at Gainesville??s original road test and Ann flipped. They supported me and backed me when I was given a bum deal at DDS not just once either. Mr. Daly even spoke up for me to DDS. I eventually quit. After some time *months* had passed and I had time to cool down, I received a letter asking me how I was doing and asked to come back and try again.

That felt so special to me that they cared even though they were already paid for their services. When I did come back they let me come in to refresh things for free and I received my license Class A in January 2009.

The new facility is amazing compared to the old. lol @ the second pad we trained on. *smile*

I care so much for the staff > they have become like an extended family to me. I'm still in touch with some n some students I've met. Mr. Daly is straight forward, kind, and someone you can really come to and just be real about the situation with. They will do whatever they can to help you.

Key thing is YOU have to be willing to work hard and learn. The days were long but many times I felt I needed more time.

The support and belief they had in me got me through. They all at one point or another have pulled me to the side and told me that I'd be a hell of a driver and that meant a lot. Now I am!

I saw a lot of students not passing while few did. Some will never - some shouldn't be allowed to. That's life.

Overall, I appreciate the experience and am glad I went to Daly??s.

I just want to say thank you to everyone at Daly's. NOt to mention names but several years ago I attended another school in ATL and it doesn't even compare to Daly's. Unfortunately if you don't use your CDL for a few years you have to return to school. Daly's is the best, the trucks are new models, the building is awesome, even the owner is out there training.

If you have a few issues on your background the placement dept. will try to help you-they helped me I start a local drop next week!!!

Thanks everyone.

I went to Daly's in November of 2008. The training is really good and the best thing about the school is how current the equipment is and the facility is soooo much nicer then any other school I saw. Check it out. If you want to get into the trucking industry this is the place to go. I had 5 companies to choose from when I graduated. I could have had more if I had applied to more companies but I was satisfied with my choices. I have been with Covenant for almost 4 months now and everything they told me at dalys was right on. This industry can be tough at times but I'm paying my bills and in 2 months I will get a pay upgrade so I keep on trucking.

Everyone at Daly's is great and treat you fairly. Listen to them and you'll make this transition work for you.

I was in class with Lori W at Daly's TDS. I can't overstate how unbalanced this woman is. She was going thru the 3rd time when I was there. She constantly cried after every failed attempt at a maneuver. It was uncomfortable to say the least. She wasn't able to test with our class because she was still not ready and could not even pass the straight line maneuver everytime.

Out of everyone in my class of 12, 8 passed all parts the first time. Me and 2 other guys failed the yard maneuvers the first time and one guy failed everything. Me and Bobby passed the yard and road the next day and Tim failed road but passed yard. I am in contact with everyone from my class and we are all out here driving for a living. Even Emanuel who failed everything passed his 3rd time after they trained him some more.

Mr. Daly is one of the most fairest guys i have ever met. The fact that they were still training lori given the fact that THERE IS NO WAY SHE WILL EVER PASS THIS EXAM is amazing. They don't have to train you at all past the 18 days they are contracted to do. They even knew she was writing all this bad stuff about them on the web and still tried to work with her. Some people have no business ever getting licensed and Lori is one of them. I will bet you anything she doesn't have a license yet and will never get one.

Lori's Husband drove a truck and because of that she thought she knew everything about driving. The problem is you have to listen to the instructors to learn or you will never pass the exam. She ran her mouth during training and never listened to the instructors. I never heard anyone yell at her except once when she almost ran into another truck on the yard. STOP!

If you need a CDL call Daly's they are a great school.

I was at the Gainesville DDS test site on a wednesday morning trying to get my permit for the class a license. I witnessed 6 people from Daly's Test for the CDL license. Of the 6 tests I witnessed 5 passed all 3 parts of the exam. 1 person passed the pre trip and yard and ran over a curb on the way back from the road. So he was coming back on thursday to retake that part. Everyone I spoke with couldn't say enough about the school.

I enrolled in the program a month later. I started on 1-5-09 and ended 18 days later. I was amazed at the patience the instructors had. They worked with you through the process doing everything they could to get you ready. When I tested the following week I knew exactly what to expect from the examiner and aced everything the first time. Out of my class of 12, 10 got thier license the first time thru and of the other 2 1 got it on the next time and 1 got it on the 3 time.

This is a family run school and they treat you like family. they didn't let me give up on myself and prepared me for the test. I am now working for Werner and making good money and in this economy that is a big releif. I recomend anyone who is thinking about getting a CDL Call Daly's and they will help you thru.

My Brother, Father and myself went thru dalys. They help you get thru your test at the state and really help out with employment. We all run a CDL towing business in the Athens area. Sully and Sons Towing. We sent 2 guys there last year to get trained and they made it thru like planned. I highly recomend these guys especially because it's a family business and I work in a family business so maybe I'm partial. These guy really care about your success thats why they always be in business.

I'm writing this because Mr. Daly treated me and my family very well and gave me an opportunity to make something great for myself and my family.

I think this Lori person is way off base and question her motives. I can't help but suspect that she might do better examining why she was unsuccessful instead of blaming the school for her lack of abilities. The fact that she didn't get licensed tells me she shouldn't be out there on the roads anyway.

Alright - I am just letting it go - it is not even important enough to keep up- sometimes you just have to consider the sources and let things be. I was angry - it is a lot of money - and I could not afford it - maybe I do have myself to blame. I could keep arguing my point and trying to defend myself against nasty remarks but I really don't see the point - I would check out the WIA numbers with the department of labor on the actual pass/fail ratio - and I would check the driving school division in Conyers GA that oversees driving schools. I was not smart.
