I live in the neighborhood so I decided to check this place out and I was quite shocked by the selection. I was able to pick out a couple of shirts in no time as the staff kept showing me an array of shirt choices. The staff was helpful and I enjoyed the free pinata I got for Cinco de Mayo.

I will be back !!

Pros: lot of shirts choices, a true guy's store

Cons: none

.

Selection of shirts that are unique (yes, but not in a good way!). These are items that don't make it into boutiques and half of them look like they come from male order catalog. Not contemporary styling at all.

Extensive selection but prices not worth the quality of these shirts.

Customer service is at its poorest with owner Gus and other sales associates exhibiting the worst of obnoxious queen behavior while they ignore and speak condescendingly to you (and this comment coming from someone who is gay) ... not recommended and not worth the trek north of Fullerton for this type of service.

Check out the men's boutiques in Bucktown and Wickerpark that give you more for your buck with more cutting edge designs and ... yes... only limited quantities per design so you don't see your twin on a night out...

best men's store in chicago! been going to sos for years now, top quality, forward fashion and respectively the cheapest prices in the city. the name can be deceiving - they have pants, socks, coats, hats, gloves, belts and more.. also, they buy in small quantities, so you won't find your fashion twin out and about. can't tell you how many compliments i've received over the years from my sos purchases. thanks gus!

only warnings (not issues for me), they don't carry shirts with various neck and sleeve lengths - so if your an odd size you won't have as much of a selection. and don't carry suits.

I don't usually write reviews but I do read them and often benefit from others' experiences so i felt compelled to write after seeing the one from the guy who had "never been treated so poorly". I happened to be in the store that day. I'm not sure of the details of the guys beef but I do know the staff was courteous and professional, if not a little perplexed and the guy seemed more than a little imbalanced. Toward the end I left the store because the guy was so out of control I was uncomfortable ? I felt bad for the staff. I've shopped there off and on over the years and have always found a great selection and a very knowledgable staff. I know they carry quit a few labels exclusively and have distinctive quality merchandise. As a men's specialty store it's top-notch.

The worst customer experience of my life! I actually was cheated by this store. Gus, the owner, is smug and extremely disrespectful. I purchased 3 shirts, and while I was happy with my selections, I could not believe that they lied to me about the prices for the shirts. These guys are crooks in designer suits! They told me one price and then charged me another. I figured this out when I got home and found that they had taken off the tags from the shirts and realized that I did not get an itemized receipt and that the total I paid made no sense. When I went back to the store to find out what happened, I was treated like my having been there before to shop had been a huge inconvenience to them and that I had a lot of nerve to even question what I paid. Basically their attitude was that they got away with it and now that they had my money I was out of luck. I should have been suspicious when this Gus guy was condescending and arrogant upon my first visit. If he was my salesperson I surely would not have purchased anything. I see from other reviews that this store has major customer service and ethics issues. Stay away from this store unless you like being cheated and treated poorly.

Please see the entry above from the store owner (of course he ?happened to be in the store that day?), as well as the other complaints below and elsewhere on the internet. It provides insight into the ?customer experience?. Enough said.

I went to Shirts on Sheffield today to find a dress shirt for an upcoming wedding. Nearly every shirt in the store was from Ben Sherman and was sold in S, M, L or XL. They had absolutely no shirts with varying collar and sleeve lengths (ie 17 neck, 34 sleeve). When I told the owner what I was looking for, he and his associate just laughed and told me that I was crazy to think that I could possibly know my own neck size and basically refused to help me find anything. When I told him I thought that it was odd that they didn't carry dress shirts in the typical sizes, he again laughed and told me to go to a department store. The owner also told me that he hand-picked everything in the store and gauranteed that nothing in there would ever shrink. Apparently he has found a magical form of cotton that nobody else in the world knows about. The only thing worse than this store's selection is the attitude of the tiny little owner and his boy-toy salesman. Stay away.

Pros: Yeah, right.

Cons: That it exists at all.

This is a small men's clothing store that is deceptively well stocked with great clothing and accessories. The service is exceptional Gus knows his customers and treats them all with a personal touch. I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the variety of clothes and the value. Best value for men in the city!
