I have been coming to Germantown Veterinary Clinic for the past 3 years and have never been happier with a vet clinic. The hospital is clean and they use the all the latest technologies to care for my pets. When my 2 year old beagle started having seizures a few months ago they saw him right away and were able to do all of his lab work in house; we had the results in less than 20 minutes which was great because I was very worried about him. This month, I found out that both of my boxers had cancerous tumors and they were able to schedule surgery to remove the tumors the same week. Their staff is awesome too, very compassionate! I've had an excellent experience overall- I wouldn't go anywhere else for vet care :)

Compassionate Staff! Lost my dog to cancer a year ago. The staff made a very hard time less painful. Dr. Tidd was able to ultrasound my dog right in the office so I didn't have to go somewhere else. I miss my special friend everyday but when I recently got a new puppy I didn't think twice about bringing him in to see Dr. Lucy. All the office staff remembered me and made me and my new pup feel special. I highly recommend Germantown Vet!

Nice Vet!! I had no idea how bad my cat's teeth were until they showed me xrays of my cat's teeth. Right away they knew that several of my cat's teeth had huge, painful holes in them. They were able to take care of her and she is feeling much better now. It's amazing how much more energy she has. The doctors and staff were really friendly and seem to really know their stuff. Great experience. I'd highly recommend them.

I've been taking my dogs to GVC for about 25 years, when the practice began at a different location. They are simply the best, professional, knowledgeable, and caring. Yes, they are expensive, but any good vet in this area is going to be expensive. My dogs are worth it.

They're not about the money. Great customer service and they won't advise you to give your puppy something he doesn't need. The best vet I've been to so far.

I used to take my two dogs here. I was not impressed at all, they have a fancy new facility but everything is so unorganized. I was told I needed to bring my nine month old puppy in for a check up, although she was having no health problems and was up to date on all vaccines and already spayed, I made an appointment to bring her in because I trust the vet knows what they are doing. I made an 8:00 appointment went in sat in the lobby and a vet tech comes out and says "why is she here" I said "I kept getting emails saying she needed to come in for a puppy exam, and I called and they said to bring her in just to make sure everything is going okay." The woman than tells me there is no need to see my dog and I can go home.I know it doesn't sound like a big deal but it was just annoying when it happened and I was left feeling confused about why they ever told me she needed to go in anyway, nobody could answer that question. Also when she was spayed I was told the vet would call early in the afternoon after the procedure was done just to tell me how everything went. The vet never called me, I ended up calling them at 6:00 in the evening and the vet "forgot" to call me. Also my older dog was going there for several years and only after switching to a new vet did they find a SEVERE heart murmur. She had been to Germantown less than 4 months previously, why didn't they catch it? My dogs are my family and I just didn't trust the vets or staff at this place. Also, they are VERY EXPENSIVE.

This place has a nice front, but they don't give a damn. My cat was treated there once and that was the last time I'm taking her there. As a pet owner, you know if your baby has been mistreated after they come home. Don't get me wrong, I'm not paranoid. My baby has seen her share of pet hotels. SHE HAS NEVER BEEN IN THIS MUCH STRESS. Oh, the bill also came out a LOT more expensive than other BETTER places. Don't go there. you'll pay way to much for sub-par service. Take your pet to Gaithersburg or Damascus or Frederic.

Dr. Eastep is the best. We've been seeing her for over 15 years now, starting way back when Germantown Vet was at their old location on old MD 118. She always remembers my wife and me by name. She takes her time with our dogs and makes sure all of our questions are answered. I will only make appointments with her. She's also put down two of our dogs through the years and both times she was very gentle and caring in a very upsetting time. She's also mindful to not run up the bill on you just to make a buck, and she always calls after any procedure to make sure your pet is doing okay. One time we needed some orthopedic surgery for our cocker, and she recommended VCA on Dufief Mill Road. We went there, realized what a rip off they were (the vet said he'd do the operation, but "these dogs never live more than 6 months after the operation"--some bedside manner!), she recommened a great surgeon in Frederick who was less than half the cost of VCA, and our dog was still around 2 1/2 years later before old age got to him. The staff at Germantown Vet are also tops. I've never felt uncomfortable there, and I've never hestitated to leave our dogs there for boarding. Prices can be a little high on some things, but quality pays in the end. Always a good experience.

Our puppy ate a ball that was thrown into our yard that we had no idea was there. She was vomiting so we rushed her into the vet. Dr. Rizol saw us, she seemed very unsure of her knowledge and very new and inexperienced to the field. After the xrays, it was unclear if there were still pieces of the ball inside so we had decided to hospitalize her for a few hours and see if it passed; when the doctor was in the back, our dog threw up in the room, more of the ball. When Dr. Rizol came back in, she lifted her shoulders up, smiled at me and said, "Well, do you want me to do surgery..." Uhhh, that's what I was paying her for, to decide what's best for my dog's health. We again, decided to wait, and see, they kept her there for fluids and wanted to keep her overnight for "monitoring." Come to find, nobody would be there to monitor, she'd just be caged all night and if something went wrong, I'd be notified in the morning. I marched up there, much to the Dr.'s dismay, and picked up our dog. I took full responsibility if an emergency cropped up, but at least I'd be there to rush her to a 24 hour vet. For 4 hours of hospitalization, 3 xrays and IV fluids, we were charged $600. I refuse to every see this doctor again, patients don't want to decide in emergency situations, they want to be told what the best decision is.

Dr. Robin Gryskiewitz is WONDERFUL, I trust her completely, and would be the only doctor I'd see there if we had to bring our dogs back. She is honest and open about every charge that may be incurred for different treatments/services. All of the support staff is wonderful, friendly and personable.

Lastly, they've updated they're technology immensely and I feel as though pricing has dramatically gone up to offset the updates they've done to the office. We couldn't afford a $700 spay, and opted to drive over an hour away to get the same procedure done for $200, with the same quality results.

I would recommend only Dr. G, otherwise, take your money elsewhere.

We have used Germantown Vet Clinic for over a year now. When our young dog was having GI problems, they got us in right away (as new patients), treated Alex and sent us home with very clear instructions. They are always very upfront with the costs you will incur with the visit and any treatments they may need, and absolutely ask you before they do anything.

6 months ago, we had to put our older dog down, again, when we called worried and upset, they got us right in, they talked us through everything, and gave us our time with her. We were in a secluded part of the office so when we left, we had privacy and Dr. Allen sent a sympathy card with our dog's foot print on paper-I was very impressed.

EVERYONE at that office is very nice, the doctors are VERY competent and I trust this clinic and all employees undoubtedly.

We had to use the vet several times over the past couple months and have always had great experience. We have had multiple vets during different visits and they are all very knowledgeable. We brought a very sick cat into the vet and they were very kind and let us know all our options. We brought her in an hour before closing and the vet stayed with us after they had locked up to let us have time to make the decision to put our cat to sleep. We were not rushed and they were all very compassionate.

The vets at this facility have explained things to us and helped us in ways no other vet has. They take their time with each patient and really try to educate the owners and do what is best for the pet.

this vet clinic is wonderful-i take my guinea pigs, chinchillas, and dogs to them. They are very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They have a wonderful kennel and are fairly able to make appointments on short notice. I would definitely recommend this clinic. Good Luck!!!

I have been a long time client of Dr. Tidd at Germantown Vet Clinic and have always found her extremely compassionate and professional. She returns phone calls promptly and is very knowledgeable. Recently I boarded my cat and dog at their boarding facility and found the new Kennel manager very friendly and courteous. I took a surprise tour a few weeks prior and even though the kennel was full, it was extremely clean and all the pets had their own bed. When I picked up my pets from boarding they were clean, smelled great and even though they were very happy to see me they did not seem stressed about being away from me. I highly recommend both the vet care and boarding facility at Germantown Veterinary Clinic!!

I took my rats in to be boarded for a long weekend. I provided thier food and schedule for it to be given. Picking them up 4 days later, they were famished from not being fed or given any water at all. None of the food I provided had been given to them. Another instance was when I had a rat pass away, I had taken her in for the clinic to cremate for me. A week later I went back for the carrier and to my horror found her still inside of it.

PROS:
CONS: Neglect to responsibility, direction or detail

I can not speak highly enough about Dr. McKenna and the staff at Germantown Veterninary Clinic. We have several pets including two cats, and we have been using the services of Dr. McKenna for quite a while now. She and her staff always are so gracious to us and our entire family. She couldn't be a nicer more patient person. I wish there were more doctors out there like her.

I first began going to this facility after my longtime vet, Dr. McKenna, moved there from her location in Frederick. She is the best vet I have ever had and I have been utilizing veterinary services for over 40 years. I have been taking my cats to her for nearly 8 years. She is without a doubt, the most compassionate and caring person (not just vet) that I have ever met. I trust her emphatically with the care of my cats. She is patient and thorough in her examination and is concerned about me as wells as my cats. She has educated and empowered me in the care of my cats. The clinic itself is always clean and well maintained. The staff is exceptional and also friendly and very caring. Everyone there seems interested in the well-being of my cats. Finding a vet who you trust is always challenging, and my only hesitation in recommending Dr. McKenna is that so many others will want to utilize her services it interfere with my ability to see her. But she has always made time for us and has even stayed late when necessary. She is truly a gift.

PROS: Exceptional care
CONS: None
