If you do call, she does rude. Her customer service skills isn't one of her skill sets. Her store is pretty clean. Limited inventory, but nonetheless, it's better than nothing in this area. Prices are higher than the Asian Market in Cary,

I had heard good things about Grand Asia, but I really did not feel like driving all the way over to Cary. I decided to brave Pan Asia anyway, despite the negative reviews.

My sister-in-law gave me this amazing recipe for this asian dish that required tamarind powder/sauce. It was getting kind of late and didn't really feel like driving all over Raleigh/Durham/Cary to find it so I started calling around - Pan Asian being the first. When I called this is how the convo flowed:

Woman: "Hello" completely deadpan
Me: "Hi there! I was wondering if you happened to sell tamarind powder?"
Woman: "Sinagon?" (sp? no idea what that is, what it sounded like)
Me: "Oh no, uh, tamarind? T-a-m-a-"
Woman: "I KNOW WHAT TAMARIND IS! UGH I SAID SINAGON, IS FILIPINO PASTE"
Me: "Uh ok... thanks"

That 10 sec convo was enough for me to never want to visit this place. When I'm asking for tamarind, something I've never used before, how am I supposed to somehow know what sinagon is? Learn some manners, Pan Asia.

Excellent. Small store but very helpful owner. She's a great resource and a big help in trying something new. Store neat, clean, and very well organized. Wish we lived closer (we're in Youngsville) so we could go in more often.

This is a great store! I see complaints about how small it is, but the selection is quite amazing, for the size of the store. And as for the owner, she is very helpful and interested in offering advice on cooking based on what you're

The lady who's wrks there, probably the owner is somewhat crazy and the store is too tiny with limited selection and overpriced good. Even worse, she'll either charge you more or if you break something, she'll give you the lecture and would prefer to have you clean the floor and charge you for the breakage. Simply put, stay away from trouble and have a better life. :)

Have been here several times. There is a enough there so that I don't have to drive to Grand Asia! I highly recommend it. The owner does her homework and is priced right. This place is NOT overpriced. Ignore that comment in the previous review!

Small, local asian grocery-very clean as compared to other markets...prices are very fair for a small grocery, some even less than Wal-mart. Great service and friendly advice. I will continue to support this small local business.

Cons: none

This place is about 20 feet by 40 feet. Very small. More like a corner market than an asian supermarket or grocery store. That might be ok if that's all you need, but it's way overpriced as well. Having shopped at Uwajimaya and Han ah Reum markets before, this was a terrible disappointment. Perhaps they're trying to take advantage of unsuspecting wealthy residents of Brier Creek?

After trying to locate a Asian food store via looking on the WWW I found one in Raleigh close to the bowling alley and another one in Cary. Went to both and the odor was too much for me. I stumbled on to this one, Pan Asia Market, in Brier Creek and went in. I was amazed how clean it was and no odor. The manager was friendly and most helpful. My grandson likes Japanese and Chinese food and he enjoys cooking. Finding this place so close to home just made my day. I am sure you will find this a great place to shop.

Cons: Haven't seen any so far, just a great place to shop.
