The star of the menu is their Angel Wings. Two jumbo chicken wings, deboned and stuffed with minced chicken, herbs, vegetables, coated in Panko and deep fried. The complexity and utter uniqueness of this dish gives you a reason to drive

The Green Papaya in Reno is a ??perfect? Thai restaurant! I have been eating there 1-2 times per week for the past five years. The new owners took over in late 2009, and the dining experience has improved from excellent to ??amazing?. The menu offers 50 entrees, and each is prepared with all fresh ingredients. For each item you can specify the spiciness on a ??one to five stars? scale. Three stars is plenty hot for me, so if you like hot food the five stars should suit you just fine. The new owners have improved everything: new menu, specials every day, remodeled the interior, excellent staff and service , etc. If you want to check out the menu it is posted at www.greenpapayareno. The lunch specials are a great deal: currently $6.25 (in 2010) for a BIG and DELICIOUS lunch ?? even including soup! The Green Papaya is highly recommended: try it out and you will become a regular.

The place is small but the food is very tasty. The flavbors are just right. Had the Panang Curry, and is was great flavor, and served a little thicker then some places. I like that. Also had the silver bean thread noodles, just order #21, really good wok flavor and cook just right. A much better choice in the Caughlin ranch area then Francis' Asian Bistro. That place is baaad, with an owner with a bad attitude. Charge peolpe double to put american chinese food on a black square plate and call it innovative! Ha, forget that! Green Papaya is way better!

Pros: best food for Thai

Cons: not a real fancy date place

I was in Reno for a night and was in the mood for some Thai food. Being from San Francisco, where we have many good Thai restaurants, I has a bit apprehensive about the quality of "ethnic foods" in Reno. I found Green Papaya in the yellow pages and decided to give it a try. The restaurant itself was empty but as we dined there was a steady stream of customers picking up take out orders. We ordered appetizers of chicken satay, crispy tofu, and Tom-Kha soup. You can order the soup in degrees of spiciness rated from 1-5. We ordered it as 3 and I thought it could have been a tad more spicy (I like it hot). My entree was a large plate of yummy tofu pad Thai.

Our dishes were brought out quicky and the service was excelent!

I highly recomend Green Papaya!

I have now offically dined at all 8 Thai restaurants in the Reno area and I can say without exception The Green Papaya is the best. Service excellent, food mouth watering, portions above average. I highly reccomend The green Papaya. Since my move from the bay area I have been searching for great thai food and now I've found it. The Green Papaya is a small establishment so make sure you make a reservation.

Excellent food , great service, reasonable prices. The portions are very good size for the price and I was told they have no msg. They also cater to vegetarians and vegans very healthy food.
