TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! I had gone to this store about a month ago to look for glasses with my daughter. We had an amazing experience with a salesman named Cliff. He was genuine, and helped us select a pair of Kate Spade frames that she was going to buy. I went home and googled the store to read the reviews, and I was grateful that I hadn't met up with the "pushy middle-aged saleswoman" that a another reviewer had dealt with. It was a done deal, we were going to go back and purchase her glasses which were going to run over $500.00. So yesterday we went in to make the purchase with cash in hand. As my daughter (who is an adult) went in for the eye exam, I waited to find a pair for myself, (which turned out to be Prada), so now we're talking about another $600.00 with the eye exam that I would need. As I was chatting with the salesman Cliff, who was professional, endearing, and ever so helpful, I mentioned to him that I was happy that he was assisting us and not the saleswoman that I had read about. He said, "she's on her way back here now", and I told him that I don't do pushy salespeople & that I really wanted to deal with him. My daughter has just completed the eye exam by a wonderful optician, and we are ready to make the purchase. In blows this sales woman JAN HOLMAN, who proceeds to take over the sale, and starts telling my daughter what SHE thinks she should be trying on. I mean really? This poor guy Cliff has been helping us and the sale is about to be made, and this "manager" (LOL), actually thinks that she is going to get the commission? I don't think so. So, I tell her that we are dealing with Cliff, and we're good. She proceeds to start slamming drawers, and mouthing off to me that "she didn't know what my problem was, & that most people like dealing with her". I don't think so, actually, I'm positive that they don't! So , if that wasn't bad enough, she continues to harass me because I declined her assistance, and the situation gets uglier.... So, I step out of the store to call the owner, leaving my daughter to make the purchase with Cliff, (poor employee of this maniacal greedy saleswoman), and she proceeds to harass my daughter demanding my name, and grabbing my daughter's confidential medical records to obtain my name & address for personal reasons. So now my daughter, frightened by a woman who clearly is mentally unstable, asks for a copy of her prescription, and leaves without buying the glasses that we came for. I eventually get a call from Richard Schreir, one of the owners, (and a lawyer), who proceeds to infer that his staff's behavior may be partially my fault. Ok, I'm really disturbed now. All I wanted to do was spend over $1000.00 in cash today on glasses, and instead I get harassed by a maniac middle-aged saleswoman who had dollar signs in her eyes, when she surmised that we were going to buy expensive glasses, and then get pacified by an owner/lawyer who can't seem to accept responsibility for a POOR CHOICE OF STAFF. RUN, RUN, TO ANY OTHER OPTICAL STORE, BECAUSE JAN HOLMAN IS A TERRIBLE MANAGER WHO THINKS THAT HARASSMENT AND AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR IS ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR! She MUST be related to someone, because no owner would tolerate a lunatic like this harassing customers over the almighty dollar!

When I entered this store, the overbearing saleswoman (dark hair and middle aged) immediately showed me a few pairs of the most (literally) expensive eyeglasses in the store. She then began calculating the cost of the glasses (totaling nearly $600 for one pair) before I had even agreed to settling on them. While these glasses were designer (Gucci), they looked cheaply made and lacking in quality. I wonder where they get their inventory. When I asked if I could see some less expensive designer or even (gasp!) non-designer sunglasses, she went on a condescending tirade about how glasses are "make-up" for a woman's face, and how we need to spend more than men. I look very young, and it's unfortunate that this salesperson thinks that she can take advantage of people, selling them poor quality glasses for ridiculous prices. While the optometrist was professional and thorough, I think he missed some routine steps (i.e., the glaucoma test). When I was attempting to pay for the eye exam, the aforementioned saleswoman went on and on about the special contact lens deals they offered (even though I told her repeatedly that I was not interested in purchasing contact lenses in store). Even though the doctor recommended that I stay with my current contact lens brand, she kept trying to push a more expensive brand because her daughter liked this brand(?). I took the doc's advice and jetted before they got any of my cash. If possible, I would avoid this place at all costs and go to a local optician who will not try to rip you off. It's clear that this woman was working on commission, and she would literally do anything to make a sale.

December 2010 I went in to have a pair of glasses fixed. Jan and Cliff took every which way to fix them. They did not rush me out because I had originally purchased my glasses elsewhere. Due to their patience and wonderful customer service I decided to purchase a new pair. Their professionalism was without reproach. And I love the glasses! With that in mind I returned to the store and purchased two more pair. Old time customer service is alive and well at Cheaper Peepers. Thank you, Jan and Cliff!

in response to the above person who was not happy:
i'm sorry to hear that u had a bad experience. i know what u r talking about. i had a similar experience when i went there a few months ago. i did make a complaint to their managers and when i came back (2 weeks ago) i found that they had all new staff who were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. they were apologetic about my prior experience and more than made up for it this time. usually i dont give businesses a second chance but i am glad i did with them. they gave me a free exam, a free pair of glasses with a purchase and they gave me an additional discount "for my troubles". its hard to find places that are big on customer service so i definitely would recommend them.

Make this place your LAST stop. Unsatisfactory shopping experience. The skill of person making the glasses is questionable. If you must shop here look at the lenses to make sure they fit in the frame correctly, check the nosepiece, and if you're dissatisifed don't settle for the "Oh, that'll take a sec' to fix."
Can't say it enough, "Shop elsewhere."
