Pros: store doesn't exist

Cons: store doesn't exist

This place is so horrible. Puppymill puppies that are never healthy or happy. I'm ashamed that I've ever made a purchase here and never will again. I have a strong, haunting memory of a puggle just standing and staring blankly in her cage. This is completely strange for this happy, energetic breed, and visible misery is apparent in the animals all over the store. I know at least half a dozen people in Bay Ridge who have purchased puppies here and every single one was sick. Also, one of my neighbors purchased his dog years ago after getting an inside tip from his daughter (then an employee of this dump) that they had a 4 month old black lab puppy that they were going to EUTHANIZE because he hadn't been sold. The guy then bought the puppy for $170 and with a veterinarian's help, got the poor thing healthy. Could anyone imagine not even giving a puppy the chance to get adopted from a shelter? Why would anyone do that? PLEASE DON'T BUY ANYTHING HERE! Any purchase of any item from this store will help to keep them in business and give them the power to continue to treat animals as expendable commodities. You may feel like you're doing a good thing "resucing" a puppy from this place, but your dollars will help one dog, but also buy the suffering of many more. Please don't do it. Consumers have the power to regulate cruel business practices with simple choices. Use your power well. KINDER ALTERNATIVE - Fins Fur and Feathers on 93rd and 4th is great. Puppies and kittens are happy and healthy. Most importantly, they keep animals as long as it takes to find them homes (even if it's 7 or 8 months!) and begin leash and potty training with older puppies to make them more appealing to customers. If you're interested in a pet shop puppy or kitten, this is the best place. Also, Fins Fur and Feathers has a fabulous inventory of pet products and will go out of their way to order you anything they may not carry. A true mom and pop shop run by a couple that loves animals. Shop there!

Pros: there is absolutely nothing redeemable about this place

Cons: animal cruelty, nasty staff, horrible dirty smell, I could go on and on and on

How this place stays in business is beyond me. I purchased a puppy from them, and I knew ahead of time she had a cold, but did not know she also had kennel cough, and 2 parasites. They were pushing me to see their vet, and I refused since I have a wonderful vet that took care of my beloved St. Benard. I've spoken to other people who have purchased pets there, and they experienced the same thing. One lady bought a parrot there and died within a week (Gave a really hard time replacing the parrot). Another person purchased an Akita puppy, and now is fighting for it's life due to phenomia.

It's a horror, and all they care about is the old mighty dollar. They do not take care of their animals. I feel really sorry for all the pets in that store. BTW, the owner is nasty, and will give you a hard time if you try to return the sick pet, and or get your money back from a pet that died.

Stay away!

Pros: There isn't one

Cons: To many to list

.

This place does have a local "must-to-avoid" rep. It sells the usual puppymill-type puppies, it smells unclean at all times, and the staff is as uncordial and un-animal-oriented as you can get, as if the animals were just inventory. Go someplace, anyplace else - and if you want a dog or cat, check the shelters and rescue groups; don't encourage places like this.

Pros: It's in the neighborhood

Cons: Everything else

In bay ridge these guys are known as A world of death... Why? their animals are sickly and all from puppy mills. The basement where they have the "Extra" pets that they rotate is a nightmare no windows very little light and the air reeks. Its a wonder they have not been raided for the way they treat animals, if they are legal its just by an inch.
