Well I couldn't help but laugh when I read the comment by "Anny" (actually when I attempted to read it which was a challenge due to so many spelling and grammar errors; I mean who doesn't capitalize I and who spells knew new!?). The lady who wrote the ridiculous comment is in fact Danielle Majestic (yes that is her real name even though she was too much of a coward to actually post it) and she can be found searching Google which will pull up a newspaper article about when she was arrested for prostitution and abusing her small 12 year old son which resulted in the boy being taken from her by child services. This lady is a real piece of work and after realizing what sort of monster she truly is I am relieved that she is no longer a client here. Bottom line she is nothing more than a fat mouthed filthy Pelican. As for her interaction with the Tan Republic salon and my personal involvement it was actually rather troubling being that it became very clear that I was dealing with a severely mentally disturbed individual. The fact that the whole argument stemmed from me refusing to let her pay her late membership dues with an Oregon Trail Welfare card is pretty sad and pathetic in general not to mention illegal for her to even attempt. No wonder our economy is struggling with frauds like this lady running around wasting our hard earned tax dollars on things that she shouldn't be. Regardless she can slander and libel a business and me personally all she wants but anyone with half a brain that reads her comment can pretty much see through to the truth. The woman is an ignorant liar and needs to "take a long look in the mirror" which I did indeed tell her to do. To anyone else who takes pride in paying their bills on time with real American currency I welcome to see for themselves what sort of business Tan Republic truly is and if you mention this rather funny comment situation to me either over the phone or in the salon I will take $100 off of any membership purchase just to prove it isn't all about business for me! I have received the WORST customer service by Ryan Reeves who claims he owns 55 TR. He lied to me about a contract He gave me stating it would end in October. I never new i needed to call 30 days prior to cancel i would have. I was gone on vacation for about 2 weeks in October. I did not know i had to write within 30 days to cancel it because it was a 6 month contract only so i was told it would just end. I was told by him today he is a MILLIONAIRE who doesn't need to listen to my comments or advice on customer service because clearly he has millions

I told him that when i spoke with Heather(vancouver store) last night she never mentioned anything about canceling in writing only asked if i called to cancel and i told heather NO i NEVER knew i needed to. Ryan said he personally trained her and she is an expert and i am a liar. He then told me he can tell i am a liar because he has a Masters degree from Berkley and i am not making eye contact and my body language shows i am a liar as well. He then told me i should take a long look at myself and ask myself why i lie. We went back and forth on this shady contract he sold me when he then said he doesn't care about my opinion in customer service because its business to him and its called AMERICA he can make me pay and still refuse me service. When i asked him how he would do this he said hey i don't need a reason i am a business owner i can refuse you anytime, now are you tanning if not get out!

This went on for about 10-15 minutes the entire conversation was insulting unprofessional and rude!!! all of this over 79.00 plus tanning tax, I have not been tanning since 10-14-12 yet paid for October and November now he said December i have to as well. My CC had fraud on it so its an old card on file this is what prompted me to call last night to pay the one last payment and i did in full or so i thought!!!

I was then told my old credit card will have a negative balance on it. I have spent ALOT of money at Tan republic. I would have canceled this had i known i needed to i was told by him at the TROUTDALE OR location that it will end in October that is also why i never went back to tan because i was told October was my last month, and when i mentioned that along with how he was talking to me he said he didn't care its all business and that's why hes a millionanaire.He said if i don't pay it that's fine he will send me to collections and he said even if he could take the money off of there since it was a misunderstanding he wouldn't do it. He said he built and chose this system this way. Te reputation TR already has and now this is not good business. This is a small community and clearly i need to research who i do business with moving forward. I have been swindled its like the used care sales man. There are many many many complaints of all kinds about Tan Republic *** do your homewoek i know i will******

I think many of you, are referring to (Tan Rio) which is not (Tan Repulic). I used to tan with Tan Rio also, and was very unhappy with many things. Ever since Tan Republic came to town I was very pleased. They even extended my package as a courtesy that was not even bought through them but was purchased through Tan Rio before they suddenly closed. Whenver I go in to Tan Republic the employees always find a package that works best for me. I finally decided to join their membership, so glad I did. Now I can tan in Salem when I am down there for work and up in this area with this package. I suggest giving them another shot so you can get the same great experience I did! I refer everyone there.

I had a horrible experience in one of the tanning beds, and told the employee about it, they emailed "corporate" and said they would take care of it. I did not ever hear from them about the situation, but the employee offered to help me upgrade for an extra 100.00 saying I will get 3 months from then on to tan, little did I know that employees will say anything to get you to sign up with they have no authority to authorize this. But I called "corporate" to discuss the situation, saying that is what I signed up for, they did not care, all they care about is making money, they do not care about customer satisfaction at all. They said that is their policy and it is what it is. They did not offer to talk about anything or to offer any help in reaching a solution together. They are greedy and do not care about keeping customers. Customers are the most important, without them businesses do not thrive. Never would I recommend dealing with Tan Republic at Gresham Station. Corporate does not do anything to help customers. Worst customer service ever!

I caution anyone who's looking for a local tanning bed and is considering purchasing a tanning 'package' from Tan Rio. Several months ago I had purchased a 4-month 'stop-n-start' package from Tan Rio's Sherwood location. We used the package for a month and then put it on pause while we took our vacation. A week after returning from our trip we went back to Tan Rio to start up our package again and noticed that the store had been emptied out. While trying to contact Tan Rio to investigate, we found that several of their contact phone numbers for other locations were either disconnected or had messages telling of a similar fate of that of the Sherwood store. When we finally got ahold of the owner, she was not at all accommodating to our situation. Our position was that we had paid $149 for a 4-month, 2-person tanning package and only received one month of service. We wanted a refund of the remainder of our 4-month package ($111.75) so that we could take our business to one of the 3 or 4 other local Sherwood businesses that providing tanning services. Her position was that the store was a franchise and was not corporate owned, that the store collected our money and she didn't see a dime of it so there was no money to be refunded. As a customer, all I see is the large "Tan Rio" sign on the building--whether it's a franchise or a corporate owned store is not a concern of mine. In the end, the offer she made us was that we could use the remainder of our package at any of her corporate owned stores. The problem with that is (aside from discerning which of her few stores are corporate owned and which are franchises) is that tanning is a service of convenience. Their closest alternative store would require us to make a 2-hour round trip drive in traffic after work every other day for 3 months. If you have an alternative in your neighborhood, I'd recommend it. Also, DON'T BUY GIFT CERTIFICATES! Can't use them at any store--just corporate.
