I've been here several times. Have gotten both pedicures and manicures here. They are always friendly, but I too wonder about their techniques. Last time I got a pedicure, the lady brought out a drill - one like is used to rough up fingernails for a full set or a fill! When I asked what she was going to use it for, she motioned to the cuticles on my toes and said to get the skin off. I said no, I don't like the drill. So she used nippers instead - which I am used to. The foot and leg massage she gave was one of the best I've ever had, though! The time before that, a different lady brought out a metal instrument that had a curved pick on one end - a little like the implement dentists use to scrape your teeth. She used it around the edges of my toenails, on the sides, and spent a lot of time on one of them. It didn't hurt much at the time, but after I got home, I noticed that toe was sore, and was sore for over a week. I almost decided not to come back, but they are so convenient I decided I would just not allow them to do that again. I'm going to do some more research to learn how the autoclave is supposed to be used (and whether or not it is required), because I wonder about that, too.

This is a beautiful spa. The atmosphere is wonderful, they provide complimentary drinks, there's a lovely water feature, and it always smells nice (no toxic chemical smells).

I've been here three times, and after the third time, despite the ambiance, I decided I would not return. Why? For one thing, each technician I had had different hygienic practices. The first one wore gloves, and her tools were in sterilized pouches. Neither of the other two wore gloves, their tools were just thrown in their buckets, and they used tools like nail files and buffers that were not single-use and had obviously been used by other people. I had the pedicure with a hot stone massage all three times, and each person used a different technique and sometimes the stones were way too hot. This made me think that they weren't trained in massage or hot stone massage and thought that just heating up rocks and rubbing it on someone was enough training to charge for. And finally, even though I ordered the exact same pedicure with the exact same scents all three times, each technician used different creams/scrubs with different scents. Nothing seemed regulated. When I realized the second time was different than the first, I thought it was a fluke. However, the third time was different from the other two as well. Without regulation, I cannot trust that I am getting what I paid for and that proper hygiene is being used. I am now looking for another nail salon. Azura Nail Salon in Murphey, TX is supposed to have really great sanitary practices. I'll see how it goes this week!

I really hesitate to write an unflattering review, but my hope is that the owners will see it and take more care to make sure their services and hygienic practices are regulated.
