BIG SCAMMER DOESN'T EVEN HAVE AN OFFICE OR RECEPTIONIST VERY CAREFUL

This was my first invention, and I was very nervous. Mr. Swayze spent a lot of time with me explaining all of the steps. Whenever I would call, Mr. Swayze would answer the phone and answer my questions. A very positive experience, and I would highly recommend his services.

I contracted this man to do a patent search and found the quality of work to be exceedingly poor. Additionally, there were a number of red flags that I now recognize to be indicative of a scam artist: 1. He was very unwilling to talk on the phone, even for just a few minutes. 2. He asked me to give him my address so that he could send me paper documents, then emailed them to me anyway (was the need for a physical address to make sure I didn't live near Plano? 3. The PDFs he creates are wiped of any digital signature info, as if they are typed out by typewriter then scanned with nothing identifying the originating computer (why not just create a PDF from a Word doc?) 4. I sent him a $550 check to cover the patent search. A week later he said he didn't receive it, so I sent another check. A week after that, still no completed work, I noticed that the second check had been cashed and the first had been deposited and was awaiting bank clearance. I called wondering why he hadn't completed the work and he said he sent it in an email (which he did a moment after my call). I said I saw that he had cashed my second check and I played dumb about the first, asking if he had received it. He responded that he had not received it but that he would tear it up if it ever showed up. Big lie -- I was looking at a digital copy of it on my bank's website as he lied. Then I looked at the patent search and here is what I found: total incompetence. The related prior art was only vaguely related to the invention, as if he had spent 5 minutes on Google Patent search and threw together a boilerplate patent search document filling in the blanks. I did manage to save my second $550 as I was able to cancel payment on the check just in time. Be very careful with this online scammer. I recommend you find a local attorney and meet with them physically, as I learned the hard way.
