Reply to Necia J.: I am the owner of Willetts Sew And Vac. We repair several thousand sewing and vacuum machines a year. I have never heard of Necia J. and I think she is reviewing the wrong business. If our steam cleaner repairs exceed $69 the we offer the customer a factory refurbished Hoover steam cleaner with warranty for $99. To my knowledge we have never charged this much to repair a ROYAL carpet cleaner.

However here is my reply: Robert never sent that letter to Willetts that he refers to and he has never called me. If he was treated as he says, then it was by the vacuum repairman who no longer works for Willetts. Our current vacuum repairman, Jay, lives in McKinney and has been reparing vacuums for nearly 30 years. He will go the extra mile for all our customers.

Not recommended. \r\nTook my Juki serger in for a part replacement. Said he could not find a replacement part so his ""fix"" was to super glue the shield in place. Result: no longer able to use the rolled hem feature. \r\nOne star is too high a rating.

This place is awful. Each employee says a different thing when I dropped off my machines to picking them up. I was told when I dropped off my machines I would get a discount for dropping two off at a time. When I picked it up I mentioned it to the person checking me out and it was like he never heard of that policy. Then I use my machines and they don't work any better than when I dropped them off (unfortantely it was a month later). I was so angry! I found a Bernina dealership and took it there. They were surprised to find cardboard in my foot control...that is how they fixed it...with cardboard!!! And I paid good money for cardboard! Gez...don't waste your time.

When I took the machine home it started leaking all over the carpet. I called them and asked them to take a look at it. They informed me that parts wear out so any further help from them would cost more. Let me assure you, the machine was NOT leaking before they "serviced" it-the part would be $65 to buy another one. I love this place! Bought a Janome sewing machine there several months ago. The salesperson was extremely helpful in helping me choose the right machine for the projects that I work on. And I might add, very patient, as I was having a hard time making a decision. Have been back several times to buy thread and notions. The prices are very reasonable and the people there are always friendly.

I went in looking for bobbins and needles for a very old sewing machine. They patiently helped me locate the items and order them. However, I had to call a few times to find out that they had arrived so I could go pick them up. I certainly didn't have the same kind of experience that the previous posters did.

Here is a letter I wrote to them after visiting their store:

I'm amazed you have been around so long due to the fact that the little gentleman you have working in your vacuum department is such a ridiculously rude individual.

He compares your store to one of the absolute worst professions (doctors) for overcharging and hidden fees, stating, "you have to pay doctors to get anything, don't you?" I simply wanted a yes or no answer to whether I had the right part in my machine. He told me either answer, "yes" or "no," would cost me twenty dollars, normally $35. I, of course, thought he was kidding and obviously he would not help me whatsoever.

I remember when McKinney was a good place to live before people like your emplyee moved in and removed simple manners and I actually stated, "I guess this is what McKinney has turned into!" He then yelled to me, "You know you can move!" My family's been in this area a hell of a lot longer than your little store and I can guarantee we have always gone out of our way to help anyone!!!

I was appalled at your employee's attitude, lack of respect for a customer, and his blatant disregard of human decency. My mother and grandmother have used you in the past and I will make sure they are informed of who you really are and knowing my Mother, she will pass that on to all the people she knows that might have used you in the future, as will I.

Thank you so much for following the current trend where customer service and human kindness are a thing of the past. Shows real character!

These guys have unique sewing items you can't find at the big name stores. Their prices are fair and they have a good selection. Only draw back is their customer service is not that great. The sales people seemed agitated. I would go back only if I am desperate for an item and don't want to mail order it.
