Purchased new garage door August 2009 from A-1 Garage doors: 1) Representative stated the door quality was durable & heavy steel- great security;
2) Representative stated door would have 15 yr warranty
3) Representative stated repair warranty 3 years labor 1 yr; 12/10 - Door came off track - still under warranty; 07/10 - Door came off track- called A-1 since still covered under warranty & paid trip fee. Also house was vacant & being prepared as rental unit;
01/11 - Door came off track again; called A-1 - would not service under warranty: did not repair until tenant left in April;
04/2011- Called another garage repair service - company did not want to repair due to poor installation of A-1's work.
Problem: Garage door installed was extremely too heavy for the existing slats & track railing coming from the ceiling; bolts were too short to hold heavy steel door for slats in the ceiling; door will continue to have problems if not corrected;
Recommendation was to call company that installed the door.

Called A-1 Technician answered the phone was extremely rude stating since it was ??09?? they did not honor warranty; would not even take recommendation from garage tech who knew the problem. Technician stated since no longer in warranty would not come back out without service charge & repair fees.
06/11: Door came off track again-
Called A-1 for records of garage repair - No customer records found; Technician &Rep said they do not keep warranty or service information over 1 year of service. "J" states that owner information is not available to customers who have complaints & neither is door manufacturer.
Customers do not have a way of locating information after 1yr of service. Referred to work order- Work order does not have detailed information only "door installation & fee." A-1 does poor installs & will not accept responsibility/accountability for bad craftsmanship. They place the customer in a loop hole of continuous service/repair fees until you have to purchase a new door less than 2yrs & will not honor 15 yr warranty!
