max's restaurant of the philippines

Max's is known for their chicken. In the Philippines and here. Go there for the chicken because they at least know how to make it well here. Service is a bit slow and often crowded too.

I've always been a fan of Max's in the Philippines, so I was glad to know that they have a branch in the San Francisco area. The kare-kare was good, although the portion might not be enough for some. Their chicken did not let me down. However, the restaurant could use a little more space and they should try to make their prices more affordable especially with the several competing Filipino restaurants in the area.

I'm not sure what the hype is about here...I've been once and don't have a desire to go back. There are so many other filipino food choices in the area....that to me are BETTER.
