Alright everyone..This review is a two sided coin for sure! I received What quite possibly could be the best and worst medical care all in the same visit. Allow me to explain. I arrived at the clinic without an appointment, fully expecting that I may have to wait a while to be seen. I did not expect however to walk in to any empty clinic & have to wait over 5 minutes before anyone appeared at the front to help me. When someone finally did show up, it was not even the receptionist, it was the nurse. She apologized for my wait & gave me everything I needed to fill out. Eventually the front desk girl made it back up front. I finished my paperwork & took it up to give to her. I stood at the counter for nearly a minute before she acknowledged me, as she was too busy text messaging! I was then told to have a seat while I was checked in. As she begin to check me in the clinic phone rang & it appeared to be a personal phone call for the girl. While on the phone for close to 5 minutes I got to hear all about her baby & the problems she was having with his father. At this point I was very close to walking out. I can not believe the level of unprofessionalism that was displayed by her!! Eventually the call ended & my chart was put back. I expected to have to wait a while but was very pleasantly surprised to be called back almost immediately by the same nurse that had helped me when I first walked in. The nurse was very pleasant & made me feel very at ease. She seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say & took the time to listen to my concerns & answer my questions. She went over the possibility of needing x-rays & explained the procedure for that as well. She assured me the doctor would be in shortly, and to my great surprise, he was. The doctor was a very caring & thorough man & I felt well taken care of. He ordered x-rays, which were done by the same nurse, & the x-rays were shown & explained to me after they were taken. It turned out that I needed to be referred to a specialist & both the doctor & his nurse explained the process & helped me with that. The nurse went to package my x-rays to take with me & the doc sent me up front to check out. That is where it turned bad again. The same front desk girl clearly heard me walk out, but kept her back turned to me, ignoring me. Most likely because this time she was not texting, she was actually at the front desk, TALKING ON HER CELL PHONE!!! I was appalled!! The nurse came up with my x-rays & looked as shocked as I did to see the girl on her cell phone. She nudged her & told her to hang up & help me, but the girl ignored her as well!! After that the nurse proceeded to help me instead. She gave me the forms I needed while the other girl still talked on her phone. I begin filling out the form & heard the nurse tell her again to get off the phone. She finally told whoever she was talking to that she had to go, but she said so with an annoyed tone. As though she was annoyed that her call had been interrupted!! So, would I return to this clinic? ABSOLUTELY. The great care provided by the nurse (Christina) & the doctor (Dr. Koike) more than outweighed the horrible experience by the front desk girl (who I will leave nameless). If the manager at this clinic got rid of her, they would have an outstanding team.
