Join us for live mandolin, violin & flute music every Wednesday at noon & other musical artists in the evenings - see the website for more info. We are Bastrop's stop for fresh made desserts & specialty pastries! Chocolate Mousse Cups, Operetta Cakes & Tarte aux Fruits (fruit tarts) just to name a few. Relax in our cozy dining room or under the canopy of trees in our intimate outdoor courtyard. See You Soon!
The owner Tanalee is simply enchanting; a hostess perfectly matched to the setting. I felt like I was at a friends house for a party. The courtyard is rustic, surrounded by historic buildings, and the mismatched retro yard fruniture will only adds to the feeling like you're at your aunts house for a party.
I'd never even heard of the place and went there to deliver an antique light fixture. Although I'm normally shy to the point of being anti-social, the regulars kept me talking non-stop until last call.
This would be the perfect spot for a second or third date for an artsy/intellectual couple that want to relax and chat in a pseudo intimate setting, without being hurried & hounded by the wait staff or uptight yuppies.
PLUS-- you can smoke here!!!
Pros: Amazing food, charming owner & friendly regulars
Cons: none

This sweet little dollhouse of a tearoom has a wide variety of looseleaf green and black teas to choose from. I like the Kyoto cherry green tea, but regulars swear by the house blend of black tea with hints of peach and apricot. All teas are available hot or iced. They've also just added some specialty coffees and the vintage-style cooler (nicknamed Marie Antoinette) is full of locally-made tarts and cupcakes. You can order all kinds of goodness from a simple fresh-baked scone to a light lunch to a full high tea with finger sandwiches, fruit and more. It's a hidden treasure just off Main Street, not far from Bastrop's antique and resale shops. Ample free parking on the street and nearby lots.
Pros: Tea AND coppuccino, light lunches, pastries & more
Cons: On the small side - come after the lunch rush

This is a wonderful secret in historic Downtown Bastrop! It is a quaint tea room with delicious looking salads & sandwiches. I have had the desserts twice now & they are Delicious! We tried the fruit tarts, chocolate mouse cups, apple & carmel tarts & the lemon scones. Everything is so fresh! My kids fight over the extra ones! I stopped in there last Wednesday and there was a flutist & mandolin player sitting on the front porch playing for the patrons seated in the outdoor courtyard. You could hear it from inside as well because they had the windows open for us. This truly is a place to relax and enjoy!
