Parent broke hip on a Saturday and EMT took him to Chestnut Hill and It's now Tuesday and they have not performed the surgery yet because the OR is so busy. He can't move and is in great pain but so far they can't find the time to fit him in. Can't get any info. UPDATE They operated at 11:00 and everythings good. Staff is very nice and my Dad is very happy with his care now.

I took my college-age daughter to see a rheumatologist at the advice of her primary care doctor. We were a little aghast to hear her condition referred to as a psychiatric illness, but did go to the lab for the bloodwork panel ordered by the doctor. A few weeks later we received a bill for over $5000 for bloodwork. Our insurance covered all but $800; still the charges were far steeper than we had ever imagined. By the way, we have not heard anything about the result of the bloodwork, and my daughter was not given any direction in terms of treatment.

The business office started calling our home asking for my daughter (away at school now) before the bill came due, and continued calling up to ten days after payment was made. They refuse to speak to me, problematic because my daughter is out of town.

Chestnut Hill is a community hospital that my family has use for almost 25 years. We have other hospital options in our area and will not be using their service-- particularly their lab services in the past. The cost of the lab panels was broken down in the bill we received. There was nothing exotic in the test-- all they could tell us was that these tests are not cheap.

So be warned if you have any plans to use the labs at Chestnut Hill Hospital.

emergency room admissionof 88 yr old aunt yesterday abd her transer to telemetry bed was compassionat - caring - competent - and as efficient as a hospital can be in this over stressed medical system. The staff is intelligent and hard working. As in previous years my family & I have felt well cared for there!

I had all four of my children there, and each experience was different in a great way and each time I met a simply lovely person, the staff is very friendly and welcoming they made me feel like I was the most important person there when there probably 20 other mothers there having babies too! SOO SOO SORRY TO SEE THE MATERNITY WARD CLOSING! SUCH A SET BACK FOR MOTHERS!

Horrible. Nearly impossible to actually get to talk to anyone on the phone, or heaven forbid, make an appointment. They really let you know that you are just a profit giving person and that they could care less about you. The doctors are good, but the hospital, sorry, "healthcare system" as a whole is really awful.

I have been in this hospital a couple of times. The doctors are excellent but the security could be a bit better. People are able to just wander in. The food sucks. As far as the medival treatment is concerned, however, they get a top rating.
