Angels & Mariachis is a friendly, Tex-Mex cuisine serving Wicker Park bar & grill loaded with a ton of character. Brought to you by Eat Well Drink Better, this rock Cantina of Wicker Park pumps out classic rock and is adorned with urban art, crafts and vintage photos. While at Angels & Mariachis, you can order queso dip, shrimp tacos, enchiladas, burritos as well as margaritas, micheladas, chocolate-chipotle and rum chata martinis, infused tequillas and palomas. On Mondays at our Wicker Park cantina, enjoy all margaritas for $4. On Tuesdays, order Tequilla and Tecate for $5. On Wednesdays, enjoy $4 Premium specials. On Thursdays, all beers and Kilo Kai Cocktails are $3. On Fridays, 60oz Monster Margaritas are $12, $10 for Tequilla flights. On Saturday, $20 for Bottomless Mimosas and $4 for "You Call It!" On Sunday, it is 50% off with Sombrero and $20 for Bottomless Mimosas.

A carefully weathered sign featuring a skull and six-shooters announces the cantina--a very Disney scene when viewed in the greater context of thriving Division. Clapboard siding, rusticated wood and aged tin ceilings all add to the roadhouse look, but handsomely upholstered benches and a hard-hitting soundtrack of pop and rock dismiss the illusion. As does the fancified Mexican food, like steak fajitas that arrive sizzling with tortillas, rice and beans. Mexican beers rule the bar, but decent margaritas and a good tequila list get fair play, too.

The Inside Scoop

When to Go - On nice days, the sidewalk patio is just as good as other Division Street favorites. Also, any day even loosely associated with Mexico is a sure bet.
The Extras - The bartenders do a nice tequila shot service, including your choice of tequila, a shot of tomatoey spiced sangrita and the requisite limes and salt--all on a miniature wooden service tray.
Parking - Division is lined with meters, but on the weekends no one seems to budge. Thankfully, cabs are plentiful.
On The Menu - Tacos are the go-to items. Choose from a changing list of traditional and dressed up meats like pork carnitas and lightly battered shrimp.

Angels and Mariachis is a great addition to Division Street. We needed a good fun Mexican restaurant and we got one!! The food is great and you can tell its fresh. Guacamole is made to order (you can make it spicy and take out cilantro!) There are over 5 different types of salsa and the queso funditio is out of this world. The bar itself is amazing. It?s got a ton of character but far from cheesy. There is a space to move around, good drinks, great music and it draws in a good crowd of people. There is also outdoor patio. Highly recommend it!
