Champignon Catering

I threw my wife a surprise birthday party and needed a caterer. A friend referred me to Champignon. I told Jesse what foods my wife doesn't like and how many people would attend and he did the rest. It was a cocktail party and I was concerned that there wouldn't be enough food. Don't you hate when you go to a cocktail party and you leave hungry? Well there was so much food that people ate and drank and we couldn't finish everything.

The food was great (especially for cocktail party food) and plentiful, but what was excellent was the server that came. (I feel terrible, I forgot his name) This guy didn't miss a step. He made drinks, passed food, poured wine, CLEANED UP AS HE WENT!, brought his own ice tongs, asked me how he should dress, made sure I had a drink. He took down the garbage half way through and at the end and on and on. This guy really made the party flow and took so much stress out of the day for me.

Being an artist in New York City, budget was a big concern for me and I did get two other bids. What I really liked about Jesse was that, unlike the other two companies, who the first question was "what's your budget " and miraculously came in at a couple dollars from my number with no room for negotiation. Jesse asked how many people, how long, and other relevant questions, gave me examples of the food and gave me a price without asking the budget question. He's obviously been doing this a long time and is a good read of people.

This is my first time writing a review of anything but I just felt that I had to share my experience. I will absolutely use him again if the need arises and I recommend strongly!

After a nite out, we were looking for a place to eat. We wanted burgers and coke, stumbled upon champignon and loved it. Service was friendly and sincere, burgers were fantastic and huge. In fact the four of us could have split two, considering we each only ate half. Food was fresh and artisinal will definitely go back next time in NYC.

The positive reviews on this site for Champignon Catering are 100% accurate. I was in a bit of a pinch recently, as the company that was hosting our Board meeting recommended a deli that they use frequently for our food/beverage needs, but the deli was unresponsive to my phone call/e-mail message. That's when I had to hustle to make other arrangements. When I phoned Champignon, I had the pleasure of speaking with Jennifer, who totally put my mind at ease. Although our group was small--and our needs were not great, Jennifer handled all the details with the utmost professionalism. I was not at the meeting, but the feedback from our Board regarding the food/beverage and delivery, were all positive. I would absolutely recommend Champignon Catering!

I was throwing a birthday party for my step fathers 65th and it was going to be a brunch. After extensive research I came across Champignon which had a great selection of brunch items. The price was perfect so I imagined the food would not be. I was wrong. They gave me a huge assortment of foods to taste beforehand and it was all wonderful...even my four year old son gave a thumbs up to the blueberry muffins. The staff were all very accomodating and helpful even when the numbers for the party were changing three days before the event. I am still getting emails about how wonderful the food was at the party. I will definately be using them again for future parties or even to stop by for coffee and a blueberry muffin with my son.

Pros: You can't get such good food for that price anywhere else in Chelsea

Last month I used Champignon for a high-profile contract signing in the board room in my Times Square office. The service was prompt, respectful, and appropriate for the crowd and event. By the way, I only set this up 1 work-day in advance! I don't recommend the last minute notice, but Champignon was there for me. I will be forever in gratitude. I recommend them for any type of event, as they are very flexible and they are willing to go the extra mile to find the solution that will fit your specific needs - just like they did mine.

I hired Champignon for a fundraising event for 300 people. Jesse, the owner/manager, was very attentive to all of the things we (the organizers) asked for, and made wonderful suggestions for those things we were not sure about. He expertly calculated how much food we would need; the servers and food were on time; and the staff he provided was very friendly and professional. He provided us with a wide variety of food to fit our budget, and we got compliments on the food for weeks following the event. The presentation of the food was also very good. I highly recommend Champignon Catering; they are able to do a wide variety of events, from informal to very formal. It is truly a professional business with great service and great food. I'd hire them again with no hesitation.

I luv this place! Have yet to set foot in the store but I order from Champignon at least once a week and use them for all my breakfast/lunch catering needs at the office. Moved into the MPD about a year ago and came upon their menu online - have been using them ever since. Jessie and the guys are great - always know what I need and deliver it on time! Great wraps and sandwiches!

They did my wedding party catering. It was great! They are very professional and responsible for everything, even make suggestions for things I omitted. I feel confident of the party when I talked with them. So finally, it turned out to be a great time! everybody liked the food, especially the Grill.

Talk to chef Jessie, he is great and we had very happy communication. Also the whole team is really helpful! I thank them for their wonderful food and service. I will use them again soon!

Champingnon has a great selection of sandwiches which I enjoy at least once a week for lunch. The staff (owners?) are extremely friendly and they know how I love coffee drinks and that I have a sweet tooth for chocolate. Recently, I had to rush to organize a birthday party and decided to have Champignon prepare and deliver random finger food platters. Needless to day, I was very pleased!

We are a non-profit organization who has been using champignon catering for the past 7 years. The food is great, always fresh and very well presented. Never late (unless the weather doesn't permit it or freight elevador is slow). Delivery guys are nice and helpful. Phillp & Jessie are sooooooooo sweet and caring.
For us Champignon is number one!!!! Thank you guys for your great food & service.

By chance I discovered Champignon by taking an alternate route to work one morning. What a great find!
I decided to have Champignon cater an important presentation at work. The delivery was on time and the set- up service thorough.
The food was delicious! The sandwiches and salad were fresh. Everyone especially enjoyed the dessert platter with assorted cookies,truffle brownies,blondies which was garnished with fruit.
I've ordered from more expensive caterers in the past and Champignon was by far more superior in quality and value. I'm hooked!

Fabulous Food & Service

Champignon provides the greatest service, food, fits within your budget and most of all savory sweets. My companies recently needed a restaurant to help us serve a small group of Talent Agents for a seminar we were hosting. I called up Champignon and asked if they can help caterer our event. My company decided that we would go with something simple that everyone would like to eat. So we ordered a fruit and cheese display and cookies with small beautiful bite size cakes. By the end of the seminar the two displays were completed eaten and every guest was raving about how good the treats taste... Whether your company is big or small... Champignon can ensure that they can delivery on time with the freshest food for your event.

for the first time, we decided to try champignon catering. And for sure, it will not be the last one. Jessie-Chef-Oner an amazing taste, i was impressed by every thing he createdfrom the dishes presentation, his freshness ingredients, to his reasonable pricesthe food and the dessert were amazing , but their filet mignon was deligtful the same as their steamed vegtabels. in brief, champignon pleased our company staff and the most important thing they are accurate on time.
