Siboney is a Cuban restaurant in Bucktown. Owner Jose Luis Hernandez born in Cuba, is behind this Bucktown spot where they offer both home-style Cuban fare and more refined Cuban dishes influenced by French and Italian techniques. This is an ideal venue for a business lunch or dinner in Bucktown. Jose convinced a favorite Cuban chef with a fine dining background to pack up and move to Chicago to help him carry out his vision. The corner building is now home to a large mural on the exterior and a fashionable dining room inside. Siboney also features live music Tuesday (Flamengo), Thursday (Salsa) and Sunday (Latin Jazz). This Cuban restaurant has a private room equipped with a projection screen. Their bar area is beautiful, with flat screen TVs and Siboney has perfected their Mojito! Call today for a reservation at Siboney, a Bucktown restaurant with a Cuban twist.

For those whose knowledge of Cuban cuisine is limited to Cuban sandwiches, the frogs' legs with aioli on the menu at this spacious Bucktown restaurant will expand horizons. At lunch locals dig into pressed sandwiches, from the classic ham, pork, cheese and pickle-stuff Cubano to the braised beef ropa vieja with plantains, but it?s dinner that features lesser-known Cuban specialties such as a "Criollo" pork stew packed with garlic, onions and Caribbean spices. The main dining room's tiled accents, tin ceiling, lazy ceiling fans and lush potted plants lend the air of a tropical cabana, which is helped along by live music Thursday through Saturday nights.

  2. Know Before You Go - You won't be able to miss Siboney if you're driving south on Western. The restaurant boasts a large, colorful mural depicting Cuban musicians on the northern exterior wall.
  3. Where to Sit - The two-tops along the back wall afford a perfect vantage point on the room, and a view through the double doors of the live musical performances that take place on the weekends in the adjacent back dining room.
