Marlene has been cutting my hair for the past 12 years and I do not know what I would do without her. Every time, it is a perfect cut. She is an expert with scissor, clippers, and razors. Marlene is as kind as can be and will not disappoint.

When I first came back home to LA after college, I began a long (and frustrating) search to find a good haircut. I tried cheap, expensive and everything in between. I eventually ended up at Umberto's (which at the time wasn't as well known for men's hair care)...and lucked upon Marlene. 15 years later Marlene is still the one for me.

No matter what salon she was at or where I lived (2 years in NYC)...I always came back to Marlene for my haircuts.

In addition to great haircuts, she's fun, entertaining and a great person...for me, an appointment with Marlene is usually the highlight of the day.

Marlene is the best.

Just like the movie title (and what Yelp calls its five-star grade), Marlene is "As Good as It Gets." How do I know? I have been going to her for ten satisified years and won't be letting anyone else cut my hair until she retires (but not to worry, she's got about 20 more years).

I am now blaming myself by posting this review to "let the cat out of the bag" at the risk of her booking up when I want to make my appointment. To all the guys out there or their girlfriends or wives who read this and want their guys to look better, I can only say, she's worth it. She works upstairs in a private area (I like that concept because you can go there as grubby as you want) in an nice Beverly Hills salon on Little Santa Monica Blvd.

Marlene is a very talented stylist who listens to what you want or injects her own ideas when asked about how she can improve and make your haircut even better. She is very meticulous about the finishing touches and isn't in a hurry to get you out of the chair and won't let you leave until SHE is satisifed that you look your best. She also does color and shaves.

And best of all, she is a charming, warm and lovely lady who really cares about her clients and makes going to see her like going to spend time with a good friend. After 11 years, I certainly consider her one.

BTW...Parking is relatively easy in the public lots above ground and at street level.

I met Marlene while she was working at Umberto's for men and have known her since 1996. I have sent Marlene many male clients over the years, including someone over this past weekend who wanted an old fashioned straight razor shave. She's the only one who knows how to do this with finesse, style and professionalism. I recommend her to all my male friends and she has even kept my old boyfriends looking great over the years, much to my dismay. She is always current with her hair styles and they mention often how they love her private loft and convenient parking.. which is golden in Beverly Hills.

I have been going to Marlene for over 10 years. I never found anyone before who could cut my hair the way Marlene does. I couldn't be happier.
