In Short
This casual and spacious restaurant is reminiscent of a wooden ski chalet, with several dining rooms flanked with booths and "burger" bars. Due to its proximity to two major studios, it's usually filled with industry folk. A full circular bar beckons to after-work carousers. Half-pound burgers are a specialty here and they can be dressed in horseradish sauce, topped with a mountain of crisp bacon, or slathered with peanut butter and sour-plum jam.

Key Points

  • Lunch, breakfast, and dinner.
  • Catering available.
  • Happy hour Mon - Fri 4pm - 7pm.

The Inside Scoop

  1. Parking - Turn off Riverside North to Rose for valet parking, or try to snag one of the free spots on Riverside.
  2. Know Before You Go - When the burgers are ready, diners are escorted to the "burger bar," where they can choose from various sides and toppings.

Mo's is cool!

by Diane M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,189

The mash potatoes are great. It's a nice place that I went to for lunch and also ordered for delivery at times. Lot's of left overs for me to take home. I usually eat the next day for lunch or perhaps dinner. Prices are okay.

Yummy Food -- too bad about the service!

by Nathalie H. | insider Insider | Rank: 17,181

The pasta cobb at Mo's is the best! Too bad it's only offered after 2:00p.m.! The servers are less than accomodating at this Toluca Lake stop. The burger's come with the "burger bar" that is underwhelming. Much better places in the area to go if you're looking for quick, friendly service and serviceable food.

Mo's

by Jared K. | top100 Top100 | Rank: 51

Even though one waiter broke my retainer and one waitress pitches alarmingly between flirting and snarkiness, I can't help but love this place! It's the only place that allows me to put peanut butter on a veggie burger. They have a build your own sandwich and burger bar. It's a great industry spot, lot's of actors hang out here.

Great Food at a good price

by Hilarie T. | insider Insider | Rank: 31,764

Mo's doesn't look like much from the outside and the interior is kind of dark, but the food will not disappoint. The burgers are great and you can add an assortment of condiments at the self serve area. Pastas and salads are served up in huge portions, so be ready to eat or take home a doggie bag!

A pricey but popular choice on hamburger row....

by SCOT S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,921

You would think that with Bob's Big boy on one side and Papoo's on the other, that this place would get no business at all. However, Mo's is a unique and comfortable establishment with fresh food and good service. This Toluca Lake fixture has the best burger on the block and also has a really good salad bar. If you can get over the price .... Mo's is pretty nice!

Great Breakfast

by J D.

Mo's is has a great atmosphere, very hip and trendy. They have a great menu at all times of the day, but I love their breakfast. Lots of choices and delicious food. Waitstaff is friendly and they also are kid friendly. Would recommend for breakfast, haven't eaten lunch or dinner there in a long time.

This restaurant has a great atmosphere and great food. Great place for a party. Ask for the room in the back it seats 50.
My favorite thing here is the burger bar. You choose the topping you want on your buger and make it your way!

Mo's is a great lunch joint near Warner Bros. Studios. It is packed during lunch, but worth the short wait. I normally stick to the salad menu and complement it with fresh lemonade. Parking is tough sometimes, and they do take out and deliver if you live within a certain distance. Mo's has a great atmosphere with wood paneling.

Mo's--located in Burbank directly across the street from Bob's Big Boy--has a lot of wonderful food. They have a bigger selection of burgers than any restaurant I can think of in Los Angeles, and their salads are great as well.

However ... the parking there sucks. It's valet-only, which is really a joke. The valets take your car and park them MAYBE twenty feet away. It honestly takes longer to wait for them to go and get your car after dinner than it would if you just walked to your car yourself.

As much as I love the atmosphere and the food at Mo's, I ALWAYS dread their parking situation whenever I go there. It's almost enough to make me stick to take-out and phone orders with them.

BAD SERVICE

by MelR

High prices for bad service. Food was "ok"
Took forever to get seated, or acknowledged for that matter.
Our server "Aaron" or "Eric" did not check up on us during our meal, nor even say a word besides taking our order; when he brought our check he just slapped it down on the table..., however, he did speak to what seemed like his regular customers. The bussers brought our ketchup, coffee, refilled our coffee and served us better! We won't be going back there...

Cons: Go elsewhere instead!

Ugh

by taylordk

Went there late one night a couple month's. Got the special Kobe Beef Burger. The meat was off and I got sick. The burger bar is just ridiculous. The menu is way too huge for it to possibly be good. Would not be nearly as offended if they didn't tout themselves as "Fine Food" when that's the farthest thing it is.

Really good burgers, fast service and a ton of toppings. Fries were huge and really crispy, huge portions. Plus, they have toppings for free.

Too expensive and the services is BAD!

by SandyGl

The burgers are good but pretty expensive. The services is pretty bad. If I am going to spend $40 for 2 people for lunch I much rather go somewhere where the food is better and the service is good.

Cons: Price

Great Burgers that worth the wait

by LimeLight84

I hate burgers... well until I ate at Mo's. This place changed my perspective toward the great American fast food dish. The meat is juicy and they managed to put gourmet to something rather simple. The salad bar is packed with essentials that you want. The staff is so friendly. Was it only me that get treated nicely. I found that if you are nice to the people, you will be treated nicely back. :)

If it wasn't so close, I wouldn't go.

by hawnk

The burgers are good, but the "burger bar" consists of something like 3 condiments, and a not very good type of potato salad, which I tried once and will not have again. That's it. Nothing else. No frills, no extras. Nothing. The "foot long" sandwiches are two pieces of average bread open faced (thus the foot long?) with not much meat on them. The salads are very good, but very expensive. They do have Pacific Ridge on tap. It's a great beer and I can't find it anywhere else.
Service has always been pretty good.

Pros: Location

Cons: cost

Good Neighborhood Joint

by azuki

From the outside this place looks like a dingy bar and can seem intimidating. Once inside, however, it's obvious that people love Mo's. There is almost always a wait, although it's never that long. The menu has a lot of interesting items on it, but the burgers are the thing to get here (at least your first time). I don't even eat red meat, and I think it's great. Mo's offers a whole list pre-set burger combinations (which you can adjust as needed, of course) and patty options (beef, turkey, veggie). When your burger is ready it is taken to the burger bar. I do have to say the burger bar (with its basic condiments and a couple side salads) was a little disappointing, but you do get to customize when you place your order so I'm not sure how to make it better. Mo's has a great selection of non-burger items on the menu as well which are also consistently good.

Pros: burgers, ambiance

Cons: service can be slow

Tasty entrees, nothing else special.

by doom03

The only reason people go to this dive and think they enjoy it is because it is trendy. The decor has an alright feel, reminiscent of a lodge, and the actual main courses are good, but everything else falls flat...well, except the prices. Who needs to pay $10.95 for a burger that doesn't come with any sides? Want french fries? That's a whopping $4.95 extra. Want extra cheese, onions, or other additives that they "conveniently" left out? That's an extra 50 cents per item on an already overpriced meal. Oh, I forgot, there is Mo's Famous Burger Bar. Essentially, you don't get your food brought to you; you have to get it yourself at a tiny island bar similar to the salsa bar at El Pollo Loco. And your being "escorted" there is just being told by a server (not the waiter/ess) where it is, leaving you to find it yourself. The bar itself is a travesty. Your options are the worst potato salad ever, some disgustingly sliced pickles, dry coleslaw (how do you mess up coleslaw?), sloppy tomatoes, unappetizing pasta salad, and risotto that no one would touch. If you're not getting a burger, you won't get much else for cheap. The cheapest pasta dish is $11.95, and none of them come with any meat in it. Two options allow chicken added for an extra $2 and shrimp for $4. Aren't we paying enough already? Apparently when it's trendy and you might see a celebrity, people will pay anything. The wait staff is alright, but they don't really do much other than give you drinks. I ordered an ice water (since a simple fountain soda is $2.50) and it was never refilled. Most people will order a burger or sandwich, which is left at the burger bar anyhow, so they don't need to serve you. Not a bad experience, but no place I would recommend. There are much better, cheaper, more celebrity-filled restaurants that actually serve you good food at a decent price and don't try to stiff you at every corner.

Pros: Tasty main course

Cons: Overpriced, nothing special, not enough for your money

Mo's is cool

I like Mo?s a lot. The burgers are big and the burger bar has all the fixings you can think of. Make sure to order a side of the curly fries to go with the burger!

Almost every time I go there I see a celebrity. Last time it was Jason Priestley and Naomi Lowde.

Burger = Good, Hair Salad = Bad

by larrymus76

Mo's used to be a regular stop in my restaurant rotation... that is until they served me a salad with a hair in it. Now I've found hair in my food before, just not one that couldn't immediately be identified as coming from someone's head. This was no head hair, my friends. So I notified the waiter. His eloquent response... "That su*ks!" And that was all. He took the salad (which I only ate 2 or 3 bites from) and walked away. Sure they were kind enough to remove the lovely hair salad from my bill, but at no time did they apologize, at no time did a manager come over, and at no time did the waiter even return until he had the my check in hand. There were two of us dining. We each had the chopped salad. Needless to say, after finding the short curly hair in one, we assumed both salads were tainted (no pun intended). She ate none of hers. They gladly cleared the full bowl of salad without even a remark as to why it wasn't touched. They really couldn't care less, that much was clear. The service at Mo's has always been turtle like, but slow I can deal with. However, eating in unsanitary conditions is not something anyone paying for a meal should tolerate.

Pros: They do make a good burger

Cons: Service is slow, both physically and mentally it seems

Good food, great condiment bar

by webstersmom

Food is good, gazpacho is great. The side salads in the condiment bar is a great plus. I never really had a bad burger here, and my meat eating family always had a great time. The last time we went though, the receptionist was a snob and the service wasn't really great.

Pros: Condiment bar, a whole lot of choices

Cons: service

Most overrated place in the valley!

by shuateen

Before my first visit to Mo's, I asked my co-worker what it was like and he responded, "Great"! So that is exactly what I was expecting...something great! I was hugely disappointed. The service was fine, the food was decent and reasonably priced, but I didn't think it was anything special. They tout their "World Famous Burger Bar". Why it is world famous, I have no idea! It's basically some condiments, toppings and a couple of salads. Quite frankly, I've seen more variety at a grocery store salad bar. When I asked my co-worker what he thought was so great about Mo's, he said, "Well, it's convenient!" (especially when you work in Burbank).

Pros: Conveniet when y ou work in Burbank

Cons: Completely overrated...and parking's a challenge if you don't want to use valet.

Best burger selection in the valley

by cdisip

There aren't too many great burger places in the valley, but Mo's definitely takes the top spot. they have over 15 different kinds of burgers, plus a great selection of other menu items. All burgers on the menu are also offered in turkey or veggie, for those of you who are health-conscious. each burger comes with a free trip to their burger bar which has a variety of toppings. great place for lunch or dinner!

You can't deny that Mo's has a great crowd and it's a great ambiance for lunch. I'm not that fond of their burgers, although the variety is nice. They do have a surprisingly good tasting breakfast, a bit expensive and the service is awful but overall pretty good.

Pros: Good breakfast.

Cons: Bad service.

If you're in Burbank, Toluca Lake, North Hollywood, et al., Mos' is the place to go. If there's a better burger I haven't found it. Great dinner specials, nice staff, cozy atmosphere and a pretty happening little bar scene. My only complaint is that they took my favorite flank steak sandwich off the lunch menu....bring back the flank.

Killer Burger!

by warrengarfield

Mo's took over the old "Hampton's," which was a great burger, but this one is even better. Head and shoulders above the rest, really tasty beef, always done perfectly, lots of choices, same great salad bar deal. This is a hamburger lover's true satisfaction every time. Deserves to be in the top five.

Pros: Best burgers, Comfortable

Cons: Crowded M-F lunch

Go to Mo's

by DamasoRodriguez

Go. Get the Yucatan Chicken with steamed vegetables and the incredible garlic mashed potatoes. Make sure you split a bottle of wine (they start at 14 bucks) with somebody and don't forget to have dessert.

Everything on the menu that I've tried is great. The Gorgonzola Salad should not be missed, but only after you've tried the above mentioned Chicken. They have good burgers, but I tend to go to Mo's when I'm in the mood for something healthy.

Pros: Great healthy food, Cool atmosphere, Variety

Best Curly Fries in the Valley

by Oscar

I love this place. Amazing curly fries, tons of burger options (try the Menage a trois, with bacon, swiss and avacado), or replace the burger with a turkey burger or chicken breast, and enormous free-refill soda and iced t's. Somehow, you wind up spending almost $10 for lunch, but it's definitely worth it. Breakfasts are good too.

Pros: curly fries, burger choices
