Great Steak - Cooked correctly

It is hard to get a steak cooked correctly. Mid rare is a warm red center and the chophouse nailed it. I'll be back

Awful place for lunch

Four of us went for lunch - a birthday celebration. When our waitress approached the table she stated there was no chicken, tuna or pork so not to order anything with these ingredients. We ordered fried green tomatoes for any appetizer and awhile later she came out and said there were no tomatoes. Were is the communication between the wait staff and the kitchen? Our other appy order was to be shared by the table but she didn't supply plates for us or just even a plate to discard bones on. I ordered a lamb burger with feta and receive a beef burger with swiss and mushrooms. By the time I received my proper order everyone else was finished with their meals. Another in our party ordered a sandwich with ham, turkey and cheese and received the order without the cheese. There were no condiments at the table or on any of the sandwiches so we asked for condiments for the table. The waitress brought only ketchup - no mayo, mustard, salt or pepper. She was extremely good at apologizing so I figure she does it regularly. I would never recommend this place to anyone and rate it a zero. I had to give it a one star not able to rate it a zero.

One of Athens' Best Overall Restaurants.

My wife and I drove to Athens for the weekend to catch a game, eat, drink and shop. A friend of our told us to try the Chophouse and we are so glad we did. The interior is gorgeous--think cherry wood bar, tall ceilings, chandeliers. But the overall vibe is upscale casual and welcomes a good bar scene. For dinner, I had the tenderloin and she had the halibut, both of which were outstanding. The owner stopped by our table and talked to us about the preparation of the foods and the wines, etc. The whole experience was intimate, yet casual and very cool.
